Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is an important cash crop in Honduras. The availability of inexpensive irrigation in the study area (Flores, La Villa de San Antonio, Comayagua) encourages rice farmers to neglect prescribed methods of soil and water conservation, such land leveling, puddling, and soil bunds. This study looked at the effect of failure to mitigate water loss on sloping fields. Soil moisture (Volumetric Water Content) was measured using a soil moisture probe after the termination of the first irrigation within the tillering/vegetative, panicle emergence/flowering, post-flowering/pre-maturation and maturation stages. Yield data were obtained by harvesting on 1 m2 plots in each soil moisture testing site. Data analyses looked at the relationship between yield and slope, soil moisture, farmers, and toposequential position along transects. Toposequential position influenced yields more than slope and soil moisture was not a significant predictor of yields. Irrigation politics, high water inputs, and land tenure were proposed as the major reasons for this result.

The halictid genus Lasioglossum,as one of the most species-rich bee groups with persistently contentious subgeneric boundaries,is one of the most challenging bee groups from a systematic *** enduring question is the relationship of La-sioglossum and Homalictus,whether all halictine bees with weakened distal wing ve-nation comprise one or multiple ***,we analyzed the phylogenetic relation-ships among the subgroups within Lasioglossum *** on thousands of single-copy orthologs and ultraconserved elements,which were extracted from 23 newly sequenced low-coverage whole genomes alongside a published genome(22 ingroups plus 2 out-groups).Both marker sets provided consistent results across maximum likelihood and coalescent-based species tree *** phylogenetic and topology test results show that the Lasioglossum and Hemihalictus series are reciprocally monophyletic and Homa-lictus and Rostrohalictus are valid subgenera of ***,we lower Homalictus to subgenus status within Lasioglossum again,and we also raise Rostrohalic-tus to subgenus status from its prior synonymy with subgenus *** przewalskyi is also transferred to the subgenus ***,we redefine La-sioglossum to include all halictine bees with weakened distal wing venation.

Despite the urgent need for conservation consideration,strategic action plans for the preservation of the Asian honeybee,Apis cerana Fabricius,1793,remain *** the convergent and divergent adaptations of this widespread insect have led to confusing phenotypical traits and inconsistent infraspecific *** subspecies boundaries pose a significant challenge to honeybee conservation efforts,as it is difficult to effectively prioritize conservation targets without a clear understanding of subspecies ***,we investigated genome variations in 362 worker bees representing almost all populations of mainland *** to understand how evolution has shaped its population ***-genome single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)based on nuclear sequences revealed eight putative subspecies,with all seven peripheral subspecies exhibiting mutually exclusive monophyly and distinct genetic divergence from the widespread central *** results demonstrated that most classic morphological traits,including body size,were related to the climatic variables of the local habitats and did not reflect the true evolutionary history of the ***,such morphological traits were not suitable for subspecific ***,wing vein characters showed relative independence to the environment and supported the subspecies boundaries inferred from nuclear *** phylogeny further indicated that the present subspecies structure was a result of multiple waves of population divergence from a common *** on our findings,we propose that criteria for subspecies delineation should be based on evolutionary independence,trait distinction,and geographic *** formally defined and described eight subspecies of mainland *** of the evolutionary history and subspecies boundaries enables a customized conservation strategy for both widespread and endemic honeybee conservation units,guiding colony introduction and

＜正＞ The paper introduces the general problems of least cost control of water supply and distribution systems. Typical systems consist of multi-reservoir networks incorporating pipes, pumps and valves. As a consequence the requirement to operate the system in an efficient manner, while continually satisfying the consumer demands, poses a complex dynamic control problem. From a theoretical viewpoint these systems are large-scale, non-linear and highly interactive. Optimization must cater for combinations of discrete and continuous controls and allow for state and control constraints. Practical techniques for simulation, modelling, prediction and optimization are reviewed together with some industrial applications.

Background andAims:Hepatitis C Virus(HCV)is uniformly recurrent after liver transplant(LT)and recurrence is associated with an increased risk of *** medications increase the risk of chronic kidney disease,and the presence of chronic kidney disease presents a challenge for HCV treatment in LT *** aim of this study was to assess changes in glomerular filtration rates(GFRs)of LT recipients receiving HCV ***:This is a retrospective study of LT patients who received HCV treatment between 2015 and 2016(n=60).The outcomes of interest were differences in serum creatinine levels and in GFR,measured at treatment initiation and at 24 weeks after *** average age of the patients was 59 years-old,and 17%were cirrhotic and 67%were *** patients received sofosbuvir/ledipasvir without ***:All patients achieved sustained virologic response at 12 weeks after treatment(SVR12).At baseline,55%of patients had GFR60 mL/min per 1.73 *** those patients,GFR did not change in 81%,and 19%had worsened *** the entire cohort,65%of patients had improved or stable GFR and 35%had worsened *** average change in serum creatinine between baseline and 24 weeks was 0.10(p=0.18).Conclusions:This study showed improved or unchanged GFR in 65%and worsened GFR in 35%of LT recipients who achieved *** of GFR was more frequently encountered in those with impaired renal function at *** should be used when treating HCV in LT recipients,especially those with baseline status of renal impairment.

We assessed the spatial distribution of Copernicia alba Morong. In the study area, a lowland palm savanna floodplain, C. alba is the only overstory species. We hypothesized C. alba would be randomly distributed within natural stands. Palms were tallied in six randomly located 0.25 haplots and analyzed using a first-order, Ripley’s K function to assess the distribution of juvenile, adult, and total palm populations. While the total population had either aggregated or random distributions, when analyzing juvenile and adult population separately, we found juveniles were consistently more aggregated than the adults.
