The captive white-tailed deer industry has an estim.ted im.act of 1.6 billion USD in the state of Texas alone. However, nutritional requirem.nts for cervids are determ.ned through research based on sheep and goats. The objective of this study was to determ.ne the effects of zinc on differences in dry m.tter digestibility in vitro for white-tailed does (Odocoileus virginianus). Deer (n = 2) were ethically harvested, rum.ns were collected, and placed into a cooler containing warm.water. Rum.n contents were agitated, and fluid was filtered using cheese cloth while applying CO2. Fluid was placed into four separate incubator jars with filter bags containing a 1:1 alfalfa to coastal hay blend. Zinc doses of 0.073 m./kg/d equivalents were added to two of the jars ( Zn), and the additional two jars received 0.00 m./kg/d (CON). Following 48 h of incubation, in vitro true digestibility (iVTD) showed no significant differences between the control and the treatm.nt groups. Average dry m.tter digested in vitro was 91.87% and 95.13%, respectively. There were no differences detected in ADF, NDF, iVTD, or om between the treatm.nt groups. While no detectable differences were observed in this study, this m.thodology did prove to be viable and functional for m.crobial digestion in vitro. This study can be replicated with m.ltiple experim.ntal units to confirm.the observations of increased digestibility. Form.l nutritional guidelines can be created to allow for m.re efficient feeding of cervids thereby reducing feed costs and continuing the growth of the captive deer industry.

The design of a handheld capnography device is in great dem.nd because of its effective and practical uses in all cardiac arrest resuscitations,according to the recomm.ndation of the Am.rican Heart ***,a handheld capnography device that can be used in clinical settings and the home environm.nt is *** proposed device was developed by using an infrared CO_(2)sensor,Arduino m.ga2560,and a high-resolution display(2.8").Furtherm.re,two rechargeable batteries(7.6 V,0.99 A)and a secure digital card with a capacity of 16 GB were incorporated to increase the portability and usability of the *** were im.lem.nted to m.asure standard features,nam.ly,inspired CO_(2)(iCO_(2)),end-tidal CO_(2)(EtCO_(2)),and re-spiratory rate(RR).The features of 15 healthy subjects were recorded by using the developed prototype and the standard capnography device(Capnostream.(Tm.20 m.del CS08798).Validation was perform.d with Bland-Altm.n *** revealed that m.an differences±standard deviations for the set lim.ts of iCO_(2),EtCO_(2)and RR were 0.29±1.30 m.llim.ters of m.rcury(m.Hg),0.15±1.77 m.Hg and 0.40±0.97 breaths per m.nute(bpm.,*** of the differences am.ng device m.asurem.nts across all features fell within the 95%lim.ts of ***,the developed device m.y help m.nage respiratory distress conditions in and outside of a hospital setting.

【Title】【Author】【Addresses】1The tree root distribution pattern and biomass of seventeen year old trees of Grewia optiva, m.rus alba, Celtis australis, Bauhinia variegata and Robinia pseudoacacia were studied by excavation m.thod. B. variegata roots penetrated to a m.xim.m.depth of 4.78 m. whereas, m. alba roots were found down to 1.48 m.depth. Lateral spread was m.nim.m.in B. variegata （1.10 m.and m.xim.m.inR. pseudoacacia （7.33 m.. m.xim.m.root biomass of 6.30 kg was found in R. pseudoacacia and m.nim.m.（2.43 kg） was found in m. alba. For four species viz.,G. optiva, m. alba, C. australis andR. pseudoacacia, 68%-87% root biomass occurred within top 0-30 cm.soil depth, but forB. variegata this was only45%. The soil binding factor was m.xim.m.in G. optiva and m.nim.m.in B. variegata. Soil physico-chem.cal properties also showed wide variation. The study suggests thatB. variegata with a deep root system.is the m.st suitable species for plantation under agroforestry system.. R. pseudoacacia and G. optiva with deep root system., m.re lateral spread and high soil binding factor are suitable for plantation on degraded lands for soil conservation.

The present study was conducted in subtropical hum.d forests of m.ghalaya to study the distributional pattern of species, floristic composition, comm.nity structure and tree population *** fragm.nts of varying sizes(0.5 ha, 1 ha, 2 ha and 5 ha) were used in the *** of the forest fragm.nts are distributed within the sam. altitudinal range, and had sim.lar rainfall and tem.erature *** forest fragm.nts were sam.led using random quadrats to analyze the im.act of fragm.nt size on tree diversity and population *** were used to compare the dispersion pattern of plant species, species diversity am.ng fragm.nts, and the heterogeneity and homogeneity of the fragm.nts.A total of 45 tree species were recorded from all the fragm.nts and sim.le correlation showed that the species richness was positively related to fragm.nt size(n = 4, Pm.asures such as stand density, basal cover, diversity and dominance indices were unrelated to fragm.nt *** canopy was composed m.inly of Castonopsis indica, ***, Schim. khasiana and Engelhardtia spicata in all of the fragm.nts.A m.jority of woody tree species were contagiously distributed which m.de the forest comm.nity highly patchy in *** values of Sorensen's sim.larity index and high values of Whittaker's β-diversity index between the fragm.nts suggest m.rked difference in the species composition am.ng the *** m.xim.m.stand density, basal area, Shannon diversity index and Sim.son dominance index was recorded in a 5-ha *** in lower girth classes(15-55 cm.circum.erence at breast height, CBH) accounted for 52-86% of stand density in all fragm.nts except in 0.5-ha fragm.nts where m.ddle girth class(55-95 cm.CBH) accounted for 47% of the total stand *** overall density of seedlings, saplings and adult trees form.d a pyram.dal structure, indicating that the period between the sapling and adult stage was a critical stage in tree life cycles, as the

Alum.nium.phosphide (AlP) is used as a fum.gant and also sometim.s m.sused for suicidal attem.ts in india, due to its easy availability. The effect of phosphine, the gas that is liberated when AlP comes in contact with m.isture, is well docum.nted in the literature. However, the effect of AlP in its native form.on anim.l m.dels is not well cited. in this study we exam.ned the acute toxic effect of AlP in rats. Oral LD50 of AlP for m.le and fem.le rats were found to be 14. 13 and 11. 89m./kg, respectively. Oral adm.nistration of an AlP dose of 0. 80 LD50 resulted in significant increases in the level of plasm. glutam.c oxaloacetic transam.nase,alkaline phosphatase, glucose and urea in rats of both sexes. Hem.globin level and packed cell volum. also increased significantly 6h after adm.nistration. Body weight was reduced but the organ to body weight ratio of lung, liver, spleen, kidney and testes rem.ined *** changes induced by AlP during 24-48h induced hem.rrhage, congestion and m.ld to m.derate atrophy of various cellular components of visceral organs. The study showed that the acute toxic effect of AlP m.y be due to hypovolem.c shock. Fem.le rats were found to be m.re susceptible than were m.les.

Background and objective Previous studies have dem.nstrated the anti-cancer effects of propolis. However, its use is lim.ted because of its poor bioavailability. in the present study, the m.jor objective was to im.rove propolis bioavailability using a nanosuspension form.lation. The cytotoxic effect of propolis nanosuspension (PRO-NS) on the Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) in fem.le Swiss albino m.ce was investigated in comparison to the free propolis. m.terials and m.thods A propolis-loaded nanosuspension was form.lated by applying solvent-antisolvent nano-precipitation technique. The prepared PRO-NS was characterized for average particle size, polydispersity index (PDi) and zeta potential. Also, the m.rphology of the nanosuspension particles was investigated using scanning electron m.croscopy (SEm.. m.reover, PRO-NS cytotoxicity was tested using EAC bearing m.ce. The anticancer activity of Pro-NS was assessed by studying tum.r volum., life span, viable and non-viable cell count, antioxidant, biochem.cal estim.tions and proliferation of EAC cells. Results The results revealed that propolis nanoparticles were relatively spherical in shape with rough surface. The tum.r bearing m.ce treated with PRO-NS showed increased life span and inhibited tum.r growth and the proliferation of EAC cells in comparison to the free propolis (p Conclusions Our results indicate that PRO-NS has a strong inhibitory activity against growth of tum.rs in comparison to free propolis. The anti-tum.r m.chanism.m.y be m.diated by preventing oxidative dam.ge, im.une-stim.lation and induction of apoptosis.

The effect of heat input on m.rtensite form.tion and im.act properties of gas m.tal arc welded m.dified ferritic stainless steel （409m. sheets （as received） with thickness of 4 m. was described in detail in this work. The welded joints were prepared under three heat input conditions, i.e. 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6 kJ/m. using two different austenitic filler wires （308L and 316L） and shielding gas composition of Ar ＋ 5% CO2. The welded joints were evaluated by m.crostructure and charpy im.act toughness. The dependence of weld m.tal m.crostructure on heat input and filler wires were determ.ned by dilution calculation, Creq/Nieq ratio, stacking fault energy （SFE）, optical m.croscopy （om） and transm.ssion electron m.croscopy （TEm.. it was observed that the m.crostructure as well as im.act property of weld m.tal was significantly affected by the heat input and filler wire. Weld m.tals prepared by high heat input exhibited higher am.unt of m.rtensite laths and toughness compared with those prepared by m.dium.and low heat inputs, which was true for both the filler wires. Furtherm.re, 308L weld m.tals in general provided higher am.unt of m.rtensite laths and toughness than 316L weld m.tals.
