The chemical and petrological correlation of metamorphic nappes and klippes overlying the Proterozoic sedimentary units in the Kumaun Himalaya is still debated. The Ramgarh and Almora gneisses, not previously distinguished in the Askot Klippe, show distinct field, petrological and chemical signatures markedly similar to the tectonostratigraphic disposition of the Almora Nappe. A negative Eu anomaly in the Ramgarh granitic gneisses indicates lesser plagioclase fractionation while the Eu anomaly in the Almora pelitic gneisses is likely to have been controlled by feldspar crystallization in restites. During the anatexis at > 776°C temperature and >6.6 kbar pressure, the melt moved slightly away to its crystallization sites. The Rb/Sr ratio ?0.54 and Nb ?10 ppm is consistent with the granodioritic composition. The negative Sr anomaly in the underlying Ramgarh granitic gneisses indicates a distinct mantle derived source/plagioclase fractionation with a notable correspondence to other late orogenic granites, particularly the basement Ulleri gneisses from the Nepal Himalaya. Ramgarh gneisses plot in the late-and post-COLG field. The Askot ensemble is likely to be the tectonometamorphically reworked basement, viz. the Ramgarh Group along with its metapelitic cover o f the Almora Group, together comprising southward thrust remnants of the leading edge of the Indian Plate that collided with Tibet during the Tertiary Himalayan orogeny.

A patient with myoclonus- dystonia syndrome was treated by implanting electr odes in the internal segment of the globus pallidus (GPi) and applying deep brai n stimulation. Surgery was done in two sessions. The most affected limb was trea ted first and the other limb one year later. Neuronal recordings showed that mos t pallidal neurones discharged in bursts at a relatively low firing rate (mean ( SD), 46 (18) Hz) compared with cells in the GPi in patients with Parkinson’ s d isease. Neurones modified the rate and mode of discharge with dystonic postures and rapid involuntary contractions of limb muscles. Neurological examination at 24 months after surgery showed a decline of 47.8% and 78.5% in the Burke- F ahn- Marsden and disability rating scales, respectively.

40ar/39ar dating of diagenetic illite has been performed to investigate gas reservoirs in the Sulige Gas Field of the northern Ordos Basin. A series of technical challenges were confronted, including illite purification, ar recoil loss, and separation of diagenetic illite from detrital illite. Mineral growth ages for diagenetic illite were obtained by this experiment, from which the age of gas emplacement was deduced to be later than 169 Ma.

Intraspecies colour variations in cultivated edible mushrooms present novel and potentially valuable alternatives to the research and cultivation *** this study,we collected,identified,and domesticated a white strain of Auricularia cornea from *** brown strain of *** is one of the top two species of Auricularia cultivated and traded in *** both white and brown phenotypes of *** belong to a single species,we established their similarities or *** morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of ITS rDNA sequence data were used to confirm the taxonomic placement of the white *** strain in the same clade with the brown *** analysis showed that fat,fiber,protein,and total soluble sugar contents of the white *** were significantly higher than the commercially used brown *** melanin content of the white strain of ***(less than 1.5 mg/100g)was not significantly different from that of the brown *** discovery may create new opportunities for the mushroom growing industry and for smallholder farmers in Asia.

The improved beam sources CO(a,v≤4) and CO(a,v≤3) are produced in a beam-gas experiment by collision of CO2 with He (23 S) and ar (3P0,2) *** energy transfer reaction of CO(a) with NO(x) mainly give NO(A,v).The vibrational didribution of CO(a) has a considerable effect on that of NO(A,v) and the vibrational distributions of NO(A,v) follow the energy gap law and the Franck -Condon (F-C) principle.

The impedance properties in polarized piezoelectric can be described by electric equivalent *** classic circuit used in the literature to describe real systems is formed by one resistor(R),one inductance(L)and one capacitance C connected in series and one capacity(C_(0))connected in parallel with the ***,the equation that describe the resonance and anti-resonance frequencies depends on a complex manner of R,L,C and C_(0).In this work is proposed a simpler model formed by one inductance(L)and one capacity(C)in series;one capacity(C_(0))in parallel;one resistor(R_(p))in parallel and one resistor(Rs)in series with other *** the traditional circuit,the equivalent circuit elements in the proposed model can be simply determined by knowing the experimental values of the resonance frequency fr,anti-resonance frequency fa,impedance module at resonance frequency|Z|,impedance module at anti-resonance frequency|Za|and low frequency capacitance C_(0),without ftting the im-pedance experimental data to the obtained equation.

AIM Evaluate the association between phase angle and the development of hepatic encephalopathy in the longterm follow-up of cirrhotic *** This was a prospective cohort study. Clinical, nutritional and biochemical evaluations were performed. MannWhitney's U and χ2 tests were used as appropriate. Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox proportional Hazards analysis were used to evaluate the prediction and incidence of hepatic *** Two hundred and twenty were included; the most frequent etiology of cirrhosis was hepatitis C infection, 52% of the patients developed hepatic encephalopathy(18.6% covert and 33.3% overt); the main precipitating factors were infections and variceal bleeding. KaplanMeier curves showed a higher proportion of HE in the group with low phase angle(39%) compared to the normal phase angle group(13%)(P = 0.012). Furthermore, creatinine and phase angle remained independently associated to hepatic encephalopathy in the Cox regression multivariate analysis [hazard ratio = 1.80(1.07-3.03)]. CONCLUSION In our cohort of patients low phase angle was associated with an increased incidence of hepatic encephalopathy. Phase angle is a useful nutritional marker that evaluates cachexia and could be used as a part of the integral assessment in patients with cirrhosis.
