The main drawback of conventional braced frames is implicitly accepting structural damage under the design earthquake load, which leads to considerable economic losses. Controlled rocking self-centering system as.a.modem low-damage system is capable of minimizing the drawbacks of conventional braced frames. This paper quantifies main limit s.a.es.a.d investigates the seismic performance of self-centering braced frame using a Probabilistic safety Assessment procedure. Margin of safety, confidence level, and mean annual frequency of the self-centering archetypes for their main limit s.a.es, including PT yield, fuse fracture, and global collapse, are es.a.lished and are compared with their acceptance criteria. Considering incorporating aleatory examined. Results of the investigation indicate that the provide the adequate margin of safety against exceeding and epistemic uncertainties, the efficiency of the system is design of low- and mid-rise self-centering archetypes could the undesirable limit-s.a.es.

The 21st International Geological Congress (IGC) was held in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1960, but was organised jointly by the five Nordic countries. It attracted 2,386 geo-scientists.a.d 948 accompanying members.a.d was up till then the largest scientific congress held in Copenhagen. It also had more members than any previous IGC. The paper presents.a.r overview of the practical arrangements, the lecture sessions, and the excursions, and evaluates the outcome of the Congress. The meeting took place at the threshold of the formulation of the plate-tectonic concept, which, however; was hardly discernible in the Congress Proceedings. The 430 oral presentations.a.d 407 printed papers nevertheless supplied new information in many fields of geology, examples of which are mentioned in the present paper.

Promising technologies have recently emerged to capture CO2 from postcombustion flue gas.a.d to enhance the production of hydrogen from natural gas by steam-methane reforming, on the basis of sorp- tion of CO2 by Ca-based powders. The rate of CO2 sorption on Ca-based powders is limited by both carbonation kinetics.a.d transport of CO2 to unreacted sorption sites. Ca-based powders may exhibit cohesive aggregation, thus hindering gas-solids contact efficiency. In our work, we tested the sorption rate of powder samples prepared by dry mixing of a cohesive Ca（OH）2 powder with a silica nanopowder used as.a.ditive. The silica nanopowder serves to improve the dispersibility of Ca（OH）2. Consequently, when a CO2 enriched gas.a.d the modified sorbent are brought into contact, the rate of CO2 sorption is enhanced in the initial fast phase of interest for practical applications.

In this study, we present a framework based on a prediction model that facilitates user access to a number of services in a s.a.t living environment. Users must be able to access.a.l available services continuously equipped with mobile devices or s.a.t objects without being impacted by technical constraints such as performance or memory issues, regardless of their physical location and mobility. To achieve this goal, we propose the use of cloudlet-based architecture that serves.a. distributed cloud resources with specific ranges of influence and a realtime processing framework that tracks events.a.d preferences of the end consumers, predicts their requirements.a.d recommends services to optimize resource utilization and service response time.

Thin films of Cdse and silver(Ag)-doped Cdse have been prepared on glass substrates by thermal evaporation in argon gas.a.mosphere. X-ray diffraction pattern indicates the presence of hexagonal structure with preferred orientation along (100) plane. Elemental composition of the thin films has been analyzed using energy dispersive X-ray analysis. s.a.ning electron microscopy has been used to investigate the morphology of the thin films. Transmission electron microscope reveals spherical nature of nanoparticles. A decrease in the band gap due to the formation of band tails in the band gap with increase in Ag doping in Cdse lattice has been observed. Photoluminescence spectra indicate redshift in band edge emission peak with increase in Ag doping in Cdse. Electrical conductivity measurements.a.e also studied, and two types of conduction mechanisms taking part in the transport phenomena are observed. Hall measurements indicate n-type behavior of undoped and Ag-doped Cdse thin films.

Measurements of density(ρ), viscosity(η), and refractive index(n), were carried out on α-amino acids, DL-alanine (Ala), D-phenylalanine (Phe), and DL-threonine (Thr) (0.01-0.05 mol·L-1), in 0.05 mol·L-1 aqueous caffeine solution at 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15 K. These measurements have been carried out to evaluate some important parameters, viz., apparent molar volume (фυ), partial molar volume (фυ0v), transfer volume (фυ0v(tr)), viscosity A and B coefficients of Jones-Dole equation, free energies of activation per mole of solvent (Δμ0#1) and solute (Δμ0#2), enthalpies (ΔH) and entropies (Δs) of activation of viscous flow, variation of B with temperature (αB/αT)P, and molar refractive index (RD). These parameters have been interpreted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions.a.d structure making/breaking ability of solutes in the given solution.
