This study describes the advantages of using iron-oxide-pillared MF (montmorillonite) and EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid)-pillared MD (montmorillonite) for the removal of fluoride in the phosphoric acid. The MF and MD were characterized by using BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) and SEM (scanning electron microscope) for there to appreciate their textural and structural properties and in order to appraise their capacity in the fixation of the fluorine experimental results of fluorine adsorption show a defluoration of the phosphoric acid passing beyond 90% with both clays with a light performance for the MD. The kinetics of fluorine adsorption on MF and on MD has been measured at different temperatures. Indeed, the adsorbed quantity increases more favorably to temperatures more high. This kinetics could be described by two models: pseudo-first-order or pseudo-second-order, which depends on temperature and the nature of adsorbent. At different temperatures used and with various adsorbents (MD and MF, the pseudo second order model was the most reliable to determine the order of kinetics of adsorption of fluorine, which is also reflected a good correlation coefficient (above 0.99). The fluoride sorption was reasonably explained with Langmuir or Freundlich isotherms. Thermodynamic parameters such as ΔG°, ΔH°, ΔS° and kinetic one Ea (apparent activation energy) were calculated in order to understand the nature of sorption process. Results indicate that the mechanism of adsorption of the ion of fluoride on the pillared montmorillonite is an exothermic reaction. During equilibrium conditions, both the systems showed negative Gibbs energy, which indicates stability of system. The values of apparent activation energy for the both clays show that the adsorption of F- ions is easier on the MF.

The aim of the study was to examine the effect of Newcomb ball (also known by the name of catchball) training on the physical fitness of women at midlife. One hundred and eighteen women, aged 29 - 45 yrs, were assigned to an experimental group (EG) or a control group (CG), and completed two similar sets of tests before and after seven months of training. The EG performed two Newcomb ball training sessions per week that included technical and tactical drills with and without the ball, small sided games and full games at different variations. The CG remained non-active throughout the seven months. Leg power, arm power, agility, speed, and aerobic scores were significantly higher for the EG compared to the CG at baseline (p p p < 0.05), were found for the CG in any of the other fitness variables. The findings indicate that amateur Newcomb ball training can be used as an efficient and enjoyable tool for fitness development among midlife women.

Peripheral oxygenation level (SpO2) can provide vital information on body functions. Continuous monitoring facilitates effective diagnosis and treatment and can even be lifesaving. Clinical device monitor SpO2 using a clip, and measure light transmission through the tissue. This method limits the body locations of the clip’s placement and is sensitive to body movement, which hampers continuous SpO2 monitoring during wakefulness or sleep, thus decreasing its usability in clinics and its accessibility in homecare usage. We developed a portable, wireless, flat and low cost prototype for continuous monitoring of SpO2 that overcomes those limitations. The prototype enables convenient measurement in larger variety of body locations by spectrophotometric measurements of changes in the optical reflectance unlike other device that measure absorption through the tissue. The original design and signal processing enable reliable signal acquisition, synchronization and control. An Android’s application was developed to provide a user friendly interface for results display on smartphones. The prototype’s measurements were compared to commercial device that simultaneously measured heart rate frequency, transcutaneous oxygen tension (tcPO2) and SpO2. The prototype’s measurements accurately reflected changes caused by blood pulses, were correlated to the heart rate, and were sensitive to changes in oxygen saturation. Excellent real time behavior and synchronization were demonstrated between the hardware and smartphone software. Our prototype thus enables convenient SpO2 measurement over the entire body, while maintaining accuracy comparable to commercial device. Its smartphone application enables accessible and understandable results display to patients, care-givers and healthcare professionals. Objective: To examine the antioxidant and the antimicrobial activities of the marine seaweeds Padina pavonica (P. pavonica) and Enteromorpha sp. from the Tunisian Mediterranean coast. Methods: The acetone and water were used for algae extraction to envisage the antimicrobial activity versus Gram-negative (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa), Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis) and against four Candida. The microdilution method was used to evaluate this activity. In vitro, total phenolic content and the antioxidant activity including 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and 2,2'-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenthiazoline)-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) were also studied. Results: The highest amount of phenolic compound was found in the P. pavonica acetonic extract ((90.61 ± 0.11) mg catechin equivalent/g extract)This brown algae sample demonstrated greater DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging ability potential in comparison to other green seaweed, Enteromorpha sp. The maximum antimicrobial activity was shown by the P. pavonica acetonic extract against all the pathogenic strains tested (minimum inhibitory concentrations = minimum inhibitory bactericidal = minimum inhibitory fungicidal concentrations = 0.04 mg/mL). Those activities might be due to phenolic substances present in this fraction. Conclusions: The present results highlight the possible use of P. pavonica as source of antioxidant and antimicrobial compounds.

全部期待利益的赔偿一贯被认为是一种较好的违约救济方式,但本文作者提出了保密利益的概念,并以其来证明当事人为获得期待赔偿所需对信息的披露有害于他的保密利益,并会直接影响他的起诉威胁的可信性。对保密利益的考虑说明期待赔偿并不总是能满足当事人利益的赔偿标准。文章详细地介绍了保密利益的概念,指出保密利益与通常考虑到的补偿利益之间的紧张关系,并区分了主观和客观两类赔偿标准对保密利益的不同影响。文章进一步讨论了保密利益在分析各种与违约赔偿有关的制度,如约定赔偿金、代替购买、减少损失等是否可取时产生的影响,尤其对商法典修改提案中新的赔偿序列以及对实际损失的普遍要求提出了批评。文章还讨论了司法程序对保密利益的影响,认为应该同时修改实体法与程序法以保护当事人日益重要的保密利益。文章的结论是如果法典对保密利益加以考虑的话,补偿利益的目标也能得到更好的实现。

目的:引入状态性成人依恋量表(SAAM)中文版,并检验其在中国大学生中的心理测量学属性。方法:采用问卷法先后调查了2290名大学生。结果:SAAM中文版包括安全、回避和焦虑3个分量表,21个条目,其因素结构得到探索性和验证性因素分析的支持;三个分量表内部一致性系数分别为0.71、0.67、0.54;重测信度分别为0.50、0.55、0.47;三个分量表具有良好的聚合效度和区分效度;中国大学生的状态性依恋风格具有性别差异、年级差异和恋爱状态差异。结论:SAAM中文版具有较好的信度和效度,可用于测评中国大学生的状态性依恋风格波动情况。

Background: Tuberculosis is currently the world’s leading cause of death arising from a single infectious condition. While T cell mediated immunity is recognized to have a major contribution to tuberculosis activation, the present investigation confirmed that TB was more prevalent among patients with acute myeloid rather than lymphoid leukemia and such association was frequently overlooked. The primary objective of this study is to estimate the diagnostic delay of tuberculosis among patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and compare it to the general population in Qatar. Secondary objective is to study the clinical and epidemiologic characteristics of tuberculosis in patients with AML. Methods: This is a retrospective study of tuberculosis cases diagnosed in subjects with AML during the period from January 2008 till December 2016. Results: Among 215 subjects with AML identified during the study period, 12 (5.58%) received the diagnosis of tuberculosis. The estimated incidence of tuberculosis among AML cases was 7.14 cases per 1000 per year. The mean delay in diagnosis of tuberculosis was 64.2 days (95% CI: 26.8 - 101.5) and the median was 45 days (interquartile range;Q1 - Q3, 29.5 - 97.5). Prolonged fever was the most common presentation (100% of cases). Parenchymal lung involvement was the most common radiologic abnormality (83.3% of cases). Three patients (25%) died and 8 patients completed 9 to 12 months of anti-tuberculous treatment with clinical and radiological remission. Conclusion: Infections caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis are not uncommon in patients with AML especially in patients from tuberculosis endemic regions. It constitutes a diagnostic challenge so high index of suspicion is of paramount importance.
