Micro fluidic chip has been applied in various biological fields owing to its low-consumption of reagents, high throughput, fuidic controllability and integrity. The well-designed microscale intermediary is also ideal for the study of cell biology. Particularly, microfluidic chip is helpful for better understanding cell-cell interactions. A general survey of recent publications would help to generalize the designs of the co-culture chips with different features. With ingenious and combinational utilization, the chips facilitate the implementation of some special coculture models that are highly concerned in a different spatial and temporal way.

Ensemble and optimized hybrid algorithms through Runge Kutta optimizer for sewer sediment transport modeling using a data pre-processing approach

Uncontrolled sediment deposition in drainage and sewer systems raises unexpected maintenance *** this end,implementation of an accurate model relying on effective parameters involved is a reliable *** this study,three machine learning techniques,namely extreme learning machine(ELM),multilayer perceptron neural network(MLPNN),and M5P model tree(M5PMT);and three optimization approaches of Runge Kutta(RUN),genetic algorithm(GA),and particle swarm optimization(PSO) are applied for *** optimization and ensemble hybridization approaches are applied in the modeling *** the case of hybrid optimized models,the ELM and MLPNN models are hybridized with RUN,GA,and PSO algorithms to develop six hybrid models of ELM-RUN,ELM-GA,ELMPSO,MLPNN-RUN,MLPNN-GA,and *** hybrid models are developed through coupling the ELM and MLPNN models with the M5PMT *** data pre-processing approach is applied to find the best randomness characteristic of the utilized *** illustrate that the RUNbased hybrid models outperform the GA-and PSO-based *** the MLPNN-RUN and MLPNN-M5PMT hybrid models generate better results than their alternatives,MLPNN-M5PMT slightly outperforms MLPNN-RUN model with a coefficient of determination of 0.84 and a root mean square error of *** current study shows the superiority of the ensemble-based approach to the optimization *** investigation is needed by considering alternative optimization techniques to enhance sediment transport modeling.

近年来,可再生能源领域取得了巨大发展。随着全球气候变暖问题日益严重,非传统发电方式正愈加受到重视。绿色能源不仅减少了传统发电厂燃烧化石燃料排放的温室气体,而且能够降低发电成本。随着流体通过叶轮,敞水式水轮机通过降低流速提取能量,但是引起的压力差很小。流线必须要保持连续性而不能无限制地扩大,从而流体的能量利用率存在理论限制。贝兹理论认为：对于敞水式水轮机能量利用率的极限值为16/27或59.3%(即流体流过盘面时提取能量的百分比)。但是,如果水轮机周边围绕着导流罩,一旦流动边界界定流线扩张将受到导流罩外形的限制。能源的获取是主要由压力下降来实现的,从某种程度上来说此时水轮机相比风力机更像一个超低水头的水轮机,最大功率为流量与压力差的乘积。导流罩的存在阻止了轴流式水轮机叶片处流体的径向流动,因而实现了较高的能量转换效率。导流罩式水轮机的压差取决于导流罩的形状和周围流动。如果导流罩设计成扩张式,将吸引更多的流体并将部分下游的速位差转化为水轮机的压位差,水轮机则成为“扩散器”。风力发电机组扩散器的设计已经开展了大量研究工作,但这一概念至今仍没有系统地应用于水轮机。目前研究工作的范围和目标是：a)利用CFD软件设计10kW潮流水轮机组的导流罩扩散器装置b)优化导流罩装置的性能c)评估有无导流罩水轮机组的性能d)建议与展望本论文研究工作着重于水下潮流能发电机组的导流罩设计。研究表明：导流罩的设计将水轮机组输出功率增加到原无导流罩水轮机组的两倍,因而设计是成功的。本文设计出两种性能相似的导流罩形式,其中带有凸缘形式性能稍优但存在阻力加大的劣势。实际应用可以根据实际要求和载荷条件再做决定。

This study predicts the cash holdings policy of Turkish firms,given the 20 selected features with machine learning algorithm methods.211 listed firms in the Borsa Istanbul are analyzed over the period between 2006 and *** linear regression(MLR),k-nearest neighbors(KNN),support vector regression(SVR),decision trees(DT),extreme gradient boosting algorithm(XGBoost)and multi-layer neural networks(MLNN)are used for *** reveal that MLR,KNN,and SVR provide high root mean square error(RMSE)and low R2 ***,more complex algorithms,such as DT and especially XGBoost,derive higher accuracy with a 0.73 R 2 ***,using advanced machine learning algorithms,we may predict cash holdings considerably.

We read the article entitled Serum uric＇ acid as a prognostic marker in the setting of advanced vascular disease： a prospective study in the elderly by Stolfo, et al. with great interest. The authors evaluated the association of serum uric acid （SUA） levels with adverse cardiovascular events and deaths in an elderly population affected by advanced atherosclerosis. They founded meaningful association between SUA levels and of cardiovascular events and cancer related death. We believe that these findings will lead for further studies on uric acid.
