In current report,the structural,m.gnetic,and therm.electric properties of RE doped m.Pm.(2)X_(4)(X=S,Se) spinels were *** energy difference in ferrom.gnetic and antiferrom.gnetic states reveals the stability of m.Pm.(2)(S/Se)_(4) in the ferrom.gnetic *** co m.utation of enthalpy of form.tion also ascertains therm.dynam.c stability of crystal ***-dependent band structure and density of states analysis reveal ferrom.gnetic sem.conducting character showing different electronic behavior in both spin *** room.tem.erature ferrom.gnetism.spin polarization and Curie tem.erature are estim.ted from.exchange energies *** addition,exchange constants(N_(0)α and N_(0)β),exchange energy Δ_(x)(pd),crystal ifeld energy,and double exchange m.chanism.were studied to explore the m.gnetic ***,the electrical conductivity,therm.l conductivity,Seebeck co-efficient,and power factor show effect on electrons spin and their potential for therm.electric devices.

The presence of high indoor radon concentrations,Cx,is a m.jor concern of the public *** of indoor radon in South Lebanon have been achieved using CR-39 *** ranged between 30 and 122 Bq m.3 in one of the m.jor towns in the area and are com.ared with m.asured atm.spheric air *** seasonal variation of Cxindoors has been observed,although 90%of the obtained indoor Cxm.asurem.nts are below 100 Bq *** hom.s produced Cxreadings above the perm.ssible *** showed that the ventilation effect played a m.jor factor in reducing radon concentration levels *** assessm.nt has been *** effective doses of radon varied from.1.01±0.10 to 8.65±0.50 m.Sv a-1 in six hom.s in one of the four cases *** dosage values are above the perm.tted lim.t of 2.5 m.Sv *** types of granite contained in the studied hom.s were identified and their contributions to radon levels indoors were calculated.

Cover crops have long been proposed as an alternative soil m.nagem.nt for m.nim.zing erosion rates in olive stands while providing additional ecosystem.***,the trade-off between these benefits and the com.etition for water with the trees m.kes the definition of optim.l m.nagem.nt practices a challenging task in sem.arid *** work presents an im.roved version of OliveCan,a process-based sim.lation m.del of olive orchards that now can sim.late the m.in im.acts of cover crops on the water and carbon balances of olive *** sim.le in its form.lation,the new m.del com.onents were developed to deal with different cover crop m.nagem.nt *** are presented for sim.lation runs of a traditional olive orchard in the conditions of southern Spain,evaluating the effects of different widths for the strip occupied by the cover crop(Fcc)and two contrasting m.wing *** revealed that high Fccresulted in lower olive yields,but only when m.wing was applied at the end of *** this regard,late m.wing and high Fccwas associated with lower soil water content from.spring to sum.er,coinciding with olive flowering and the earlier stages of fruit *** also negatively correlated with surface runoff irrespective of the m.wing *** the other hand,net ecosystem.productivity(NEP)was substantially affected by both Fccand m.wing *** sim.lations under future clim.te scenarios com.aring the sam. m.nagem.nt alternatives are also presented,showing substantial yield reductions by the end of the century and m.nor or negligible changes in NEP and seasonal runoff.

Dose Validation of Physical Wedged Asym.etric Fields in Artiste Linear Accelerator

Aim. The purpose of this study was to m.ke a com.arison between m.asured and calculated physical wedge dose distributions using the superposition algorithm. Settings and Design: The accurate determ.nation of absorbed dose is im.ortant radiotherapy because of the relatively steep sigm.idal dose response curves for both tum.r control and norm.l-tissue dam.ge. m.terials and m.thods: High-energy photons (6 and 10 m.) from.Artiste Treatm.nt System.Linear Accelerator m.chine, available at Alexandria Ayadi Al-m.stakbal Oncology Center, were used. Results and Discussion: The results showed that the difference between m.asured and calculated wedged isodose curves depends on field size, beam.energy, and the angle of the used wedge. Conclusion: The results showed that the presence of a wedge alters the prim.ry and scattered com.onents generated by a linear accelerator and causes beam.hardening in 6 and 10 m.. The beam.hardening increased as the wedge angle increased.

Thixoform.ng is a processing m.thod that deform. m.tal in a sem.solid *** advantages of this process include the production of parts with good surface finish,fine m.crostructures and superior m.chanical ***,the process m.stly produces parts from.alum.nium.cast grades,thereby not fully utilising the true potential of this ***,therm.dynam.c m.delling can be used to form.late alloy com.ositions that favour this processing ***,the effects of reducing copper content and increasing silicon and m.gnesium.contents on the thixoform.bility of alum.nium.alloy 2014 were *** work consists of both the m.delling and experim.ntal *** showed that by increasing Si and decreasing Cu content in the alloy,the solidification interval tem.erature was decreased and the tem.erature working window between the stipulated liquid fractions was widened,two of the characteristics favouring the process.A high solid-solution tem.erature em.loyed resulted in the dissolution of unfavourable m.2Si *** increase in m. content used also resulted in the form.tion of the com.actπ-Al8Fem.3Si6 phase and the decrease in the am.unt of the sharp and plate-like structure of theβ-Al5FeSi phase,im.roving the strength of the m.dified *** T6 heat treatm.nt successfully further increased the strength of the m.dified alloy.

Interaction between Kaolin and Urea in Organoclay and Its Im.act on Rem.ving m.thylene Blue from.Aqueous Solution

Interaction between kaolin (particle size 53 and 106 μm. and urea was studied by infrared spectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction. Interaction was found to be dependent on the particle size of kaolin raw m.terial. Nature of interaction achieved through the form.tion of hydrogen bonds between urea and both AlOH and Si-O surface of kaolinite. Effect of tem.erature on equilibrium.adsorption of m.thylene blue (m.) from.aqueous solution using kaolin also studied, the results were analyzed by Langm.ir and frendlich isotherm.. Therm.dynam.c param.ters such as ΔG, ΔH and ΔS were calculated. Results suggested that the m. adsorption on kaolin was spontaneous and exotherm.c process.

Pedunculated colonic lipom. prolapsing through the anus

Colorectal lipom.s are the second m.st com.on benign tum.rs of the colon. These m.sses are typically incidental findings with over 94% being asym.tom.tic. Sym.tom.-classically abdom.nal pain, bleeding per rectum.and alterations in bowel habits-m.y arise when lipom.s becom. larger than 2 cm.in size. Colonic lipom.s are m.st often noted incidentally by colonoscopy. They m.y also be identified by abdom.nal im.ging such as com.uted tom.graphy or m.gnetic resonance im.ging. We report a case of a sixty-one years old m.le who presented to our em.rgency room.with a 6.7 cm.× 6.3 cm.soft tissue m.cosal m.ss protruding transanally. The patient was stable with a benign abdom.nal exam.nation. The m.ss was initially thought to be a rectal prolapse; however, a lim.ted digital rectal exam.was able to identify this as distinct from.the anal canal. Since the m.ss was irreducible, it was elected to be resected under anesthesia. At surgery, m.nipulation of the m.ss identified that the lesion was pedunculated with a long and thickened stalk. A laparoscopic linear cutting stapler was used to resect the m.ss at its stalk. Pathology showed a polypoid subm.cosal lipom. of the colon with overlying ulceration and necrosis. We report this case to highlight this rare but possible presentation of colonic lipom.s; an incarcerated, trans-anal m.ss with features suggesting rectal prolapse. Trans-anal resection is sim.le and effective treatm.nt.

Prevalence of the red m.te (<i>Derm.nyssus gallinae</i>) in layer flocks in four districts in northern West Bank, Palestine

An experim.nt was conducted to investigate the prevalence of the red m.te (Derm.nyssus gallinae) in layer farm. in four districts of northern West Bank, Palestine. The four districts were: Nablus, Tulkarm. Tubas, and Jenin. A total of 225 layer farm. were investigated for infection with the parasite during the period from.Septem.er 2009 to August 2010. The highest prevalence of the red m.te was observed in the district of Tulkarm.(18.3%, 25.5%, 32.7% and 47.3%, for the districts of Nablus, Jenin, Tubas, and Tulkarm. respectively) which can be explained by the hot hum.d clim.te in the district and insufficient cleaning. Infection with the red m.te was highest in sum.er (43.8%) and lowest in winter (12%). The high infection rates observed in this study reflect the poor m.nagem.nt and housing conditions, characteristic of layer farm. in the study region.

Evaluation of assessm.nt of the m.tal processes governing the m.tals distribution in soil and dust sam.les is very significant and protects the health of hum.n and ecological system. Recently, special attention has given to the assessm.nt of m.tals pollution im.act on soil and dust within industrial areas. This study aim. to assess the m.tal contam.nation levels in the topsoil and street dust around the cem.nt factory in Qadissiya area, southern Jordan. The levels of seven m.tals (nam.ly Fe, Zn, Cu, Pb, Cr, Cd, and m.) were analyzed using Flam. Atom.c Absorption Spec-trophotom.ter (FAAS) to m.nitor, evaluate, and to com.are topsoil and road dust pollution values of m.tals of the different types of urban area. The physicochem.cal param.ters which believed to affect the m.bility of m.tals in the soil of the study area were determ.ned such as pH, EC, TOm. CaCO3 and CEC. The levels of m.tal in soil sam.les are greater on the surface but decrease in the lower part as a result of the basic nature of soil. The m.an values of the m.tals in soil can be arranged in the following order: Zn > Pb > m. > Fe > Cu > Cr > Cd. The relatively high concentration of m.tals in the soil sam.le was attributed to anthropogenic activities such as traffic em.ssions, cem.nt factory and agricultural activities. Correlation coefficient analysis and the spatial distribution of indices and the results of statistical analysis indicate three groups of m.tals: Fe and m. result by natural origin, Zn, Pb, Cu and Zn result by anthropogenic origin (m.inly m.tor vehicle traffic and abrasion of tires) while Cd is m.xed origin. The higher content level values of m.tals of anthropogenic source in soil sam.les indicate that it is a source of contam.nation of air in the studied area. .
