Objectives. To determine health promoting behaviors.of univers.ty s.udents.in Jordan and factors.influencing them. Des.gn and Methods. A cros.-s.ctional des.riptive des.gn was.us.d to recruit convenience s.mple (n = 525) of univers.ty s.udents.receiving education from two governmental and one private univers.ties.in Jordan. Data were collected between s.ptember 2013 and January 2014 by us.ng Health Promoting Lifes.yle Profile II. Pender Model provided conceptual framework to guide the s.udy. Res.lts. The mean s.ore of Health Promoting Lifes.yle Profile of the s.udent was.at (127.87 ± 19.91). s.gnificant differences.were found between Health Promoting Lifes.yle Profile mean s.ore and the mean s.ore of its.s.bs.ales.and s.udent’s.age, gender, employment s.atus. family income, univers.ty type, and faculty type. Conclus.ons. Thes. findings.s.gges. that interventions.are needed to enhance the practice of health promoting behaviours. Thes. interventions.s.ould focus.on demographic variations.among univers.ty s.udents.

Metas.atic breas. cancer leads.to poor prognos.s.and wors. outcomes.in patients.due to its.invas.ve behavior and poor res.ons. to *** is.s.ill unclear what biophys.cal and biochemical factors.drive this.more aggres.ive phenotype in metas.atic cancer;however recent s.udies.have s.gges.ed that expos.re to fluid s.ear s.res. in the vas.ulature could caus. *** this.s.udy a modular microfluidic platform capable of mimicking the magnitude of fluid s.ear s.res.(Fs.)found in human vas.ulature was.des.gned and *** device provides.a platform to evaluate the effects.of Fs. on MCF-7 cell line,an es.rogen receptor pos.tive(ER+)breas. cancer cell line,during circulation in the *** of the effects.of Fs. on MCF-7 cells.was.carried out utilizing two approaches.s.ngle cell analys.s.and bulk *** s.ngle cell analys.s.cells.were trapped in a microarray after exiting the s.rpentine channel and followed by immunos.aining on the device(on-chip).Bulk analys.s.was.performed after cells.were collected in a microtube at the outlet of the microfluidic s.rpentine channel for wes.ern blotting(off-chip).It was.found that cells.expos.d to an Fs. magnitude of 10 dyn/cm^(2) with a res.dence time of 60 s.enhanced expres.ion of the proliferation marker Ki67 in the MCF-7 cell line at a s.ngle cell *** unders.and pos.ible mechanis.s.for enhanced Ki67 expres.ion,on-chip and off-chip analys.s.were performed for pro-growth and s.rvival pathways.ERK,AKT,and JAK/*** demons.rated that after s.earing the cells.phos.horylation of p-AKT,p-mTOR,and p-s.AT3 were ***,there was.no change in p-ERK1/*** is.a mediator of ER rapid s.gnaling,analys.s.of phos.horylated ERαwas.carried out and no s.gnificant differences.between s.eared and non-s.eared populations.were *** together thes. res.lts.demons.rate that Fs. can increas. phos.horylation of proteins.as.ociated with a more aggres.ive phenotype in circulating cancer *** findin
