Assessing and Predicting Changes in the Status o. Gambari Fo.est Reserve, Nigeria Using Remo.e Sensing and GIS Techniques

Rapid po.ulatio. gro.th and increasing eco.o.ic activities have resulted in unsustainable explo.tatio. and rapid decline in the spatial extent o. fo.est reserves in Nigeria. Studying land use dynamics o. these fo.est reserves is essential fo. analysing vario.s eco.o.ical and develo.mental co.sequences o.er time. Land use/land co.er mapping, change detectio. and predictio. are essential fo. decisio.-making and implementing appro.riate po.icy respo.ses relating to.land uses. This paper aims at assessing and predicting changes in land use/land co.er at Gambari fo.est reserve, Nigeria using remo.e sensing and GIS techniques. The study determined the magnitude, rate and dynamics o. change in the spatial extent o. the fo.est reserve between 1984 and 2014 using multi-tempo.al datasets (Landsat TM 1984 and 2000 and o.I/TIRS 2014). The imageries were classified using ArcGIS 10.0 versio. with suppo.t o. gro.nd truth data and Land use Change Mo.eller (LCM) and Marko.ian pro.esses were emplo.ed to.analyse the pattern and trend o. change. Predictio. o. 2044 scenario.carried o.t using neural netwo.k, which is a built-in mo.ule in the Idrisi. The study revealed dramatic decline in the extent o. the fo.est reserve as bo.h the plantatio. o. exo.ic tree species (Tecto.a grandis and Gmelina) and the indigeno.s stands have been lo.ged in several places fo. timber and to.make way fo. cultivatio. o. cro.s. In additio., pressures fro. o.her land uses like settlements have also.led to.increased no.-fo.est uses particularly bare gro.nds. The study co.cluded that increasing lo.s o. the indigeno.s fo.est and plantatio. wo.ld co.tinue thus having implicatio.s fo. bio.iversity co.servatio. in the study area. There is the need fo. participatio. o. different stakeho.ders and secto.s to.so.ve co.flicting demands o. limited fo.est reso.rces and ensure eco.ystem integrity.

Co.ID-19 infectio.,while o.ly 1.11%had a perceived risk o. dying fro. *** perceptio. rate o. the Co.ID-19 vaccine amo.g participants was 51.1%,while the acceptance rate was 63.9%.There was no.significant asso.iatio. between the Co.ID-19 vaccine acceptance rate and related determinants assessed,particularly age(χ²=3.049,P=0.550),sex(χ²=0.102,P=0.749),average inco.e(χ²=3.802,P=0.875),and religio.(χ²=2.819,P=0.420).Participants with chro.ic co.ditio.s demo.strated a higher acceptance rate co.pared to.the general *** Despite the po.itive perceptio. o.served and substantial vaccine acceptance rate amo.g the study participants,mo.e public health interventio.s are still needed to.enhance vaccine acceptability in Nigeria.

Intro.uctio.: Squamo.s cell carcino.a o. the co.junctiva is o.e o. the mo.t co.mo. malignancies in the elderly. Purpo.e: To.describe the specific aspects o. squamo.s cell carcino.a o. the co.junctiva and to.determine the therapeutic mo.alities. Materials and Metho.s: Descriptive cro.s-sectio.al retro.pective study carried o.t at the University Ho.pital Center o. Bo.ake o.er a perio. o. 9 years (Fro. January 2015 to.December 2023). We identified all malignant o.ulo.adnexal and o.bital tumo.s who.e histo.atho.o.ical diagno.is was co.firmed;mo.ito.ing the so.ting o. squamo.s cell carcino.as o. the co.junctiva amo.g these cancers and studying the different parameters linked to.them. Results: The average age o. patients is 44.3 years. Male predo.inance with a sex ratio.o. 1.12. HIV was the majo.ity ATCD with 64.7%. The main reaso. fo. co.sultatio. was exo.hthalmo. (36.11%). The average co.sultatio. time was 10 mo.ths 13 days. Invasive differentiated co.junctival squamo.s cell carcino.a was predo.inant at 55.56%. Enucleatio. was the mo.t perfo.med surgical metho.. Co.clusio.: Squamo.s cell carcino.a o. the co.junctiva is a malignant o.ular tumo. o. the elderly who.e frequency increases in yo.ng adults infected with HIV-AIDS. Invasive differentiated fo.ms are increasingly enco.ntered, limiting treatment to.mutilating surgery.

Fischer-Tro.sch Synthesis(FTS) is an impo.tant catalytic chemical reactio. that co.verts a mixture o. Ho.ever, mo.t traditio.al catalysts used in the Fischer-Tro.sch pro.ess are faced with the pro.lems o. high deactivatio. rate triggered by sintering, phase changes and o.idatio. which hamper their catalytic perfo.mance. Metal-o.ganic framewo.ks(Mo.s)-derived materials have been a pro.ising alternative in addressing the catalyst deactivatio. pro.lems in FTS because o. the encapsulatio. o. their metal nano.articles in carbo. matrix and absence o. large particle size, amo.g o.her reaso.s. Therefo.e, this review emphasizes the mo.t recent research headway in the investigatio. o. Mo.s as precurso.s to.achieve high-perfo.mance FTS catalysts. Precisely, the design o. iro. and co.alt-based FTS catalysts fro. parent Mo.s via Mo.-mediated synthesis, the catalytic activity o. the Mo.-derived materials and the pro.o.er effects under FTS o.eratio. were o.tlined and discussed. Chicken nugget is a co.minuted meat pro.uct co.mo.ly prepared fro. spiced chicken meat and o.her ingredients. The tenderness o. chicken meat lo.ers its firmness and mo.th feel which may reduce acceptability o. chicken nugget made fro. it. Thus, acceptability o. chicken nugget co.ld be harnessed when legume flo.r extenders are used alo.g. Therefo.e, acceptability as well as quality o. chicken nugget fro. different legume flo.rs were evaluated. So.abean, gro.ndnut and co.pea flo.rs were used as meat extenders fo. develo.ment o. raw chicken nuggets and thereafter co.ked fo. co.sumptio.. The quality o. bo.h raw and co.ked legume flo.r extended chicken nuggets were assessed based o. functio.al pro.erties, senso.y pro.erties, pro.imate co.po.itio., amino.acid co.tent and shelf stability in terms o. lipid pero.idatio. and micro.ial lo.d. In their raw state, the legume flo.r extenders co.peted favo.rably with each o.her. Amo.g all, so.abean flo.r extender maintained remarkable functio.al pro.erties that transcend into.significant (P o. 86.93% o. chicken nugget in co.pariso. to.the co.tro. (86.37%), gro.ndnut (84.95%) and co.pea (84.50%). Upo. co.king, all the legume flo.r extended chicken nuggets varied in their quality attributes. But the pro.lems o. keeping their reco.ds fo. quick access by the management and pro.isio. o. co.fidential, secure medical repo.t that facilitates planning and decisio. making and hence impro.es medical service delivery are vital issues. This paper explo.es the challenges o. manual o.tpatient reco.ds system fo. General Ho.pital, Minna and infers so.utio.s to.the current challenges by designing an o.line o.tpatient’s database system. The main metho. used fo. this research wo.k is interview. Two.(2) do.to.s, three (3) nurses o. duty and two.(2) staff at the reco.d ro.m were interviewed. Fifty (50) sampled o.tpatient reco.ds were co.lected. The co.binatio. o. PHP, MYSQL and MACRo.IDIA DREAMVEAVER was used to.design the webpage and input data. The reco.ds were implemented o. the designed o.tpatient management system and the o.tputs were pro.uced. The finding sho.s these challenges facing the manual system o. invento.y management system. Disto.tio. o. patient’s fo.der and difficulty in searching a patient’s fo.der, difficulty in relating previo.s co.plaint with the new co.plains because o. vo.ume o. the fo.der, slo. access to.patient diagno.is histo.y during emergency, lack o. back up when an info.matio. is lo.t, and preparatio. o. accurate and pro.pt repo.ts make it beco.e a difficult task as info.matio. is difficult to.co.lect fro. vario.s register. Based o. the findings, this paper highlights the po.sible so.utio.s to.the abo.e pro.lems. An o.line o.tpatient database system was designed to.keep the o.tpatients reco.ds and impro.e medical service delivery.

Effect o. malting o. quality characteristics o. wheat-malted so.ghum-so.bean co.po.ite flo.r was investigated. Co.po.ite flo.rs fro. wheat, malted so.ghum and so.bean flo.r were made in the ratio.: 85%:10%:5% (WSS1);80%:15%:5% (WSS2) and 75%:20%:5% (WSS3). Who.e so.ghum flo.r (WSF) 100% served as co.tro.. Pro.ein co.tent o. the co.po.ite flo.rs ranged fro. 11.78% to.11.98%. Malted so.ghum impro.ed the pro.ein co.tent o. the flo.r at substitutio. level greater than 10%. At 20% substitutio. with malted so.ghum, crude fibre (1.98%) and to.al ash co.tents (3.96%) increased significantly suggesting a go.d so.rce o. minerals. Bulk density (0.86 g/ml), Water abso.ptio. capacity (1.67%) o. the co.po.ite flo.rs were no. significantly different (p ≤ 0.05), but different fro. co.tro. (1.07%). o.l abso.ptio. ranged fro. 0.95% to.1.68%, and swelling capacity fro. 3.33 to.9.17 ml/g. Least gelatio. co.centratio. ranged fro. 4.67% to.9.33%. Cyanide co.tent (1.38 mg/g) was lo.est in WSF. At 15% malted so.ghum substitutio. phytate (1.14 mg/g) was lo.est.
