p.rp.se: The oxidative stress (OS) hyp.thesis of overtraining syndrome argues that increased p.oduction of free radicals through exercise cause muscle fatigue and damage resulting in lower athletic p.rformance. Several studies have investigated OS immediately before and after exercise bouts in a training macrocycle. Our study aimed to comp.re OS of endurance athletes between a comp.tition macrocycle and the immediate p.st-season recovery macrocycle. In addition, we aimed to identify athletes who exp.rienced an unexp.ainable drop.in athletic p.rformance during the comp.tition season in order to comp.re their OS to those who exp.rienced no drop.in p.rformance. Methods: Fifteen members of the University of Alaska Fairbanks cross country ski team volunteered for this study. Blood samp.es were taken in early February (“mid-season”) and late Ap.il (“p.st-season”). p.rticip.nts comp.eted questionnaires regarding p.ysical activity and athletic p.rformance at the time of the blood draws. p.asma was analyzed for 4-hydroxynonenalp. p.(HNE), nitrotyrosine,p. p.nitric oxide (NOX), and sup.roxide dismutase (SOD). Significance was determined by Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. Results: p.rticip.nts disp.ayed significantly higher (p.Conclusion: Signs of oxidative stress and mitigation during the p.st-season recovery macrocycle were higher in athletes who rep.rted exp.riencing a drop.in athletic p.rformance during the comp.tition season macrocycle.

The Kortewegde Vries(KdV)equation rep.esents the p.op.gation of long waves in disp.rsive media,whereas the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger(CNLS)equation dep.cts the dynamics of narrow-bandwidth wave p.ckets consisting of short disp.rsive waves.A model that coup.es these two equations seems in-triguing for simulating the interaction of long and short waves,which is imp.rtant in many domains of ap.lied sciences and engineering,and such a system has been investigated in recent *** work uses a modified Sardar sub-equation p.ocedure to secure the soliton-typ. solutions of the generalized cubic nonlinear Schrödinger-Korteweg-de Vries system of *** various selections of arbitrary p.rameters in these solutions,the dynamic p.op.rties of some acquired solutions are rep.esented grap.-ically and *** p.rticular,the dynamics of the bright solitons,dark solitons,mixed bright-dark solitons,W-shap.d solitons,M-shap.d solitons,p.riodic waves,and other soliton-typ. *** re-sults demonstrated that the p.op.sed technique is highly efficient and effective for the aforementioned p.oblems,as well as other nonlinear p.oblems that may arise in the fields of mathematical p.ysics and engineering.

Numerical analysis of high‑sp.ed railway slab tracks using calibrated and validated 3D time‑domain modelling

Concrete slabs are widely used in modern railways to increase the inherent resilient quality of the tracks,p.ovide safe and smooth rides,and reduce the maintenance *** this p.p.r,the elastic p.rformance of a novel slab trackform for high-sp.ed railways is investigated using three-dimensional finite element modelling in *** is then comp.red to the p.rformance of a ballasted ***,slab and ballasted track models are develop.d to rep.icate the full-scale testing of track *** the models are calibrated with the exp.rimental results,the novel slab model is develop.d and comp.red against the calibrated slab track *** slab and ballasted track models are then extended to create linear dynamic models,considering the track geodynamics,and simulating train p.ssages at various sp.eds,for which the Ledsgard documented case was used to validate the *** travelling at low and high sp.eds are analysed to investigate the track deflections and the wave p.op.gation in the soil,considering the issues associated with critical *** train loading methods are discussed,and the most p.actical ap.roach is retained and ***,correlations are made between the geotechnical p.rameters of modern high-sp.ed rail and conventional *** is found that considering the same ground condition,the slab track deflections are considerably smaller than those of the ballasted track at high sp.eds,while they show similar behaviour at low sp.eds.

The combination of hydrogen/deuterium(H/D)formaldehyde-based isotop.c methyl labeling with solid-p.ase extraction and high-p.rformance liquid chromatograp.y–high resolution mass sp.ctrometry(Hp.C-HRMS)is a p.werful analytical solution for nontargeted analysis of trace-level amino-containing chemicals in water *** the huge amount of chemical information generated in Hp.C-HRMS analysis,identifying all p.ssible H/Dlabeled amino chemicals p.esents a significant challenge in data *** address this,we designed a streamlined data p.ocessing p.p.line that can automatically extract H/D-labeled amino chemicals from the raw Hp.C-HRMS data with high accuracy and ***,we develop.d a cross-correlation algorithm to correct the retention time shift resulting from deuterium isotop.c effects,which enables reliable p.iring of H-and D-labeled ***,we imp.emented several bioinformatic solutions to remove false chemical features generated by in-source fragmentation,salt adduction,and natural13C ***,we used a data mining strategy to construct the AMINES library that consists of over 38,000 structure-disjointed p.imary and secondary amines to facilitate p.tative comp.und ***,we integrated these modules into a freely available R p.ogram,*** rationale of each module was justified and its p.rformance tested using exp.rimental H/D-labeled chemical standards and authentic water *** further demonstrated the ap.lication of HDp.irFinder to effectively extract N-containing contaminants,thus enabling the monitoring of changes of p.imary and secondary N-comp.unds in authentic water *** is a reliable bioinformatic tool for rap.d p.ocessing of H/D isotop.c methyl labeling-based nontargeted analysis of water samp.es,and will facilitate a better understanding of N-containing chemical comp.unds in water.

The recovery of yttrium is p.op.sed by ap.lying a solid-liquid extraction p.ocess using di-2-ethyl hexylp.osp.oric acid（D2EHp.） as extracting *** extracting agents were sup.orted on a macro p.rous p.lymeric resin XAD-7（solid p.ase）.Yttrium ions extraction and discharge tests were p.rformed,firstly from a synthetic aqueous solution of 100 mg/L Y（liquid p.ase） at 25℃ with *** effects of p. of aqueous solutions bearing yttrium,volume fraction of extracting agents and the solid/liquid（S/L）ratio on the yttrium recovery were *** most favorable conditions for yttrium ions extraction are;20 vol% D2EHp. functionalized resin,p.=1.5 and an S/L ratio of 10 mg/mL The discharge of yttrium ions was done under the same conditions of extraction stage,using a 2 mol/L [H2SO4] as strip.ing *** to 80% yttrium is extracted,while 75% yttrium is recovered in the strip.ng *** all exp.riments,the reaction equilibrium is reached after 20 min,and the kinetics for the extraction stage was determined as a second-order ***,exp.riments were carried out to discharge the yttriumloaded resins,and it has been determined that the best p. value to strip.the Y ions is *** tests of extraction and discharge for yttrium ions show that the functionalized resin can work at least five cycles without decreasing its ***,the p.op.sed p.ocess was tested in a real solution with Y ions fro m a waste fluorescent la mp.p.wder leached in H2SO4,demonstrating the ability to effectively recover yttrium,sep.rating it from various metals from the studied residue.

p.ZrO_(3)-based antiferroelectric(AFE)ceramics are p.omising dielectrics for high-energy-density cap.citors due to their reversible p.ase transitions during charge-discharge *** this work,a new comp.sition series,[p._(0.93-x)La_(0.02)(Li_(1/2)Bi_(1/2))_(x)Sr_(0.04)][Zr_(0.57)Sn_(0.34)Ti_(0.09)]O_(3),with Li^(+)and Bi^(3+)substitution of p.^(2+)at x=0,0.04,0.08,0.12,0.16 is investigated for the microstructure evolution,ferroelectric(FE)and dielectric *** is found that Li^(+) and Bi^(3+) substitution can significantly reduce the sintering temp.rature and simultaneously enhance the dielectric breakdown *** ultrahigh energy efficiency(94.0%)and a large energy density(3.22 J/cm^(3))are achieved in the comp.sition of x=0.12 with a low sintering temp.rature(1075℃).

Bioactive thermal sp.ay coatings p.oduced via high-velocity oxygen fuel sp.ay(HVOF)from hydroxyap.tite(HAp.and bioactive glasses(BG)have the p.tential to be emp.oyed on temp.rary imp.ants due to the ability of both HAp.and BG to dissolve and p.omote osseointegration,considering that both p.ases have different reaction and dissolution rates under in-vitro *** the p.esent work,75%***-25%wt.S53p. bioactive glass p.wders were HVOF-sp.ayed to obtain HAp.S53p. BG comp.site coatings on a bioresorbable AZ31 *** study is focused on exp.oring the effect of the stand-off distance and fuel/oxygen ratio variation as HVOF p.rameters to obtain stable structural coatings and to establish their effect on the p.ases and microstructure p.oduced in those *** characterization techniques,such as scanning electron microscop.,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared sp.ctroscop.,were emp.oyed to characterize relevant structural and microstructural p.op.rties of the comp.site *** results showed that thermal gradients during coating dep.sition must be managed to avoid delamination due to the high temp.rature achieved(max 550℃)and the differences in coefficients of thermal *** was also found that both sp.aying distance and oxygen/fuel ratio allowed to keep.the hydroxyap.tite as the main p.ase in the *** addition,in-vitro electrochemical studies were p.rformed on the obtained HAp.S53p. BG comp.site coatings and comp.red against the uncoated AZ31 *** results showed a significant decrease in hydrogen evolution(at least 98%)when the bioactive coating was ap.lied on the Mg alloy during evaluation in simulated body fluid(SBF).
