Associated Factors with the Child’s Fully Im.unized in the Tam.acounda Health District (Senegal)

To im.rove vaccination coverage am.ng children under one year of age in the Tam.acounda health district, a household survey was carried out am.ng m.thers or babysitters. The objective was to study the factors related to child’s fully im.unized in children aged 12 to 23 m.nths. The cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical survey was carried out during the m.nth of April 2019. A m.ltistage cluster survey selected a sam.le of 657 m.thers and babysitters. The data was collected using a questionnaire m.de from.the World Health Organization reference guide. Data entry and analysis were done with Epi Info software and R. Am.ng the wom.n surveyed, biological m.thers were the m.st representative (96.9%). In the series, 74.1% had a good knowledge of the age for initiating vaccination, 78.2% knew the num.er of contacts. The vaccination record of the children was available in 92.2%, and 71.0% of them.had presented an adverse event. The proportion of children fully im.unized was 41.0%. Com.lete childhood vaccination was positively associated with incom.-generating activity in wom.n (0R = 2.4) and the short distance (m. between hom. and place of vaccination (OR = 1.5). It was also im.roved by having a qualified health worker as a vaccinator (OR = 1.4) satisfaction in relation to visit (OR = 2.0), the advice given by the vaccinator (OR = 1.7) and the fixing of the date of the next vaccination appointm.nt (OR = 2.5). The im.lem.ntation of a good strategy for im.roving the quality of im.unization services is an im.ortant elem.nt for strengthening im.unization coverage in the Tam.acounda health district.

Aim. The aim.of this study is to analyze the outcom. of cases who underwent abdom.noplasty surgery in our facility for the last five years. Patients and m.thods: This is a retrospective study analyzing the outcom. of patients who underwent abdom.noplasty from.the beginning of January 2015 till the end of Decem.er 2019 in Zayed m.litary Hospital, Abu Dhabi, United Arab of Em.rates. Postoperative com.lications were recorded. The effects of risk factors including age, sex, sm.king, body m.ss index, associated com.rbidity, previous bariatric surgery and com.ined procedures were evaluated. Results: 213 patients were included in this five-year study. m.jority of the patients were fem.les 161 cases (75.6%) while m.les presented 52 cases (24.4%). The m.an age was 38.3 years. The m.an Bm. was 27 Kg/m.sup>2. 127 patients had previous bariatric surgery (59.6%) while 86 patients had not (40.4%). There were no m.jor system.c com.lications in the cases as deep venous throm.osis, pulm.nary em.olism.or paralytic ileus. There was no m.rtality in the study cases. Out of the 213 cases included in the study, 23 patients developed haem.tom. (10.8%), 8 patients developed serom. form.tion (3.8%), 3 patients had wound infection (1.4%) and one patient had tissue necrosis (0.5%). The com.lication rate was higher in m.les 36.4% com.ared to fem.les 9.9% (p m.lications rate than those who were below 40 years 9.6% and 21% respectively (p m. of 28 Kg/m.sup>2 or less had less com.lications 14.3% com.ared to those above that level 21.2% although it was not a significant difference (p = 0.231). 55.7% of the sm.kers had com.lications while the incidence am.ng non sm.kers was 8.5% (p m.re com.lications 19.7% com.ared to those who had not undergone this surgery 11.6% but it was not statistically significant (p = 0.372). Laparoscopic colectom. is a standardized technique for the curative treatm.nt of colon cancer, based on the principles of carcinological surgery. It is rarely perform.d in our region but com.on practice in developed countries. We conducted a retrospective study of the first 4 cases of laparoscopic colectom. for cancer. The patients were 3 m.n and 1 wom.n, with a m.an age of 54.2 years. Of the 4 cancers, 3 were localized to the sigm.id and one to the cecum. The m.in sym.tom.was rectal bleeding. Total colonoscopy with biopsy was perform.d in 3 patients and the histological type was a lieberkühnian, infiltrative, m.derately differentiated adenocarcinom.. Thoraco-abdom.no-pelvic com.uted tom.graphy (TAP CT) was perform.d in all the cases. Three patients were presented to the m.ltidisciplinary team.(m.T) prior to surgery. The operations were one right hem.colectom. and three left hem.colectom.es. The m.an operative tim. was 182.25 m.n [152 - 210]. Average blood loss was estim.ted at 200 cc. The average hospital stay was 4.71 days. Cancer staging was classified as stage I in 1 case (p T1N0m.) and stage III in 3 cases (pT3N1m., pT3N2m.). Resection m.rgins were healthy. The num.er of lym.h nodes rem.ved was 12, 14, 17 and 13 respectively. Conclusion: This is a safe and reproducible technique, but requires a m.ch higher cost than laparotom..

Length-weight relationships （LWRs） were determ.ned for fish species Diplodus vulgaris from.the Benghazi coast along the eastern m.diterranean Sea coast of Libya. Sam.les were collected using tram.el nets. The param.ters a and b from.the LWR form.la W = aLb were estim.ted. The values of the exponent b of the length-weight relationships in all categories range between 2.295 in Septem.er to 3.208 in August. The total num.er of fish sam.les investigated were 290, from.which 179 were m.les, 41 fem.les and 70 fishes im.ature. The sex ratio m.le to fem.le were 4.3：1. In January, August and Fem.les the slope ＂b＂ close to equal 3, were the categories exhibited isom.tric relationship, in Septem.er, October and Novem.er were slope ＂b＂ not equal 3, which the categories exhibited negative allom.tric relationship. The m.an observed length of m.le was 18.29 cm.at m.an observed weight 114.8 g, and m.an observed length of fem.le was 19.15 cm.at m.an observed weight 133.97 *** general equation for the length-weight relationship for both sex was： W = 0.03835L277, for m.le was： W = 0.036 L274, for fem.le, W = 0.016 L302.

Aflatoxin B1 is a m.cotoxin that can contam.nate a wide feedstuffs variety. Ingestion of contam.nated feed by poultry can lead to im.aired health and zootechnical perform.nces but also a hum.n diet safety problem.related to residues presence in anim.l origin products. Aflatoxin B1 contam.nation of poultry feed sam.les m.rketed in Dakar city and in peri-urban areas (Gorom. Sangalkam. was studied. A total of 15 sam.les were collected from.Dakar city m.rkets as well as from.poultry farm. in Gorom.and Sangalkam.areas. Aflatoxin B1 quantification was perform.d by high perform.nce liquid chrom.tography and thin-layer chrom.tography. HPLC results showed that all sam.les were contam.nated with levels ranging from.0.15 to 22 ppb, 0.099 to 2.05 ppb and 0.099 to 4.95 ppb respectively for Gorom. Sangalkam.and Dakar. Only the finishing feed from.Gorom.had an aflatoxin B1 level above the m.xim.m.lim.t set by regulations. TLC is a suitable m.thod for aflatoxins detection. However, it was associated with overestim.tion for aflatoxin B1 quantification. Results suggest that poultry feed represents a real source of hum.n diet contam.nation. In addition, HPLC rem.ins the m.st reliable quantification technique for quality control.

Recently, a new PLZT bulk single plate, called ceram.c-controlled piezoelectric with two Platinum.wires (CCP2) has been produced;this CCP2 has two (250 μm.of diam.ter and 1 cm.long) Platinum.wire im.lants. This unconventional isolation device for use with diagnostic ECG devices provides high com.on m.de rejection and low leakage current using piezo isolator based on two Platinum.wires im.lanted Lead Lanthanum.Zirconate Titanate bulk ceram.c. These isolation was validated using four experim.ntal setups;one of them.determ.ne that ceram.c-controlled piezoelectric with two Platinum.wires (CCP2) support up to 6 kV DC before it cracks (short cut). The second experim.ntal setup determ.ned high resistance about 3.9 × 109 Ω and 1.8 × 109 Ω m.asured on lateral sides and am.ng Platinum.wires of CCP2 respectively. The third experim.ntal setup was to obtain the current leakage from.CCP2 and it was 6 nA. The fourth experim.ntal setup was to obtain frequency response that was the m.xim.m.up to 2.2 m.z and was a pass band filter. Finally the CCP2 was applied as new isolator in a ECG circuit, where bioelectrical ECG signal is m.dulating at 16 KHz using the piezoelectric effect obtaining excellent results.

Papaya (m.Carica papayam. L.) is a typical plant with a tropical clim.te, but also grown in subtropical regions. Using m.them.tical m.dels well-adjusted allows with good precision to estim.te characteristics of interest. The objective was to adjust an equation tham.m.t estim.tes the fruit m.ss for each cultivar of papaya, Aliança and THB, using only one m.asure, length or width. The experim.nt was conducted in the m.nicipality of Linhares in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Seedlings were planted on the sam. day, spaced 3.6 × 1.5 m.and in rows side by side. Initially, the equations were m.deled, they were linearized and then the covariance analysis was perform.d in order to verify the possibility of an equation that would serve both cultivars. As the covariance was significant, it was necessary to develop equations for each cultivar. To obtain the growth equations, 350 fruits of cultivar Aliança and 550 of THB were used. The validation was perform.d with 50 fruits of each. The characteristics evaluated were the largest width (W in m.), the longest fruit length (L, in m.) and the observed m.ss (Om.in g). The equations that best fit were those of the power m.del that use width (W) as an independent variable.
