A new fault diagnosis method based on improved Adaptive fuzzy spiking neural p systems(in short,AFSN p systems) and particle swarm optimization(pSO)algorithm is presented to improve the efficiency and accuracy of diagnosis for power systems in this paper. AFSN p systems are a novel kind of computing models with parallel computing and learning ability. Based on our previous works, this paper focuses on AFSN p systems inference algorithms and learning algorithms and builds the fault diagnosis model using improved AFSN p systems for diagnosing effectively. The process of diagnosis based on AFSN p systems is expressed by matrix successfully to improve the rate of diagnosis eminently. Furthermore, particle swarm optimization algorithm is introduced into the learning algorithm of AFSN p systems, thus the convergence speed of diagnosis has a big progress. An example of 4-node system is given to verify the effectiveness of this method. Compared with the existing methods, this method has faster diagnosis speed, higher accuracy and strong ability to adapt to the grid topology changes.

Spiking neural p systems are a class of distributed and parallel computing models inspired by spiking *** this work,the features of neuron division and neuron budding are introduced into the framework of spiking neural p systems,which are processes inspired by neural stem cell division. With neuron division and neuron budding,a spiking neural p system can generate exponential work space in polynomial time as the case for p systems with active *** this way,spiking neural p systems can efficiently solve computationally hard problems by means of a space-time tradeoff,which is illustrated with an efficient solution to SAT problem.

In contrast to differential equations, p systems are an unconventional model of computation which takes into consideration the discrete character of the quantity of components and the inherent randomness that exists in biological phenomena. The key feature of p systems is their compartmentalised structure which represents the heterogeneity of the structural organisation of the cells, and where one can take into account the role played by membranes in the functioning of the system, for example signalling at the cell surface, selective uptake of substances from the media, diffusion across different compartments, etc. We show here that p systems can be a reliable tool for Systems Biology and could even outperform in some cases the current simulation techniques based on differential equations. We will also use a strategy based on the well known Gillespie algorithm but running on more than one compartment called Multi-compartmental Gillespie Algorithm.

In this paper we discuss the potential usefulness of membrane systems as tools for modelling tumours. The approach is followed both from a macroscopic and a microscopic point of view. In the first case, one considers the tumour as a growing mass of cells, focusing on its external shape. In the second case, one descends to the microscopic level, studying molecular signalling pathways that are crucial to determine if a cell is cancerous or not. In each of these approaches we work with appropriate variants of membrane systems.

The insensitive munitions compound nitroguanidine(NQ)is used by the *** to avoid unintended ***,NQ also represents an emerging contaminant whose environmental emissions can cause toxicity toward aquatic organisms,indicating the need for effective remediation ***,we investigated the feasibility of treating water contaminated with NQ in continuous-flow columns packed with zero-valent iron(ZVI)or iron sulfide(FeS).Initially,the impact of pH on NQ transformation by ZVI or FeS was evaluated in batch *** pseudo first-order rate constant for NQ transformation(k_(1,NQ))by ZVI was 8-10 times higher at pH 3.0 compared to pH 5.5 and 7.0,whereas similar k_(1,NQ)values were obtained for FeS at pH *** on these findings,the influent p H fed to the ZVIand Fe S-packed columns was adj.sted to 3.0 and 5.5,*** reactors transformed NQ into nitrosoguanidine(Nso Q).Further transformation of Nso Q by ZVI produced aminoguanidine,guanidine,and cyanamide,whereas Nso Q transformation by Fe S produced guanidine,ammonium,and traces of *** outperformed Fe S as a reactive material to remove *** ZVI-packed column effectively removed NQ below detection even after 45 d of operation(490 pore volumes,pV).In contrast,NQ breakthrough(removal efficiencypV)in the Fe S-packed *** high NQ removal efficiency and long service life of the ZVI-packed column(>490 pV)suggest that the technology is a promising approach for NQ treatment in packed-bed reactors and in situ remediation.

The relation between ductility at high temperature and solid solution in Mg alloys

This work investigates the effect of solid solution on ductility and on the activation of individual deformation mechanisms at moderate temperatures and at quasi-static strain rates in Mg-Zn and Mg-Al alloys. With that aim, four solid solution Mg-Zn and Mg-Al binary alloy ingots containing 1 and 2 wt.% solute atoms were subj.cted to hot rolling and subsequent annealing to generate polycrystals with similar average grain size and basal-type texture for each composition. The activity of the different slip systems after tensile testing at 150°C and at 250°C was evaluated in pure Mg and in the alloys by EBSD-assisted slip trace analysis. In addition, segregation of Zn and Al atoms at grain boundaries during the thermo-mechanical processing was characterized by HAADF-STEM and EDX. It was found that while the addition of Al and Zn atoms to pure Mg does not lead to maj.r changes in the mechanical strength at the investigated temperatures, it does enhance ductility significantly, especially at 250℃. Our results show that this increase in ductility cannot be attributed to a higher activation of non-basal systems in the alloys, as reported earlier, as the incidence of non-basal systems is indeed considerably higher in pure Mg. This work suggests, on the contrary, that the ductility increase may be attributed to the presence of a more homogenous basal activity in the alloys due to a lower degree of orientation clustering, to grain boundary solute segregation, and to a higher slip diffusivity at grain interiors.
