Fault Detection for Microgrid Feeders Using Features Based on Superimposed Positive-sequence Power

With the integration of distributed generation(DG) into a microgrid, fault detection has become a major task to accomplish. A scheme for microgrid feeder protection based on a newly proposed feature, ΔRP, defined as the ratio of the sum of positive-sequence real power(PSRP) at the two ends of the feeder to the larger of the PSRPs among the two ends, is proposed. If ΔRP is larger than a threshold, an internal fault is detected;otherwise, the fault is external or there is no fault. The proposed scheme is tested in various scenarios, including fault type, fault resistance, fault location, fault inception angle, varying DG penetration levels, and simultaneous, evolving, and composite faults. In addition to this, the proposed scheme offers a robust performance when subjected to noise, synchronization error, changes in sampling frequency, and changes in the topology of a microgrid. The dominancy of the proposed scheme is proven by a comprehensive comparative study with various available recent schemes. Test results on the IEEE 13-bus network indicate the viability of the proposed protection scheme for a microgrid. Finally, the proposed scheme has been validated on a real-time simulator.

Frequency regulation by fuzzy and binary control in a hybrid islanded microgrid

Islanded microgrids must be self-sufficient in terms of frequency and voltage control due to their islanded operation.A control strategy for frequency regulation by combining the operation of a wind generator,a diesel generator,a battery energy storage system and a dump load in a microgrid is proposed in this *** the proposed strategy,the control task is partitioned into two subtasks:1)choosing the appropriate element to be used for regulation,and 2)providing frequency regulation.A global controller chooses the element to ***,the frequency regulation is provided by separate individual *** proposed control strategy is tested on a microgrid with mixed types of generation and modeled on *** monitoring the power of individual elements and system frequency,it is shown that the proposed control strategy operates *** proposed strategy facilitates the integration of renewable energy sources and enhances frequency regulation.

Sentiment lexicons(SL)(aka lexical resources)are the repositories of one or several dictionaries that consist of known and precompiled sentiment *** lexicons play an important role in performing several different opinion mining *** efficacy of the lexicon-based approaches in performing opinion mining(om)tasks solely depends on selecting an appropriate opinion lexicon to analyze the ***,one has to explore the available sentiment lexicons and then select the most suitable *** available resources,SentiWordNet(SWN)is the most widely used lexicon to perform tasks related to opinion *** SWN,each synset of WordNet is being assigned the three sentiment numerical scores;positive,negative and objective that are calculated using by a set of *** this paper,a detailed and comprehensive review of the work related to opinion mining using Senti-WordNet is provided in a very distinctive *** survey will be useful for the researchers contributing to the field of opinion *** features make our contribution worthwhile and unique among the reviews of similar kind:(i)our review classifies the existing literature with respect to opinion mining tasks and subtasks(ii)it covers a very different outlook of the opinion mining field by providing in-depth discussions of the existing works at different granularity levels(word,sentences,document,aspect,clause,and concept levels)(iii)this state-ofart review covers each article in the following dimensions:the designated task performed,granularity level of the task completed,results obtained,and feature dimensions,and(iv)lastly it concludes the summary of the related articles according to the granularity levels,publishing years,related tasks(or subtasks),and types of classifiers *** the end,major challenges and tasks related to lexicon-based approaches towards opinion mining are also discussed.
