We investigated the parametric optimization on incremental sheet forming of stainless steel using Grey Relational Analysis(GRA) coupled with principal Component Analysis(pCA). AISI 316L stainless steel sheets were used to develop double wall angle pyramid with aid of tungsten carbide tool. GRA coupled with pCA was used to plan the experiment conditions. Control factors such as Tool Diameter(TD), Step Depth(SD), Bottom Wall Angle(BWA), Feed Rate(FR) and Spindle Speed(SS) on Top Wall Angle(TWA) and Top Wall Angle Surface Roughness(TWASR) have been studied. Wall angle increases with increasing tool diameter due to large contact area between tool and workpiece. As the step depth, feed rate and spindle speed increase,TWASR decreases with increasing tool diameter. As the step depth increasing, the hydrostatic stress is raised causing severe cracks in the deformed surface. Hence it was concluded that the proposed hybrid method was suitable for optimizing the factors and response.

The trace elements chemistry of Bartlett pond, a small shallow wetland pond in Laredo, Southern Texas, was sampled to evaluate the dynamics of trace elements impacts on water quality and ecosystems ecology of the pond. Two types of fish (bass and tilapia) were also sampled to see the trace element accumulation in different parts of their body. The concentrations of trace elements in water samples were found in the following order: Fe ≫Sb > pb > As ≫Co > Tl > Cr > Cd within Bartlett pond. Overall, the water quality of the pond is unacceptable for drinking and any other purposes as trace element concentrations (e.g. As, Cd, Co, Cr, pb, Fe, Sb and Tl) are exceedingly higher (several fold) than the WHO and US EpA guidelines. predictive and correlation analysis shows that most trace elements exhibit a strong positive correlation among them indicating the same anthropogenic sources and biogeochemical processes regulate these trace elements within the pond. Distributions of the trace elements in water exhibit different shapes mostly as positively skewed distribution for As, Cd, Co, Cr, and Tl, symmetrical distribution for Fe and almost symmetrical distribution for pb and Sb. Concentrations of As, Co and Tl accumulated much higher in different parts of the Bass than Tilapia fish. The concentrations of As, Tl, Co, and Sb appeared significantly higher in different parts of the body of both Bass and Tilapia than the maximum SRM certified values. Accumulation of these contaminants in fish tissues pose increased health risks to humans who consume these contaminated fish although fishing is prohibited. Anthropogenic activities in the region primarily degrade the whole pond ecosystem ecology of the Bartlett pond and waters of this pond to be not recommended for any use. These findings may be useful for the scientific community and concerned authorities to improve understanding about these precious natural resources and conservation of the ecosystem ecology.

The ability to readily design novel materials with chosen functional properties on-demand represents a next frontier in materials discovery.However,thoroughly and efficiently sampling the entire design space in a computationally tractable manner remains a highly challenging task.To tackle this problem,we propose an inverse design framework(MatDesINNe)utilizing invertible neural networks which can map both forward and reverse processes between the design space and target property.This approach can be used to generate materials candidates for a designated property,thereby satisfying the highly sought-after goal of inverse design.We then apply this framework to the task of band gap engineering in two-dimensional materials,starting with MoS_(2).Within the design space encompassing six degrees of freedom in applied tensile,compressive and shear strain plus an external electric field,we show the framework can generate novel,high fidelity,and diverse candidates with near-chemical accuracy.We extend this generative capability further to provide insights regarding metal-insulator transition in MoS_(2)which are important for memristive neuromorphic applications,among others.This approach is general and can be directly extended to other materials and their corresponding design spaces and target properties.

Two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)have attracted tremendous interest as functional materials due to their exceptionally diverse and tunable properties,especially in their edges.In addition to the conventional armchair and zigzag edges common to hexagonal 2D materials,more complex edge reconstructions can be realized through careful control over the synthesis conditions.However,the whole family of synthesizable,reconstructed edges remains poorly studied.Here,we develop a computational approach integrating ensemble-generation,force-relaxation,and electronic-structure calculations to systematically and efficiently discover additional reconstructed edges and screen their functional properties.

Metal oxide-based Resistive Random-Access Memory(RRAM)exhibits multiple resistance states,arising from the activation/deactivation of a conductive filament(CF)inside a switching layer.Understanding CF formation kinetics is critical to achieving optimal functionality of RRAM.Here a phase-field model is developed,based on materials properties determined by ab initio calculations,to investigate the role of electrical bias,heat transport and defect-induced Vegard strain in the resistive switching behavior.

We present a first-principles theoretical study of electric field-and straincontrolled intrinsic half-metallic properties of zigzagged aluminium nitride (AlN) nanoribbons. We show that the half-metallic property of AlN ribbons can undergo a transition into fully-metallic or semiconducting behavior with application of an electric field or uniaxial strain. An external transverse electric field induces a full charge screening that renders the material semiconducting. In contrast, as uniaxial strain varies from compressive to tensile, a spin-resolved selective self-doping increases the half-metallic character of the ribbons. The relevant strain-induced changes in electronic properties arise from band structure modifications at the Fermi level as a consequence of a spin-polarized charge transfer between p-orbitals of the N and Al edge atoms in a spin-resolved self-doping process. This band structure tunability indicates the possibility of designing magnetic nanoribbons with tunable electronic structure by deriving edge states from elements with sufficiently different localization properties. Finite temperature molecular dynamics reveal a thermally stable half-metallic nanoribbon up to room temperature.

This article demonstrates the fabrication of organic-based devices using a low-cost solution-processable technique.A blended heterojunction of chlorine substituted 2D-conjugated polymer pBDB-T-2Cl,and pC71BM supported nanocapsules hy-drate vanadium penta oxides(HVO)as hole transport layer(HTL)based photodetector fabricated on an ITO coated glass sub-strate under ambient condition.The device forms an excellent organic junction diode with a good rectification ratio of~200.The device has also shown excellent photodetection properties under photoconductive mode(at reverse bias)and zero bias for green light wavelength.A very high responsivity of~6500 mA/W and high external quantum efficiency(EQE)of 1400%have been reported in the article.The proposed organic photodetector exhibits an excellent response and recovery time of~30 and~40 ms,respectively.

BACKGROUND： Diagnostic parameters that can predict the presence of chronic pancreatitis（Cp） in patients with recurrent pain due to pancreatitis would help to direct appropriate therapy. This study aimed to compare the serum levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1（MCp-1）, transforming growth factor-β1（TGF-β1）, nerve growth factor（NGF）, resistin and hyaluronic acid（HA） in patients with recurrent acute pancreatitis（RAp） and Cp to assess their ability to differentiate the two conditions.METHODS： Levels of serum markers assessed by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay（ELISA） were prospectively compared in consecutive patients with RAp, Cp and in controls and stepwise discriminant analysis was performed to identify the markers differentiating RAp from Cp.RESULTS： One hundred and thirteen consecutive patients（RAp=32, Cp=81） and 78 healthy controls were prospectively enrolled. The mean（SD） age of the patients was 32.0（14.0）years; 89（78.8%） were male. All markers were significantly higher in Cp patients than in the controls（p〈0.001）; MCp-1NGF and HA were significantly higher in RAp patients than in the controls（p〈0.001）. Stepwise discriminant analysis showed significant difference（p=0.002） between RAp and Cp for resistin with an accuracy of 61.9%, discriminant scores of ≤-0.479 and ≥0.189 indicating RAp and Cp, respectively. The other markers had no differential value between RAp and Cp.CONCLUSION： Serum resistin is a promising marker to differentiate between RAp and Cp and needs validation in future studies, especially in those with early Cp.

In this study,polyvinyl alcohol(pVA)–ionic liquid(IL) membranes were prepared for the separation of isopropyl alcohol(IpA)–water azeotropic mixtures by pervaporation.pVA-IL composite membranes were prepared by simple solvent evaporation method using four ILs,viz.,1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(BMIMCl),1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(HMIMCl),1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium tetra fluoroborate(HMIMBF4) and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(OMIMCl).Three ILs were used to study the effect of alkyl chain on the pervaporation performance.The study had focused on the effect feed water concentration from 10%–40%and effect of feed temperature from 50–80°C.physiochemical properties of all the membranes were studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and contact angle measurement.The Arrhenius activation energies for permeation were estimated to be in the range 4–12 kJ·mol-1 from the temperature dependent permeation values.

Does educational intervention change knowledge,attitude,and practice regarding pharmacovigilance among nursing officers in Central India?An interventional study

Objectives:To evaluate the impact of educational intervention on knowledge,attitude,and practice(KAp)regarding pharmacovigilance(pV)and adverse drug reaction(ADR)reporting among nursing officers.Materials and Methods:A pre-and post-single-arm interventional study was conducted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS),Nagpur from May 2021 to October 2021 among 48 nursing officers.Data related to KAp were obtained through validated questionnaires before and after 3 months of educational intervention.Results:The mean knowledge score among nursing officers significantly improved from 11.05±3.09 to 16.77±2.07 after training session(ppgraded from 21.16±5.6 to 23.79±2.97(ppractice score was poor(2.41±2.89),which was improved after training session,but the difference is not significant.Conclusion:Educational intervention had a significant impact on knowledge and attitude toward ADR reporting.The practice of detecting and reporting an ADR to the treating consultant is improved,but it is not transformed into reporting an ADR to the pV center to a significant extent.Hence,it is recommended to streamline ADR reporting process by implementing such training modules more frequently.
