The effect o. chro.ic administratio. o. the sigma ago.ist: 1,3-di-o.to.yl-guanidine (DTG), in neo.atal ventral hippo.ampal lesio.ed (nVHL) rats, o. the immo.ility by clamping and do.sal immo.ility, were investigated. The nVHL increases the duratio. o. immo.ility by clamping, but do.s no. affect the duratio. o. the do.sal immo.ility. We fo.nd that DTG augments the duratio. o. the do.sal immo.ility in the unlesio.ed rats, but do.s no. mo.ify the duratio. o. immo.ility induced by clamping the neck. DTG also.co.nteracts the increase in the duratio. o. the immo.ility by clamping pro.uced by nVHL. Ho.ever, the increase in the duratio. o. the do.sal immo.ility pro.uced by DTG is co.nteracted by nVHL. These results are discussed with respect to.the differential effect o. the two.immo.ility respo.ses tested, suggesting that they are different fo.ms o. immo.ility mediated by different mechanisms altho.gh they behavio.ally share co.mo. characteristics.

Fo.r immo.ility respo.ses (IR): elicited by clamping, bandaging, grasping and inversio., and their mo.ificatio. by po.assium and spiro.o.acto.e was studied in old Wistar rats (body weight, 500 g). When undrugged, only clamping and grasping, but not bandaging and inversion induced an IR in rats. Potassium and spironolactone significantly enhanced the duration of IR induced by clamping but not by grasping. They also induced an immobility response by bandaging, but not by inversion. The data suggest that IR induced by clamping and bandaging are somehow related too.t-family:Verdana;"> changes in the po.assium serum levels. Co.sequently, such a relatio.ship may be a suitable mo.el to.study so.e fo.ms o. paralysis in human beings which are related to.changes in the po.assium serum levels.

Sno. and Sb-do.ed Sno. particles were synthesized using the po.ymeric precurso. metho. with different Sn salt precurso.s： SnCl2.2H2o. SnCl4.5H20, o. Sn citrate. Sb2o. was used as the precurso. o. Sb, and the mo.ar ratio.o. nsn：nsb was held co.stant. FTIR and TGA/DTA were used to.examine the influence o. the Sn precurso. o. the fo.matio. and thermal deco.po.itio. o. the Sn and Sn-Sb co.plexes. The calcinatio. pro.ucts o.tained fro. heating the Sn and Sn-Sb co.plexes at 500℃ in air were analyzed using XRD and TEM analysis. The results revealed that the Sno. and Sb-do.ed Sno. fo.matio. temperatures depended o. the nature o. the Sn precurso.. The calcinatio. pro.ucts were fo.nd to.be Sno. and Sb-do.ed Sno. particles, which crystallized in a tetrago.al cassiterite structure with a highly preferred （110） planar o.ientatio.. The Sn precurso. and the presence o. Sb in the Sno. matrix stro.gly influenced the crystallinity and lattice parameters.

In this paper, a sliding mo.e co.tro. with adaptive gain co.bined with a high-o.der sliding mo.e o.server to.so.ve the tracking pro.lem fo. a quadro.o. UAV is addressed, in presence o. bo.nded external disturbances and parametric uncertainties. The high o.der sliding mo.e o.server is designed fo. estimating the linear and angular speed in o.der to.implement the pro.o.ed scheme. Furthermo.e, a Lyapuno. functio. is intro.uced to.design the co.tro.ler with the adaptatio. law, whereas an analysis o. finite time co.vergence to.ards to.zero.is pro.ided, where sufficient co.ditio.s are o.tained. Regarding previo.s wo.ks fro. literature, o.e impo.tant advantage o. pro.o.ed strategy is that the gains o. co.tro. are parameterized in terms o. o.ly o.e adaptive parameter, which reduces the co.tro. effo.t by avo.ding gain o.erestimatio.. This study presents an analysis o. the impact o. fo.est fires in Puerto.Rico.fo. the perio. fro. 2013-2014. The climato.o.ical facto.s analyzed included precipitatio., temperature, relative humidity, and wind. Several facto.s have co.bined to.the increase o. these fo.est fires, amo.g o.hers, a decrease in precipitatio. during this perio., as well as an increase in the human invo.vement in these fires fro. appro.imately 40% o.curs in the night perio. (5:00 pm to.8:00 am), where the weather co.ditio.s do.no. favo. the appearance o. these pheno.ena. An increase in fires o. 44% o.curred in 2013 co.pared to.2014, causing an eco.o.ic lo.s o. $13.8 millio.. Fire also.adversely affected the flo.a and fauna o. the island, but this was no. evaluated in this paper.
