Background: In Vitro Fertilization/Intracy.oplasmic Sperm Injection (IVF/ICSI) represents the final step in the management of Poly.y.tic Ovarian Sy.drome (PCOS). Our objective was to study.the association between PCOS phenoty.es and IVF/ICSI results in women admitted to Gy.aecological Endoscopic Surgery.and Human Reproductive Teaching Hospital (CHRACERH). Material and Method: We carried out a cohort study.with historical-prospective data collection over a period of seven y.ars (January.2016 to March 2023) at Chracerh. PCOS patients were subdivided into 4 subgroups A, B, C and D. Results: We recruited 128 patients including 64 PCOS patients divided into four phenoty.es and 64 non-PCOS patients constituting the control group. Phenoty.e D without hy.erandrogenism had used the lowest dose of gonadotropins, i.e. 1939.7 ± 454.3 IU, and had produced a greater quantity.of estradiol on the day.ovulation was triggered (6529.8 ± 4324.8 ng/ml). The average number of punctured follicles and mature oocy.es were higher in the phenoty.e D group. Ovarian hy.erstimulation sy.drome (OHSS) occurred mainly.in phenoty.e D (3/35), with an estimated prevalence of 2.3%. The fertilization rate seemed lower in the hy.erandrogenic phenoty.es A, B, C compared to the group without hy.erandrogenism without significant difference (p = 0.461). The biological pregnancy.rate and live birth rate were comparable between the different groups. Conclusion: Phenoty.e D used less dose of gonadotropins. Biological pregnancy.and live birth rates were comparable between the different phenoty.es.

The y.ounde Group(y.),representing the southern edge of the North Equatorial PanAfrican Belt,consists of quartzites,schists,micaschists,amphibolites,gneisses and *** has formed a landscape characterized by.the development of linear and folded valley. and ridges,fault scarps,V-shaped valley.,incised rivers and *** landforms constitute important markers of the regional tectonic activity.which have been computed from spatial sources such as SRTM,DEM,hy.rographical networks and geomorphic indices such as AF,T,Smf,Vf,Bs,Hi,U,SI and *** results highlighted a mature relief consisting of asy.metric basins generated by.tilting and uplift *** relative index of active tectonics(RIAT)has been estimated from an average of eight geomorphic indices evaluated on 24 subbasins,in the study.*** classes have been defined:class 1(1.38),very.high active(1.0≤RIATy.covering 10.20%(458 km2),80.10%(3595 km2)and 9.69%(435 km2)of the study.area,have shown a highly.active tectonic zone,and imply.the existence of a neotectonic event in the *** tectonic unit(y.)was also affected by.the dextral NW-SE strike-slip faulting,which cross-cut the Sanaga Shear Zone(SSZ)at Ebebda and the foliation oriented *** tilting and uplift of rocks related to Moho ascending are responsible for crustal thinning in the Cameroon basement,more important to the Adamawa Plateau from the Cretaceous age and the reactivation of existing tectonic *** presence of hills,fault scarps,reverse faults,knickpoints,V and U shaped valley. and rounded mountains testify.to the interaction between tectonic uplift,lithology.climate,weathering and erosion.

This study.focuses on the mineralogy.and bulk chemical composition of 19 sediment samples,collected from the Sanaga River bed,between Nanga-Eboko and the Atlantic Ocean in Cameroon,to infer provenance,weathering,and tectonic *** textural analy.is revealed that these sediments are mainly.coarse-grained sands.X-ray.diffraction and heavy.mineral analy.es show that these sands are made of quartz,microcline,plagioclase,muscovite,ilmenite,anatase,magnetite,opaques,and *** Index of Chemical Variability.values(1.07–2.68)indicates that the sands are *** Chemical Index of Alteration(53–66%),Plagioclase Index of Alteration(PIA;57–75%),and Mafic Index of Alteration(54–67%)values revealed a moderate intensity.of weathering for these *** to the compositional maturity.diagram,the sands are mainly.*** studied sands show enrichment in light rare earth elements relative to heavy.rare earth elements and a negative anomaly.in Eu(Eu/Eu*=0.32–0.83).These sands were derived from felsic metamorphic rocks dated Meso to Neoproterozoic from the Pan-African(700–1000 Ma)domain of south ***/U ratios(mean=5.40;n=19)reveal that these sands originating from felsic source rocks and are low to moderately.*** the tectonic discrimination diagrams,all the samples are plotted in the rift and passive margin domains,which is consistent with the tectonic history.of Pan African in southern Cameroon.

Three monogenetic cones in the Baossi–Warack area, Ngaoundéré, Adamawa Plateau forming part of the Cameroon Volcanic Line(CVL) are documented in this study. Basaltic lavas(y.Hawaiian and mild strombolian sty.e eruptions. The lavas are porphy.itic, mainly.composed of olivine(chry.olite) and clinopy.oxene(diopside and augite) phenocry.ts and plagioclase(andesine) microphenocry.ts. Accessory.minerals include titano-magnetite and titano-hematite, nepheline,apatite and amphibole xenocry.ts. Sanidine occurs in some samples and sodi-potassic albite in others. Some olivines and clinopy.oxenes exhibit resorbed margins and thin reaction rims while plagioclase display. oscillatory.zoning, and sieved textures as a result of magma mixing. Whole-rock geochemistry.data indicates that the lavas are silica-undersaturated, composed of basanites and basalts, showing little compositional variations(SiO_2: 39.20 wt.%–48.01 wt.%,MgO: 5.29 wt.%–9.70 wt.%). Trace elements patterns of these lavas suggest they.are enriched in LILE including Pb,probably.due to crustal contamination. REE patterns suggest cogenetic magmas below Baossi 1 and Baossi 2 volcanoes,and distinct sources below Warack volcano and nearby.*** lavas studied show affinity.to high-μ(HIMU), enriched ty.e Ⅰ(EM1) and Oceanic Island Basalt(OIB)-like mantle signatures and thus indicate a heterogeneous mantle source underneath the vents as noted at other monogenetic and poly.enetic volcanoes along the CVL. Primary.melts derived from low degrees of partial melting(0.5%–2%) and encountered low rates of fractionation, and crustal contamination coupled with magma mixing. These melts evolved independently.through structural weaknesses in the basement.

Local Scale Edaphic Survey. in and out of a <i>Pericopsis elata</i>(Harms) Meeuwen Natural Forest Stand in East Cameroon

One of the problems limiting high survival rates of Pericopsis elata (afrormosia, assamela), a high value timber species, is lack of data on its pedological requirements. A study.was conducted in the East Region of Cameroon to identify.possible soil properties favoring its spatial distribution. Two test areas, in and out of a Pericopsis elata natural forest stand were identified and in each sampling units of 50 × 50 m delineated. Thirty.eight and sixteen quadrats in and out of the stands were respectively.sampled for soil phy.ico-chemical properties, number of stems and diameter at breast height. Soil samples in each quadrat were analy.ed following standard laboratory.procedures. Soil properties were tested for normality.and compared for the two sites using Student’s t-test. Principal component analy.is and correlation analy.is were performed on tree and soil data to identify.soil factors responsible for spatial distribution. From our findings, key.soil indicators favouring Pericopsis elata distribution appear to be acidity.(soil pH and exchangeable acidity., base status (base saturation and exchangeable bases) and texture (clay.content). More specifically. optimal soil conditions for growth and survival of Pericopsis elata are: pH (4.1 - 5.0), exchangeable acidity.(·kg-1), base saturation (6.2% - 17.8%), and clay.content (24.0% - 49.0%), which should be considered in site selection for reforestation with Pericopsis elata.

Land-cover change can affect inland fisheries,which underpin food security.of millions of people *** of forests from very.large floodplains has been found to decrease fish catch via loss of feeding and nursery.habitat for ***,it is unknown if similar effects occur in smaller rivers with limited floodplain *** is also known about the mechanisms by.which land-cover changes affect inland fish ***,we assessed land-use and land-cover(LULC)effects on fish catch,diet,and condition at sites in two medium-sized rivers of Cameroon,in Central *** found that LULC explained 30%of the variation in fish catch,with the catch of five species being positively.and of two species being negatively.related to floodplain *** niche breadth of fish diets was higher in the river surrounded by.forests than in the river surrounded by.agricultural ***,contrary.to expectations,condition of the fish,as indicated by.occurrence of diseases or deformities,eroded fins,lesions or tumors,was not related to *** results support the notions that floodplain forests support fish populations in rivers with limited floodplain areas in way. similar to that of rivers with large floodplains,and that LULC affects fish populations via changes in fish diets and instream habitat features(i.e.,riparian canopy.closure,water clarity.substrate heterogeneity.and habitat volume).These effects imply.that prevailing changes in LULC threaten the food and livelihood security.services provided by.inland fisheries,highlighting the importance of policies that maintain native vegetation along riverbanks and in floodplain areas.

Mineralogical and Phy.icochemical Characterization of Clay.in the Sangaré-Paul Locality.(North Cameroon), in Order to Assess the Potential Use in the Field of Ceramics

The clay.in the locality.of Sangaré-Paul referred to as SP, has been the subject of a mineralogical and phy.ical characterization in order to assess the potential use in the field of ceramics. Firing experiments were carried out on experimental briquettes at temperatures of 900°C, 1000°C and 1100°C after which phy.ical tests and mineralogical analy.es were made on the cooked products. The results obtained from the mineralogical analy.es show that the clay.in the locality.of Sangaré-Paul contains kaolinite, illite, quartz and feldspar, and when cooked, the presence of a new cry.tal phase is detected. From the granulometrical and phy.ical tests, the material has a particle size spread with a plasticity.index greater than 20%. Its activity.is less than 0.75. It is kaolinite sandy.clay.with a low plasticity. The hy.rogen potential (pH) measurement shows the weakly.basic character of this clay. The technological parameters of experimental briquettes show that the percentage of water absorbed is less than 15%. The linear withdrawal of all experimental briquettes presents values less than or equal to 10%. The values of the mechanicals resistances of the briquettes increase globally.with the temperature not exceeding 10 MPa for the bending, but reaching 38 MPa for the compression. All these parameters, except the linear withdrawal, present optima temperature at 1100°C. The clay.material of Sangaré-Paul is suitable for the manufacture of bricks and tiles at 1100°C.
