IL-6-deficient Mice Are Susceptible to Ethanol-induced Hepatic Steatosis:IL-6 Protects against Ethanol-induced Oxidative Stress and Mitochondrial Permeability Transition in the Liver

Interleukin-6(IL-6)-deficient mice are prone to ethanol-induced apoptosis and steatosis in the liver;however, the underlying mechanism is not fully *** dysfunction caused by oxidative stress is an early event that plays an important role in the pathogenesis of alcoholic liver ***,we hypothesize that the protective role of IL-6 in ethanol-induced liver injury is mediated via suppression of ethanol-induced oxidative stress and mitochondrial *** test this hypothesis,we examined the effects of IL-6 on ethanol-induced oxidative stress,mitochondrial injury,and energy depletion in the livers of IL-6(-/-)mice and hepatocytes from ethanol-fed *** consumption leads to stronger induction of malondialdehyde(MDA) in IL-6(-/-)mice compared to wild-type control mice,which can be corrected by administration of *** vitro, IL-6 treatment prevents ethanol-mediated induction of reactive oxygen species(rOS),MDA,mitochondrial permeability transition(MPT),and ethanol-mediated depletion of adenosine triphosphate(ATP)in hepatocytes from ethanol-fed *** of IL-6 in vivo also reverses ethanol-induced MDA and ATP depletion in ***,IL-6 treatment induces metallothionein protein expression,but not superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase in cultured *** conclusion,IL-6 protects against ethanol-induced oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction in hepatocytes via induction of metailothionein protein expression,which may account for the protective role of IL-6 in alcoholic liver *** & Molecular Immunology.2004;1(3):205-211.

Software development is getting a transition from centralized version control systems(CVCSs)like Subversion to decentralized version control systems(DVCDs)like Git due to lesser efficiency of former in terms of branching,fusion,time,space,merging,offline commits&builds and repository,*** is having a share of 77%of total VCS,followed by Subversion with a share of 13.5%.The majority of software industries are getting a migration from Subversion to *** a few migration tools are available in the software ***,these too lack in many features like lack of identifying the empty directories as premigration check,failover capabilities during migration due to network failure or disk space issue,and detailed report generation as post-migration *** this work,a holistic,proactive and novel approach has been presented for pre/during/post-migration validation from Subversion to *** scripts have been developed and executed run-time over various projects for overcoming the limitations of existing migration software tools for a Subversion to Git *** premigration,none of the available migration tools has the capability to fetch empty directories of Subversion,which results in an incomplete migration from Subversion to *** Scripts have been developed and executed for pre-migration validation and migration preparation,which overcomes the problem of incomplete *** was conducted in SrLC Software research Lab,Chicago,*** the migration process,in case of loss of network connection or due to any other reason,if migration stops or breaks,available migration tools do not have capabilities to start over from the same point where it *** Scripts have been developed and executed to keep the migration revision history in the cache(elastic cache)to start from the same point where it was left due to connection *** post-migration,none of the available version control migration tools generate a detailed repo

As the number of sensor network application scenarios continues to grow,the security problems inherent in this approach have become obstacles that hinder its wide ***,it has attracted increasing attention from industry and *** blockchain is based on a distributed network and has the characteristics of non-tampering and traceability of block *** is thus naturally able to solve the security problems of the sensor ***,this paper first analyzes the security risks associated with data storage in the sensor networks,then proposes using blockchain technology to ensure that data storage in the sensor networks is *** the traditional blockchain,the data layer uses a Merkle hash tree to store data;however,the Merkle hash tree cannot provide non-member proof,which makes it unable to resist the attacks of malicious nodes in *** solve this problem,this paper utilizes a cryptographic accumulator rather than a Merkle hash tree to provide both member proof and non-member ***,the number of elements in the existing accumulator is limited and unable to meet the blockchain’s expansion *** paper therefore proposes a new type of unbounded accumulator and provides its definition and security ***,this paper constructs an unbounded accumulator scheme using bilinear pairs and analyzes its performance.

Deep Learning Multimodal for Unstructured and Semi-Structured Textual Documents Classicatio

Due to the availability of a huge number of electronic text documents from a variety of sources representing unstructured and semi-structured information,the document classication task becomes an interesting area for controlling data *** paper presents a document classication multimodal for categorizing textual semi-structured and unstructured *** multimodal implements several individual deep learning models such as Deep Neural Networks(DNN),recurrent Convolutional Neural Networks(rCNN)and Bidirectional-LSTM(Bi-LSTM).The Stacked Ensemble based meta-model technique is used to combine the results of the individual classiers to produce better results,compared to those reached by any of the above mentioned models individually.A series of textual preprocessing steps are executed to normalize the input corpus followed by text vectorization *** techniques include using Term Frequency Inverse Term Frequency(TFIDF)or Continuous Bag of Word(CBOW)to convert text data into the corresponding suitable numeric form acceptable to be manipulated by deep learning ***,this proposed model is validated using a dataset collected from several spaces with a huge number of documents in every *** addition,the experimental results prove that the proposed model has achieved effective ***,upon investigating the PDF Documents classication,the proposed model has achieved accuracy up to 0.9045 and 0.959 for the TFIDF and CBOW features,***,concerning the JSON Documents classication,the proposed model has achieved accuracy up to 0.914 and 0.956 for the TFIDF and CBOW features,***,as for the XML Documents classication,the proposed model has achieved accuracy values up to 0.92 and 0.959 for the TFIDF and CBOW features,respectively.

Advanced age and the clinical outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve implan-tation

Aortic valve stenosis （AS） is common in the elderly. Although surgical replacement of the valve has been the gold standard of management, many patients have been excluded from surgery because they were very old, frail, or had co-morbidities that increased operative risks. In the last decade, transcatheter aortic valve implantation （TAVI） has emerged as a new treatment option suitable for these patients. This article reviews the available literature on the role of TAVI in elderly patients with severe aortic stenosis. Published studies showed that elderly individuals who underwent TAVI experienced better in-hospital recovery, and similar short and mid-term mortality compared to those underwent surgical treatment of AS. However, long-term outcomes of TAVI in elderly patients are still unknown. The available data in the literature on the ef-fect of advanced age on clinical outcomes of TAVI are limited, but the data that are available suggest that TAVI is a beneficial and tolerable procedure in very old patients. Some of the expected complications after TAVI are reported more in the oldest patients such as vascular in-jures. Other complications were comparable in TAVI patients regardless of their age group. However, very old patients may need closer monitoring to avoid further morbidities and mortality.

ra's Abdah of the north Eastern Desert of Egypt:the role of granitic dykes in the formation of radioactive mineralization,evidenced by zircon morphology and chemistry

Syenogranitic dykes in the north of Egypt's Eastern Desert are of geological and economic interest because of the presence of magmatic and supergene enrichment of radioactive mineralization. Zircon crystal morphology within the syenogranitic dykes allows precise definition of sub-alkaline series granites and crystallized at mean temperature of about 637 °C. The growth pattern of the zircons suggest magmatic and hydrothermal origins of radioactive mineralization. Hydrothermal processes are responsible for the formation of significant zircon overgrowth; high U-zircon margins might have occurred contemporaneously with the emplacement of syenogranitic dykes which show anomalous uranium(e U) and thorium(e Th) contents of up to 1386 and 7330 ppm, *** chemistry revealed a relative increase of Hf consistent with decreasing Zr content, suggesting the replacement of Zr by Hf during hydrothermal *** uranium mineralization is present and recognized by the presence of uranophane and autunite.

Model-Free Adaptive Frequency Calibration for Voltage-Controlled Oscillators

The operating frequency accuracy of the local oscillators is critical for the overall system performance in the communication ***,the high-precision oscillators could be too expensive for civil *** this paper,we propose a model-free adaptive frequency calibration framework for a voltage-controlled crystal oscillator(VCO)equipped with a time to digital converter(TDC),which can significantly improve the frequency accuracy of the VCO thus *** idea is to utilize a high-precision TDC to directly measure the VCO period which is then passed to a model-free method for working frequency *** advantage of this method is that the working frequency calibration employs the system history of input/output(I/O)data,instead of establishing an accurate VCO voltagecontrolled oscillator *** advantage is the lightweight calibration method with low complexity such that it can be implemented on an MCU with limited computation *** results show that the proposed calibration method can improve the frequency accuracy of a VCO from±20 ppm to±10 ppb,which indicates the promise of the modelfree adaptive frequency calibrator for VCOs.

A New Action-Based reasoning Approach for Playing Chess

Many previous research studies have demonstrated game strategies enabling virtual players to play and take actions mimicking *** CaseBased reasoning(CBr)strategy tries to simulate human thinking regarding solving problems based on constructed *** paper suggests a new Action-Based reasoning(ABr)strategy for a chess *** strategy mimics human experts’approaches when playing chess,with the help of the CBr *** proposed engine consists of the following ***,an action library compiled by parsing many grandmasters’cases with their actions from different games is ***,this library reduces the search space by using two filtration steps based on the defined action-based and encoding-based similarity ***,the minimax search tree is fed with a list extracted from the filtering stage using the alpha-beta algorithm to prune the *** proposed evaluation function estimates the retrievably reactive ***,the best move will be selected,played on the board,and stored in the action library for future *** experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed ***,the engine played 200 games against rybka 2.3.2a scoring 2500,2300,2100,and 1900 rating ***,they used the Bayeselo tool to estimate these rating points of the *** results illustrated that the proposed approach achieved high rating points,reaching as high as 2483 points.

Effects of Bentonite,Hydrogel and Biochar Amendments on Soil Hydraulic Properties from Saturation to Oven Dryness

Effects of hydrogel, bentonite, and biochar as soil amendments on soil hydraulic properties and improving water availability from saturation to oven dryness were investigated. Soils were mixed with hydrogel (0.10%, 0.25%, and 0.50%), bentonite (0.5%, 1.0%, and 2.5%), and biochar (1.0%, 2.5%, and 5.0%) as soil amendments (weight:weight). Three methods (extended multistep outflow (XMSO), evaporation (EVA), and WP4 dewpoint potentiometer) were used to measure soil hydraulic properties from saturation to oven dryness. The cumulative XMSO results were more uniform across all the applied pressure steps for the amended soils. The EVA exhibited a shorter linear decrease during the first evaporation stage and a lower evaporation rate during the second evaporation stage. The WP4 results also exhibited that soil amendments increased the soil water content of the amended soils at low matric potentials. The results of soil water retention curves revealed that the unamended soil retained less water at any matric potential compared to the amended soils. Soil hydraulic conductivity decreased with increasing amount of soil amendments. The saturated hydraulic conductivity was higher for the unamended soil than the soils amended w计h 2.5% bentonite, 0.50% hydrogel, and 5.0% biochar by 11, 3, and 18 times, respectively. These results suggested that soil amendments improved soil water retentivity, which confirmed the appropriateness of these soil amendments for potential use in sandy soil improvements. However, field experiments and economical perception studies should be considered for further investigation.
