There are wide applications of block-rate pricing schemes in many ***,there are no significant studies that apply this common tariff for smart home energy management *** this paper,a three-time-frame energy management scheme has been proposed for photovoltaic(PV)-powered grid-connected smart homes based on the well-known mixed-integer linear programming optimization *** paper provides three original and novel smart home energy management algorithms that depend on the most common residential tariff specifically in developing *** different management concepts have been studied for a typical Egyptian *** concepts of shifting load,vehicle-to-home and reducing air conditioning have been tested according to a commonly applied slab *** proposed scheme considers the home battery extending lifetime *** also preserves comfortable lifestyle limits for home users according to Arab housing climatic conditions and ***,the economic feasibility of integrated PV modules for the studied home has been verified according to the Egyptian *** proposed energy management scheme of PV-powered home reduces the electrical power bill significantly in a wide range from 61%to only 19%of the default case bill according to the applied management technique.

The exponential increase in new coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)cases and deaths has made COVID-19 the leading cause of death in many ***,in this study,we propose an efficient technique for the automatic detection of COVID-19 and pneumonia based on X-ray images.A stacked denoising convolutional autoencoder(sDCA)model was proposed to classify X-ray images into three classes:normal,pneumonia,and *** sDCA model was used to obtain a good representation of the input data and extract the relevant features from noisy *** proposed model’s architecture mainly composed of eight autoencoders,which were fed to two dense layers and softmax *** proposed model was evaluated with 6356 images from the datasets from different *** experiments and evaluation of the proposed model were applied to an 80/20 training/validation split and for five cross-validation data splitting,*** metrics used for the sDCA model were the classification accuracy,precision,sensitivity,and specificity for both *** results demonstrated the superiority of the proposed model in classifying X-ray images with high accuracy of 96.8%.Therefore,this model can help physicians accelerate COVID-19 diagnosis.

A facile and fast approach for the synthesis of a nanostructured nickel hydroxide(Ni（OH）;) via sonochemical technique is reported in the present study. The X-ray diffraction results confirmed that the synthesized Ni（OH）;was oriented in β-phase of hexagonal brucite structure. The nanostructured Ni（OH）;electrode exhibited the maximum specific capacitance of 1256 F/g at a current density of 200 mA/g in 1 m KOH;. Ni（OH）;electrodes exhibited the pseudocapacitive behavior due to the presence of redox reaction. It also exhibited long-term cyclic stability of 85% after 2000 cycles, suggesting that the nanostructured Ni（OH）;electrode will play a promising role for high performance supercapacitor application.

The enlarged veins in the pampiniform venous plexus,known as varicocele disease,are typically identified using ultrasound *** diagnosis of varicocele is based on examinations made in three positions taken to the right and left testicles of the male *** proposed system is designed to determine whether a patient is *** is more frequent on the left side of the scrotum than on the right and physicians commonly depend on the supine position more than other ***,the experimental results of this study focused on images taken in the supine position of the left testicles of *** are two possible vein structures in each image:a cross-section(circular)and a tube(non-circular)*** proposed system identifies dilated(varicocele)veins of these structures in ultrasound images in three stages:preprocessing,processing,and detection and *** three stages are applied in three different color modes:Grayscale,Red-Green-Blue(RGB),and Hue,saturation,and Value(HsV).In the preprocessing stage,the region of interest enclosing the pampiniform plexus area is extracted using a median filter and threshold ***,the processing stage employs different filters to perform image ***,edge detection is applied in multiple steps and the detected veins are measured to determine if dilated veins *** implementation results showed the proposed system is faster andmore effective than the previous work.

COVID-19 is the common name of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)that appeared in Wuhan,China in *** the infected people is the most important factor in the fight against the *** gold-standard test to diagnose COVID-19 is polymerase chain reaction(PCR),but it takes 5–6 h and,in the early stages of infection,may produce false-negative *** Computed Tomography(CT)images to diagnose patients infected with COVID-19 has become an urgent *** this study,we propose a residual attention deep support vector data description sVDD(RADsVDD)approach to diagnose *** is a novel approach combining residual attention with deep support vector data description(DsVDD)to classify the CT *** the best of our knowledge,we are the first to combine residual attention with DsVDD in general,and specifically in the diagnosis of *** attention with DsVDD naively may cause model *** in the proposed RADsVDD guides the network during training and enables quick learning,residual connectivity prevents vanishing *** approach consists of three models,each model is devoted to recognizing one certain disease and classifying other diseases as *** models learn in an end-to-end *** proposed approach attained high performance in classifying CT images into intact,COVID-19,and non-COVID-19 *** evaluate the proposed approach,we created a dataset from published datasets and had it assessed by an experienced *** proposed approach achieved high performance,with the normal model attained sensitivity(0.96–0.98),specificity(0.97–0.99),F1-score(0.97–0.98),and area under the receiver operator curve(AUC)0.99;the COVID-19 model attained sensitivity(0.97–0.98),specificity(0.97–0.99),F1-score(0.97–0.99),and AUC 0.99;and the non-COVID pneumoniamodel attained sensitivity(0.97–1),specificity(0.98–0.99),F1-score(0.97–0.99),and AUC 0.99.

This study presents the use of chicken eggshells waste utilizing palm kernel shell based activated carbon（PKsAC） through the modification of their surface to enhance the adsorption capacity of H2s. Response surface methodology technique was used to optimize the process conditions and they were found to be： 500 mg/L for H2s initial concentration, 540 min for contact time and 1 g for adsorbent mass. The impacts of three arrangement factors（calcination temperature of impregnated activated carbon（IAC）, the calcium solution concentration and contact time of calcination） on the H2s removal efficiency and impregnated AC yield were investigated. Both responses IAC yield（IACY, %） and removal efficiency（RE, %） were maximized to optimize the IAC preparation conditions. The optimum preparation conditions for IACY and RE were found as follows： calcination temperature of IAC of 880 ℃, calcium solution concentration of 49.3% and calcination contact time of 57.6 min, which resulted in 35.8% of IACY and 98.2% RE. In addition, the equilibrium and kinetics of the process were investigated. The adsorbent was characterized using TGA, XRD, FTIR, sEm/EDX, and BET. The maximum monolayer adsorption capacity was found to be 543.47 mg/g. The results recommended that the composite of PKsAC and Ca O could be a useful material for H2s containing wastewater treatment.

Thermal processes on the Tibetan Plateau(TP)influence atmospheric conditions on regional and global *** this,previous work has shown that soil moisture−driven surface flux variations feed back onto the *** soil moisture is a source of atmospheric predictability,no study has evaluated soil moisture−atmosphere coupling on the TP in general circulation models(GCms).In this study,we use several analysis techniques to assess soil moisture−atmosphere coupling in CmIP6 simulations including:instantaneous coupling indices;analysis of flux and atmospheric behaviour during dry spells;and a quantification of the preference for convection over drier *** these metrics we partition feedbacks into their atmospheric and terrestrial *** with previous global studies,we conclude substantial inter-model differences in the representation of soil moisture−atmosphere coupling,and that most models underestimate such *** on dry spell analysis,most models underestimate increased sensible heat during periods of rainfall *** example,the model-mean bias in anomalous sensible heat flux is 10 W m−2(≈25%)smaller compared to *** dry-spell sensible heat fluxes lead to a weaker atmospheric *** also find that most GCms fail to capture the negative feedback between soil moisture and deep *** poor simulation of feedbacks in CmIP6 experiments suggests that forecast models also struggle to exploit soil moisture−driven *** improve the representation of land−atmosphere feedbacks requires developments in not only atmospheric modelling,but also surface processes,as we find weak relationships between rainfall biases and coupling indexes.

AIm:To compare the efficacy and palatability of 4L polyethylene glycol electrolyte(PEG)plus sugar-free menthol candy(PEG+m)vs reduced-volume 2 L ascorbic acid-supplemented PEG(Asc PEG).mETHODs:In a randomized controlled trial setting,ambulatory patients scheduled for elective colonoscopy were prospectively *** were randomized to receive either PEG+m or Asc PEG,both splitdosed with minimal dietary *** was assessed on a linear scale of 1 to 5(1=disgusting;5=tasty).Quality of preparation was scored by assignment-blinded endoscopists using the modified Aronchick and Ottawa *** main outcomes were the palatability and efficacy of the *** outcomes included patient willingness to retake the same preparation again in the future and completion of the prescribed ***:Overall,200 patients were enrolled(100patients per arm).PEG+m was more palatable than Asc PEG(76%vs 62%,P=0.03).Completing the preparation was not different between study groups(91%PEG+m vs 86%Asc PEG,P=0.38)but more patients were willing to retake PEG+m(54%vs 40%respectively,P=0.047).There was no significant difference between PEG+m vs Asc PEG in adequate cleansing on both the modified Aronchick(82%vs77%,P=0.31)and the Ottawa scale(85%vs 74%,P=0.054).However,PEG+m was superior in the left colon on the Ottawa subsegmental score(score0-2:94%for PEG+m vs 81%for Asc PEG,P=0.005)and received significantly more excellent ratings than Asc PEG on the modified Aronchick scale(61%vs 43%,P=0.009).Both preparations performed less well in afternoon vs morning examinations(inadequate:29%vs 15.2%,P=0.02).CONCLUsION:4 L PEG plus menthol has better palatability and acceptability than 2 L ascorbic acidPEG and is associated with a higher rate of excellentpreparations;*** identifier:NCT01788709.
