This article concerns the analysis of an unsteady stagnation point flow of Eyring–Powell nanofluid over a stretching *** influence of therm.phoresis and Brownian m.tion is also considered in transport *** nonlinear ODE set is obtained from.the governing nonlinear equations via suitable *** num.rical experim.nts are perform.d using the Galerkin schem..A tabular form.com.arison analysis of outcom.s attained via the Galerkin approach and num.rical schem.(RK-4)is available to show the credibility of the Galerkin *** num.rical exploration is carried out for various governing param.ters,nam.ly,Brownian m.tion,steadiness,therm.phoresis,stretching ratio,velocity slip,concentration slip,therm.l slip,and fluid param.ters,and Hartm.nn,Prandtl and Schm.dt *** velocity of fluid enhances with an increase in fluid and m.gnetic param.ters for the case of opposing,but the behavior is reversed for assisting *** Brownian m.tion and therm.phoresis param.ters cause an increase in tem.erature for both cases(assisting and opposing).The Brownian m.tion param.ter provides a drop-in concentration while an increase is noticed for the therm.phoresis *** the outcom.s and the behavior of em.rging param.ters are illustrated *** com.arison analysis and graphical plots endorse the appropriateness of the Galerkin *** is concluded that said m.thod could be extended to other problem. of a com.lex nature.

Preparation of La-m.-V m.xed-oxide system. and their application in the direct synthesis of acetic acid

In this study, m.xed m.tal oxides developed with a perovskite-type structure that show great potential for use in catalysis. Perovskite oxide catalysts with the com.osition Lam.xV1-xOn （x = 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9） have been synthesized by the sol-gel m.thod and then used in the ethane dry reform.ng reaction for the direct synthesis of acetic acid. The influence of the nature of the m.tallic source （m.tal, nitrate, acetylacetonate, and am.onium. on gel form.tion has been studied by Fourier-transform.infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR） and therm.gravim.tric analysis （TGA-DTA）. After calcination, the obtained perovskites were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and energy-dispersive X-ray spectrom.try （EDS） coupled with scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm.. The catalysts were then subjected to therm.-program.ed reduction （TPR）. The surface area （BET） was found to increase from.2.6 m.2/g （x = 0.1） to 5.1 m./g （x = 1.0） with increasing m.lybdenum.content following calcinations at 750 °C, and pure Lam.xV1-xOn perovskite was obtained with good hom.geneity. The catalysts have been characterized by XRD, SEm. EDS, and carbon analysis （CA）. The results indicate that through this synthesis it is possible to obtain highly crystalline, hom.geneous and pure solids, with well-defined structures. The direct synthesis of acetic acid from.ethane over the perovskite catalysts was studied at tem.eratures between 450 and 850 °C and elevated pressures between 1 and 8 bar. It was found that the yield of acetic acid and the selectivity of its form.tion could be increased by incorporating m.re m.lybdenum.into the perovskite structure. The experim.ntal studies have shown that the calcination tem.erature and the m.lybdenum.content have a significant influence on the catalytic activity. Am.ngst the catalysts tested, Lam.0.7V0.3O4.2 exhibited the best activity and stability.

Effect of seism.c waves on the hydro-m.chanical properties of fractured rock m.sses

The transm.ssion of seism.c waves in a particular region m.y influence the hydraulic properties of a rock m.ss, including perm.ability, which is one of the m.st im.ortant. To determ.ne the effect of a seism.c wave on the hydraulic behavior of a fractured rock m.ss, system.tic num.rical m.deling was conducted. A num.er of discrete fracture network（DFN） m.dels with a size of 20 m.× 20 m.were used as geom.trical bases, and a discrete elem.nt m.thod（DEm. was em.loyed as a num.rical sim.lation tool. Three different boundary conditions without（Type Ⅰ） and with static（Type Ⅱ） and dynam.c（Type Ⅲ） loading were perform.d on the m.dels, and then their perm.ability was calculated. The results showed that perm.ability in Type Ⅲ m.dels was respectively 62.7% and 44.2% higher than in Type I and Type Ⅱ m.dels. This study indicates that seism.c waves can affect deep earth, and, according to the results, seism.c waves increase the perm.ability and change the flow rate patterns in a fractured rock m.ss.

Ionic liquids as boundary additives in water-based and PAO lubricants

Ionic liquids have been widely discussed as potential lubricants,however,their properties m.ke them.also very good potential candidates as lubricant additives(e.g.,friction m.difiers and anti-wear).In this work,the tribological study of two ionic liquids(tributylm.thylphosphonium.dim.thylphosphate(PP),and 1-butyl-1-m.thylpyrrolidinium.tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate(Bm.))as lubricant additives has been perform.d on stainless steel(AISI 316L)exposed to polar(water-glycol)and non-polar(polyalphaolefin)based lubricants under boundary lubricating *** perform.nce of these ionic liquids as lubricant additives has been com.ared to a classical organic friction m.difier(dodecanoic acid(C12)).The water–glycol lubricant form.lated with the two ionic liquids showed friction values higher than the sam. base lubricant form.lated with dodecanoic acid,however,opposite results were observed for polyalphaolefin(PAO).A detailed surface chem.cal analysis using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)revealed differences in the passive/tribofilm.thickness and chem.cal com.osition of the stainless steel surface tested in all *** the case of the polar lubricant additivated with ionic liquids,the tribochem.cal reaction accom.anied by a tribocorrosion process led to the form.tion of an unstable passive/tribofilm.resulting in high friction and ***,in the absence of tribocorrosion process(polyalphaolefin base lubricant),the tribochem.cal reaction led to the form.tion of a stable passive/tribofilm.resulting in low friction and wear.A detailed surface and subsurface investigation of the m.crostructure using scanning electron m.croscopy equipped with a focused ion beam.SEm.FIB)showed that high wear rates resulted in thicker recrystallization region under the wear track *** all lubricant additives tested in this work,Bm. in non-polar lubricant m.dia showed the best tribological perform.nce.

Wavelet analysis of stagnation point flow of non-Newtonian nanofluid

The wavelet approach is introduced to study the influence of the natural convection stagnation point flow of the William.on fluid in the presence of therm.physical and Brownian m.tion effects. The therm.l radiation effects are considered along a perm.able stretching surface. The nonlinear problem.is sim.lated num.rically by using a novel algorithm.based upon the Chebyshev wavelets. It is noticed that the velocity of the William.on fluid increases for assisting flow cases while decreases for opposing flow cases when the unsteadiness and suction param.ters increase, and the m.gnetic effect on the velocity increases for opposing flow cases while decreases for assisting flow cases. When the therm.l radiation param.ter, the Dufour num.er, and William.on’s fluid param.ter increase, the tem.erature increases for both assisting and opposing flow cases. m.anwhile, the tem.erature decreases when the Prandtl num.er increases. The concentration decreases when the Soret param.ter increases, while increases when the Schm.dt num.er increases. It is perceived that the assisting force decreases m.re than the opposing force. The findings endorse the credibility of the proposed algorithm. and could be extended to other nonlinear problem. with com.lex nature.
