energy conservation is a crucial issue to extend the lifetime of wireless sensor networks(WSNs)where the battery capacity and energy sources are very *** energy-saving techniques can help designers overcome this issue by reducing the number of selected sensors that report environmental measurements by eliminating all replicated and unrelated *** paper suggests a Hybrid Sensor Selection(HSS)technique that combines filter-wrappermethod to acquire a rich-informational subset of sensors in a reasonable *** aims to increase the lifetime of WSNs by using the optimal number of *** the same time,HSS maintains the desired level of accuracy and manages sensor failures with the most suitable number of sensors without compromising the *** evaluation of the HSS technique has adopted four experiments by using four different *** experiments show that HSS can extend the WSNs lifetime and increase the accuracy using a sufficient number of sensors without affecting ***,to ensure HSS credibility and reliability,the proposed HSS technique has been compared to other corresponding methodologies and shows its superiority in energy conservation at premium accuracy measures.

Network Intrusion Detection System(IDS)aims to maintain computer network security by detecting several forms of attacks and unauthorized uses of applications which often can not be detected by *** features selection approach plays an important role in constructing effective network *** bio-inspired metaheuristic algorithms used to reduce features to classify network traffic as abnormal or normal traffic within a shorter duration and showing more ***,this paper aims to propose a hybrid model for network IDS based on hybridization bio-inspired metaheuristic algorithms to detect the generic *** proposed model has two objectives;The first one is to reduce the number of selected features for Network *** objective was met through the hybridization of bioinspired metaheuristic algorithms with each other in a hybrid *** algorithms used in this paper are particle swarm optimization(PSO),multiverse optimizer(mVO),grey wolf optimizer(GWO),moth-flame optimization(mFO),whale optimization algorithm(WOA),firefly algorithm(FFA),and bat algorithm(BAT).The second objective is to detect the generic attack using machine learning *** objective was met through employing the support vector machine(SVm),C4.5(J48)decision tree,and random forest(RF)***-NB15 dataset used for assessing the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid ***-NB15 dataset has nine attacks *** generic attack is the highest among ***,the proposed model aims to identify generic *** data showed that J48 is the best classifier compared to SVm and RF for the time needed to build the *** terms of features reduction for the classification,my data show that the mFO-WOA and FFA-GWO models reduce the features to 15 features with close accuracy,sensitivity and F-measure of all features,whereas mVO-BAT model reduces features to 24 features with the same accuracy,sensitivity and F-measure of all features for all classifiers.

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) play a vital role in meeting the growing demand for higher data rates and reliability in wireless systems. This study focuses on analyzing the performance of RIS systems to gain a deeper understanding of their *** paper presents a mathematical analysis of the RIS system,deriving closed-form formulae that express its characteristics including signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)distribution,ergodic and effective capacity,outage,and error probability. The obtained formulae are newly derived and unconditionally valid solutions. Numerical results demonstrate a close agreement between the derived formulae and monteCarlo simulation outcomes.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) makes up 75%-85% of all primary liver cancers and is the fourth most common cause of cancer related death worldwide. Chronic liver disease is the most significant risk factor for HCC with 80%-90% of new cases occurring in the background of cirrhosis. Studies have shown that early diagnosis of HCC through surveillance programs improve prognosis and availability of curative therapies. All patients with cirrhosis and high-risk hepatitis B patients are at risk for HCC and should undergo surveillance. The recommended surveillance modality is abdominal ultrasound(US) given that it is cost effective and noninvasive with good sensitivity. However, US is limited in obese patients and those with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD). With the current obesity epidemic and rise in the prevalence of NAFLD, abdominal computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging may be indicated as the primary screening modality in these patients. The addition of alpha-fetoprotein to a surveillance regimen is thought to improve the sensitivity of HCC *** investigation of serum biomarkers is needed. Semiannual screening is the suggested surveillance interval. Surveillance for HCC is underutilized and low adherence disproportionately affects certain demographics such as nonCaucasian race and low socioeconomic status.

A tremendous amount of data from research was published over the past decades concerning the roles of different vitamins in various gastrointestinal *** instance,most vitamins showed an inverse relationship with the risk of colorectal carcinoma as well as other malignancies like gastric and esophageal cancer in observational trials,however interventional trials failed to prove a clear beneficial preventive *** the other hand,more solid evidence was obtained from high quality studies for a role of certain vitamins in specific *** for this include the therapeutic role of vitamin e in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis,the additive role of vitamins B12 and D to the standard therapy of chronic hepatitis C virus,the role of vitamin C in reducing the risk of gallstones,the positive outcome with vitamin B12 in patients with aphthous stomatitis,and the beneficial effect of vitamin D and B1 in patients with inflammatory bowel *** potential uses are yet to be elaborated,like those on celiac disease,pancreatic cancer,pancreatitis,cholestasis and other potential *** from several ongoing interventional trials are expected to add to the current knowledge over the coming few *** that vitamin supplementation is psychologically accepted by patients as a natural compound with relative safety and low cost,their use should be encouraged in the fields where positive data are available.

To evaluate the prognostic value of site-specific metastases among patients with metastatic pancreatic carcinoma registered within the Surveillance, epidemiology and end Results (SeeR) *** database (2010-2013) has been queried through SeeR*Stat program to determine the presentation, treatment outcomes and prognostic outcomes of metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma according to the site of metastasis. In this study, metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma patients were classified according to the site of metastases (liver, lung, bone, brain and distant lymph nodes). We utilized chi-square test to compare the clinicopathological characteristics among different sites of metastases. We used Kaplan-meier analysis and log-rank testing for survival comparisons. We employed Cox proportional model to perform multivariate analyses of the patient population; and accordingly hazard ratios with corresponding 95%CI were generated. Statistical significance was considered if a two-tailed P value ents with stage IV pancreatic cancer and known sites of distant metastases were identified in the period from 2010-2013 and they were included into the current analysis. Patients with isolated distant nodal involvement or lung metastases have better overall and pancreatic cancer-specific survival compared to patients with isolated liver metastases (for overall survival: lung vs liver metastases: P er metastases: P eatic cancer-specific survival: lung vs liver metastases: P er metastases: P multivariate analysis revealed that age ears, white race, being married, female gender; surgery to the primary tumor and surgery to the metastatic disease were associated with better overall survival and pancreatic cancer-specific *** adenocarcinoma patients with isolated liver metastases have worse outcomes compared to pat
