A novel terminologic “naming-meshing” system using anterior chamber sedimentation for early diagnosis and prompt treatment of ocular or systemic diseases: is it hypopyon or pseudohypopyon?

A novel,algorithmic“naming-meshing”system was introduced for the distinction of hypopyon from pseudohypopyon to make an early diagnosis and prompt treatment of anterior chamber collection standardized to encompass all sediment *** this reason,a literature review of“hypopyon”and“pseudohypopyon”was conducted in MEDLINE/PubMed,Scopus,and Web of Science from 1966 to May 15,*** issues were clarified:1)which strategies should the ophthalmologist follow when asked to evaluate an eye with anterior chamber sedimentation to distinguish hypopyon from pseudohypopyon,and 2)in which systemic disorders should a non-ophthalmologist order a prompt ophthalmic consultation to distinguish pseudohypopyon from *** characteristics of the sediment were examined;scleral show(warm/cold),location(corneal/anterior chamber/capsular/posterior),visibility(macro/micro/occult-angle),orientation(horizontal/vertical/oblique),number(single/double),shape(convex/triangular/pyramidal/ring/lumpy/inverse),and color(white/yellow/pink/brown/black).Associated findings were then assessed;acute/chronic,spontaneous/provoked,unilateral/bilateral,inflammatory/non-inflammatory,suppurative(nonsterile)/non-suppurative(sterile),granulomatous/nongranulomatous,recurrent/non-recurrent,shifting/nonshifting,and transient/*** type of precipitation was named(naming)and matched(meshing)to a potential list of etiologies(inflammatory,infective,therapeutic,masquerades).Given that(pseudo)hypopyon predominantly afflicts younger patients in their most productive years,clinicians supervising such patients should be aware of all sediment *** ophthalmologist should never ask non-ophthalmologists to run the full battery of tests in a patient with(pseudo)hypopyon,and rather indicate which type of collection is present,what its pathognomonic feature is,and what the most likely diagnoses to be excluded are.

Whether and when did bitcoin sentiment matter for investors?Before and during the COVID‑19 pandemic

Using a wavelet coherence approach,this study investigates the relationship between Bitcoin return and Bitcoin-specific sentiment from January 1,2016 to June 30,2021,covering the COVID-19 pandemic *** results reveal that before the pandemic,sentiment positively drove prices,especially for relatively higher frequencies(2–18 weeks).During the pandemic,the relationship was still positive,but interestingly,the lead-lag relationship *** partial wavelet tools,we factor out the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths and the Equity Market Volatility Infectious Disease Tracker index to observe the direct relationship between a change in sentiment and *** results robustly reveal that,before the pandemic,sentiment had a positive effect on *** positive coherence still existed during the pandemic,the lead-lag relationship disappeared ***,the causal relationship that states that sentiment leads to return can only be integrated into short-term trading strategies(up to six weeks frequency).

Effects of tyrosine kinase inhibitor E7080 and eNOS inhibitor L-NIO on colorectal cancer alone and in combination

Objective：To investigate the effects of E7080 and N5-（1-iminoethyl）-L-ornithine dihydrochloride （L-NIO）on colorectal cancer alone and in ***：HT29 colorectal cancer cell line from Sap Institute was ***-time cell analysis （xCELLigence system） was performed to determine the effects of E7080 and L-NIO on colorectal cell *** apoptosis was determined with Annexin V staining,and the effect of agents on angiogenesis was determined with chorioallantoic membrane （CAM） ***：We found that E7080 has a strong antiproliferative effect with an half maximum inhibition of concentration （IC50） value of 5.60×10-8 mol/*** it has been observed that E7080 showed antiangiogenic and apoptotic effects on HT29 colorectal cancer *** scores of E7080 were 1.2,t.0 and 0.6 for 100,10 and 1 nmol/L E7080 concentrations,***,apoptosis has been detected in 71％ of HT29 colorectal cancer cells after administration of 100 nmol/L E7080 which may indicate strong apoptotic *** administration of L-NIO alone did not show any effect,but the combination of E7080 with L-NIO increased the antiproliferative,antiangiogenic and apoptotic effects of ***：Results of this study indicate that E7080 may be a good choice in treatment of colorectal *** the increased effects of E7080 when combined with L-NIO raise the possibility to use a lower dose of E7080 and therefore avoid/minimize the side effects observed with E7080.

Investigation of the effectiveness of LI4, LI10, LR3 and ST36 acupoints electroacupuncture in radialis and ulnaris nervus injuries

Background:Radial and ulnar nervus injuries are among the most common peripheral nerve injuries in veterinary *** this study,it was aimed to evaluate electroacupuncture applications in radialis and ulnaris nervus ***:New Zealand rabbits were used in the *** were divided into treatment groups and control *** treatment groups included the acute nerve injury group and the chronic nerve injury *** control groups included the positive control group(damaged but no treatment),and the negative control group(no damage but with electroacupuncture).Hegu(LI4),Shousanli(LI10),Taichong(LR3)and Zusanli(ST36)acupoints were used for electroacupuncture *** the treatment period,clinical examinations of the rabbits were ***:The deep pain sensation and resistance to the applied pulling force in the legs of the rabbits in the treatment groups(both acute nerve injury group and the chronic nerve injury group)were statistically significantly increased(P˂0.001 for all).Again,the rabbits in the treatment groups were found to be in a better condition than the positive control group in terms of using their legs while walking and using their claws,and there was a statistically significant difference(P˂0.001 for all).Electroacupuncture is an effective treatment for both acute and chronic nerve injuries,as well as being more effective in acute cases than in chronic ***:Electroacupuncture based on LI4,LI10,LR3 and ST36 acupoints is an effective treatment in rabbits’radial and ulnar nervus injuries.

Fasciola hepatica infestation as a very rare cause of extrahepatic cholestasis

Fasciola hepatica,an endemic parsaite in Furkey,is still a viry rare cause of cholestasis worodwide,Through ingestion of contaminated water plants like watercress,humans can become the definitive host of this parasite,Cholestatic symptoms may be sudden but in some cases they may be preceeded by a long period of fever,eosinophilia and vague gsatronintestinal symptoms,we report a woman with cholangitis symptoms of sudden omset which was proved to be due to Fasciloa hepatica infestation by an endoscopic retrograde cholangiography.

Gastrointestinal bezoars: A retrospective analysis of 34 cases

AIM: Bezoars (BZ) are the most common foreign bodies of gastrointestinal tract. Clinical manifestations vary depending on the location of BZ from no symptoms to acute abdominal syndrome. When located in small bowel, they frequently cause small bowel obstruction (SBO). We aimed to present our experience by reviewing ***: Thirty-four patients with gastrointestinal BZ were presented. The data were collected from hospital records and analyzed retrospectively. Morbidity and mortality rates were statistically analyzed between the subgroups according to SBO and endoscopic or surgical treatment ***: The 34 patients had phytobezoars (PBZ). Two patients with mental retardation and trichotillomania had trichobezoars (TBZ). More than half of them (55.88%) had previous gastric surgery. Also most of them had small bowel bezoars resulting in obstruction. Surgical and endoscopic morbidity rates were 32.14% and 14.28% *** total morbidity rate of this study was 29.41%. Four patients in surgically treated group died. There was no death in endoscopically treated group. The total and surgical mortality rates were 11.76% and 14.28% respectively. The differences in morbidity and mortality rates between the subgroups were not statistically ***: BZ are commonly seen in stomach and small intestine. SBO is the most common *** uncomplicated, endoscopic or surgical removal can be applied easily.
