Significance of glacio-morphological factors in glacier retreat：a case study of part of Chenab basin,Himalaya

A study has been carried out in part of Chenab basin,Himalaya to understand the relationship between glacio-morphological factors and change in glacial area. Initially change in areal extent of glaciers was derived for two time frames(1962-2001/02 and 2001/02-2010/11). The study comprised of 324 glaciers for the monitoring period of 1962-2001/02 for,which 11% loss in glacial area was observed. Two hundred and thirty-eight glaciers were further monitored between 2001/02 and 2010/11. These glaciers showed an area loss of 1.1%. The annual deglaciation has been found to be higher during the period of 1962-2001/02 compared to 2001/02-2010/11. The spatial and temporal variability in deglaciation was also addressed usingglacio-morphic parameters. Area,length,percentage of debris cover,and various elevation parameters of glaciers were observed to have significant controls on relationships to the rate of glacial shrinkage. Largerarea and longer glaciers show a lower percentage of retreat than smaller and shorter ones. Moreover,glaciers located at lower altitudes and having gentle slopes show more area retreat. The results of area retreat in debris covered and debris free glaciers supports that the glaciers covered by debris retard ice melting at some extent. 158 glaciers were observed having no debris cover,and these exhibit 14% of loss in surface area. In glaciers having 40% debris cover,8% of deglaciation was observed. The glaciers located below equilibrium line altitude(ELA) have experienced 4.6% of deglaciation for the time frame 2001/02 – 2010/11 whereas it was found to be 1.1% for the glaciers occurring above ELA. However,theorientation of glaciers did not show any considerable influence on glacial change based on hypothesis.

The title compounds 3-（3,5-bis（trifluoromethyl）phenyl）quinoline （1） and 3-（4- fluoro-3-methylphenyl）quinoline （2） were synthesized through Suzuki-Miyaura Cross coupling reaction of 3-bromoquinoloine with aryl boronic acids. The title compounds were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, El-MS, elemental analysis and IR. The crystals of 3-（3,5-bis（trifluoromethyl）phenyl）quinoline （C17H9F6N, Mr = 341.25） belongs to the monoclinic system, space group p21n, a = 12.3072（13）, b = 4.9378（6）, c = 24.493（2） A, V= 1473.1（3） A3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.539 Mg m-3, 2 - 0.71073A, μ = 0.144 mm^-1, F（000） = 688, the final R = 0.0715 and wR = 0.1873 for 1875 obserwed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I） and the crystal of 3-（4-fluoro-3- methylphenyl）quinoline （C16H12FN, Mr= 237.27） belongs to the orthorhombic system, space group pca21, a = 23.794（2）, b = 3.9094（3）, c = 25.669（2） A, V = 2387.7（4） A3, Z = 8, D, = 1.320 Mg m-3, 2 = 0.71073 A, μ = 0.088 mm-1, F（000） = 992, the final R = 0.0534 and wR = 0.1188 for 2270 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）.

Clinical characteristics, treatment and prognosis of patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy: a tertiary center experience

Background Contemporary heart failure medications have led to considerable improvement in the survival of patients with heart failure. However,limited evidence is available regarding the effect of those medications in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDCM),particularly in China. We sought to analyze the trends in clinical characteristics and the prescription rate of recommended therapies and its prognostic impact in patients with IDCM. Methods From 2009 to 2016,1441 consecutive patients (age: 55±14 years,68% men,LVEF: 33%± 12%) fulfilling World Health Organization criteria for IDCM were enrolled in the current retrospective cohort study. Temporal trends of baseline clinical characteristics,treatment and prognosis were analyzed,and potential influential factors were explored. Results Rates of patients receiving angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin II receptors blockers,β-blockers,aldosterone receptor antagonists and diuretics increased from 55%,45%,58%,51% in 2009 to 67%,69%,71%,64% in 2016,respectively (p proportion of patients receiving digoxin decreased from 39% in 2009 to 28% in 2016 (p proportion of patients with optimal guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) was 44.6%;however,that rate increased from 33% in 2009 to 41%,49% and 56% in 2012,2014 and 2016 respectively (p patients with optimal GDMT had a better outcome than those without,but there was no temporal trend toward improvement in the overall long-term prognosis of IDCM patients with the years. There was a trend towards admission of patients with milder disease and toward increased admission to a cardiology ward with the years. Conclusions An improvement in prescription rates of guideline-recommended medications in IDCM patients was observed. However,it remains suboptimal,and there is still some room for improvement. Fishery stock assessment of kiddi shrimp (parapenaeopsis stylifera) in the Northern Arabian Sea Coast of pakistan by using surplus production models

pakistani marine waters are under an open access regime. Due to poor management and policy implications, blind fishing is continued which may result in ecological as well as economic losses. Thus, it is of utmost importance to estimate fishery resources before harvesting. In this study, catch and effort data, 1996-2009, of kiddi shrimp parapenaeopsis stylifera fishery from pakistani marine waters was analyzed by using specialized fishery software in order to know fishery stock status of this commercially important shrimp. Maximum, minimum and average capture production ofp. stylifera was observed as 15 912 metric tons （mr）（1997）, 9 438 mt （2009） and 11 667 mt/a. Two stock assessment tools viz. CEDA （catch and effort data analysis） and ASpIC （a stock production model incorporating covariates） were used to compute MSY （maximum sustainable yield） of this organism. In CEDA, three surplus production models, Fox, Schaefer and pella-Tomlinson, along with three error assumptions, log, log normal and gamma, were used. For initial proportion （Ip） 0.8, the Fox model computed MSY as 6 858 nat （CV=0.204, R^2=0.709） and 7 384 mt （CV=0.149, R^2=0.72） for log and log normal error assumption respectively. Here, gamma error produced minimization failure. Estimated MSY by using Schaefer and pella-Tomlinson models remained the same for log, log normal and gamma error assumptions i.e. 7 083 mt, 8 209 mt and 7 242 mt correspondingly. The Schafer results showed highest goodness of fit R2 （0.712） values. ASpIC computed MSY, CV, R2, FMsv and BMsv parameters for the Fox model as 7 219 nat, 0.142, 0.872, 0.111 and 65 280, while for the Logistic model the computed values remained 7 720 mt, 0.148, 0.868, 0.107 and 72 110 correspondingly. Results obtained have shown that p. stylifera has been overexploited. Immediate steps are needed to conserve this fishery resource for the future and research on other species of commercial importance is urgently needed.

In this work,We are looking at the characteristics of micropolar flow in a porous channel that’s being driven by suction or *** working of the fluid is described in the *** can reduce the governing nonlinear partial differential equations(pDEs)to a model of coupled systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using similarity variables(ODEs).In order to obtain the results of a coupled system of nonlinear ODEs,we discuss a method which is known as the differential transform method(DTM).The concern transform is an excellent mathematical tool to obtain the analytical series solution to the nonlinear *** observe beast agreement between analytical method and numerical method,we compare our result with the Rung-kutta method of order four(Rk4).We also provide simulation plots to the obtained result by using *** plots,we discuss the effect of different parameters which arise during the calculation of the flow model equations.

N-Isopropylacrylamide and vinyl imidazole copolymer,p(NIpAM-co-VI),was synthesized by free radical emulsion ***,the copolymer and silver nanoparticle composite,p(NIpAM-co-VI)-Ag,was pre-pared by in situ reduction of AgNO3 with *** to the coexistence of thermal-responsive pNIpAM and pH-responsive pVI,p(NIpAM-co-VI)and p(NIpAM-co-VI)-Ag exhibited both thermal and pH responsibility,their size would change while altering the temperature or pH of the *** thermal and pH dual responsive properties were studied by dynamic light scattering(DLS).p(NIpAM-co-VI)-Ag could be stably dispersed in water at a pH range from 3.0 to 9.3,which is favorable to use p(NIpAM-co-VI)-Ag as a catalyst in the reduction reaction of *** reaction rate constant(kapp)increased with the decrease of pH or the increase of VI content in the copolymer.

NDVI-Based Lacunarity Texture for Improving Identification of Torreya Using Object-Oriented Method

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index （NDVI） is a very useful feature for differentiating vegetation and non-vegetation in remote sensed imagery. In the light of the function of NDVI and the spatial patterns of the vegetation landscapes, we proposed the lacunarity texture derived from NDVI to characterize the spatial patterns of vegetation landscapes concerning the ＂gappiness＂ or ＂emptiness＂ characteristics. The NDVI-based lacunarity texture was incorporated into object-oriented classification for improving the identification of vegetation categories, especially Torreya which was the targeted tree species in the present research. A three-level hierarchical network of image objects was defined and the proposed texture was integrated as potential sources of information in the rules base. A knowledge base of rules created by classifier C5.0 indicated that the texture could potentially be applied in object-oriented classification. It was found that the addition of such texture improved the identification of every vegetation category. The results demonstrated that the texture could characterize the spatial patterns of vegetation structures, which could be a promising approach for vegetation identification.

Quantitation of tadalafil in human plasma using a sensitive and rapid LC-MS/MS method for a bioequivalence study

A highly sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry（LC-MS/MS） method was developed for the determination of tadalafil（TAD） in human plasma. TAD and its deuterated internal standard（IS）, tadalafil-d3, were extracted from 200 mL plasma using phenomenex Strata-X-C 33 m extraction cartridges. Chromatographic analysis was carried out on Synergi Hydro-Rp C18（100 mm × 4.6 mm, 4 mm）column with a mobile phase consisting of methanol and 10 m M ammonium formate, p H 4.0（90：10, v/v）,delivered at a flow rate of 0.9 m L/min. Quantitation of the protonated analyte was done on a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer using multiple reaction monitoring via electrospray ionization. The precursor to product ions transitions monitored for TAD and TAD-d3 were m/z 390.3-268.2 and m/z393.1-271.2, respectively. The calibration curve was linear over the concentration range of 0.50–500 ng/m L with correlation coefficient, r2 Z 0.9994. Acceptable intra-batch and inter-batch precision（r3.7%） and accuracy（97.8% to 104.1%） were obtained at five concentration levels. The recovery of TAD from spiked plasma was highly precise and quantitative（98.95% to 100.61%）. Further, the effect of endogenous matrix components was minimal. TAD was found to be stable under different storage conditions in human plasma and also in whole blood samples. The validated method was successfully used to determine TAD plasma concentration in a bioequivalence study with 20 mg TAD tablets in 24 healthy volunteers. Method performance was evaluated by reanalyzing 115 study samples.

In vitro and in vivo bactericidal activity of Vitex negundo leaf extract against diverse multidrug resistant enteric bacterial pathogens

Objective:To investigate in vitro and in vivo antibacterial potentials of Vitex negundo(V. negundo) leaf extracts against diverse enteric ***:Water and methanol extracts of *** leaves were evaluated against enteric bacterial pathogens by using standard disc diffusion,viable bacterial cell count methods,determination of minimum inhibitory concentrations(MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentrations(MBC).Results:Methanol extract of *** leaves showed potent antibacterial activity(inhibition zone:9.9- 22.6 mm,MIC: 200-3 200μg/mL,MBC:200-6 400μg/mL) against all the pathogenic enleric bacteria(Vibrio cholerae,Vibrio parahaemolyticus,Vibrio mimicus,Echerichia *** spps.,and Aeromonas spps) *** extract of *** leaves showed potent bactericidal activity both in vitro laboratory conditions(MBC,200-400μg/mL) and in the intestinal environment(Dose,1-2 mg/mL) of infant mice against pathogenic Vibrio cholerae,the major causative agent of cholera. Furthermore,assays using the mice cholera model showed that *** methanol extract can protect mice from Vibrio cholerae infection and significantly decrease the mortality rate(ppounds of this extract that could be a good alternative of antibiotics to treat cholera.
