Rheological Properties of Polymers: Structure and Morphology of Molten Polymer Blends

The article reviews a brief literature on the rheological properties of polymer melts and blends. Experimental results on polymer blends are summarized. Technically, vital types of multi-phase polymers such as compounds and blends are discussed. The importance of the rheological properties of polymer mixtures in the development of the phase structure is discussed. And the importance of considering the stress and/or strain history of a material sample in a rheological investigation is discussed. Finally, the outlook on the past, present and future developments in the field of polymer rheology are given. The review concludes with a brief discussion on the opportunities and challenges in the field of polymer blends and blend rheology.

The article reviews a brief literature on the modeling of hydrogen storage device for fuel cell. Different dimensional approaches in modeling hydrogen absorption/desorption in a metal hydride reactor for use in fuel cell are summarized. Mathematical modeling equations involved are also stated. The effect of various operating parameters such as temperature, concentration, viscosity, thermal conductivity and time on the gas is also verified. The importance of various simulation software with reference to their major functions is also identified. The review concludes on the opportunities and challenges with the use of hydrogen as an alternative renewable energy.

Solutions to the Modified Poschl-Teller Potential in D-Dimensions

An approximate solution of the D-dimensional Schrodinger equation with the modified Posehl-Teller potential is obtained with an approximation of the centrifugal term. Solution to the corresponding hyper-radial equation is given using the conventional Nikiforov-Uvarov method. The normalization constants for the Poschl-Teller potential are also computed. The expectation values of 〈r^-2 and 〈V（r）〉 are also obtained using the Feynman- Hellmann theorem.

Schrdinger Equation with Hulthen Potential Plus Ring-Shaped Potential

We present the solutions of the Schrodinger equation with the Hulthen potential plus ring-shape potential for l≠ 0 states within the framework of an exponential approximation of the centrifugal potential. Solutions to the corresponding angular and radial equations are obtained in terms of special functions using the conventional NikiforovUvarov method. The normalization constant for the Hulthen potential is also computed.

The role of the rhizosphere microbiome remain crucial to human existence and can therefore not be over-looked,particularly with respect to plant growth,development and *** rhizosphere is the'home'for several genes,some of which are responsible for the various trait and features exhibited by *** microbes have been identified to inhabit the rhizosphere,some of which are the proteobacteria,nitrogen fixing bacteria,plant growth promoting rhizobacteria,mycorrhizal and myco-parasitic ***,chemical compounds such as amino acids(crystathionine and homoserine),which inhibits nematodes,carbohydrates(fructose),which enhance the growth of microorganisms,and sterols(sitosterol),which regulate plant growth,reside in the plant *** factors con-tributes to the existence and survival of these microbes,one being good agricultural practices,as some farming techniques negatively affects the soil microbial *** study therefore focused on the agricultural and health importance of the soil organisms,as well as the various techniques that can be employed to maintain the rhizosphere microbiome,despite the rise and intensification of various harmful land use *** will enable a better understanding of the soil rhizosphere conservation,restoration and sustainable use,specifically of degraded *** will avoid depleting or alternating the soil microbial content while aiming to ensure a healthy ecosystem,biodiversity,maximal crop produc-tivity,food security and all round sustainability,as targeted by the United Nation's Sustainable De-velopments Goals.

Evaluation of plant growth promoting potential of four rhizobacterial species for indigenous system

The aim of this work was to see whether Pseudomonas putida NWU12, Pseudomonas fluorescence NWU65, Vibrio fluvialis NWU37 and Ewingella americana NWU59 are beneficial to plants and are able to promote plant growth and development when inoculated as plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR). The four rhizobacteria were tested in vitro for PGPR activities and on spinach and pepper in pot experiments. The inoculants are all positive for ammonia (NH3 ), catalase, hydrogen cyanide (HCN), phosphate solubilization and siderophore production. Among the inoculants, E. americana NWU59 is oxidase negative. P. putida NWU12 and P. fluorescence NWU65 are producing indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). The inoculants exhibit some PGPR activities and thus tested in the screen-house. Treatments are control (water) and the four inoculants. Rhizobacterial inoculants increase spinach (17.14%-21.43%) and pepper (15.0%-37.5%) plant heights over the control. Such inoculants have the potential of improving plant yield components and may be used as biofertilizer.

ZnCl2 Enhanced Acid Hydrolysis of Pretreated Corncob for Glucose Production:Kinetics,Thermodynamics and Optimization Analysis

The biomass of agricultural wastes as a source of fermentable sugars for biofuels production will address the food security and environmental preservation *** wastes are rich in lignocellulosic materials which can be hydrolyzed into fermentable ***,low sugar yield and high energy consumption are some of the challenges faced in the process of *** study investigated the low-cost corncob substrate for glucose production by dilute sulphuric acid hydrolysis in the presence of ZnCl_(2) at temperatures below 100℃after pretreatment with 10%*** dependent hydrolysis data were analyzed by Saeman model,thermodynamic parameters were obtained using Erying and Arrhenius equations while Box-Behnken model(Design Expert 6.0 version)was used for experimental *** the substrate concentration increased from 50 mg/L to 150 mg/L,glucose yield increased from 10.4 mg/g to 14.6 mg/g for pretreated corncob while an increase from 3.4 mg/g to 8.6 mg/g was noted for untreated *** hydrolysis rate constant was two orders of magnitude higher than the degradation rate *** parameters revealed endothermic process with positive Gibb’s free energy of hydrolysis having average values of 84.76 kJ/mol and 79.87 kJ/mol for pretreated and untreated samples *** optimum yield from the model was found to be 177.44 mg/g with 3.94%H_(2)SO_(4) and 0.43 mol/L ZnCl_(2) for 200 g/L compared with optimum yield of 46.37 mg/g obtainable without ZnCl_(2).The results of this study showed that the alkaline pretreatment of corncob increased the accessibility of cellulose from the solid fraction and increase glucose production.

Epidemiology of hepatitis B virus infection in Albania

AIM： To assess the prevalence and socio-demographic distribution of hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection in Albania. METHODS： Blood samples from 410 unselected schoolboys, 666 students, 500 military personnel, 1286 casual blood donors, 378 voluntary blood donors and 640 pregnant women （total 3880 non-vaccinated residents of rural and metropolitan areas from all over Albania; 2354 （60.7%） male and 1526 （39.3%） female; mean age of 26.3 years） were tested during 2004-2006 for hepatitis B surface antigen （HBsAg） and antibodies to hepatitis B virus （anti-HBs） by ELISA. RESULTS： The HBsAg and anti-HBs prevalence were 9.5% and 28.7%, respectively. The highest HI3sAg prevalence was evident in the younger age group, such as in schoolchildren （11.8%） and the military （10.6%）. Consequently, the anti-HBs prevalence increased with age, from 21.2% in schoolchildren （mean age： 15.7 years）, to 36.3% in pregnant women （mean age： 26.3 years） and 29.7% in voluntary blood donors （mean age： 40.1 years）. There were no significant differences between males and females. CONCLUSION： Despite the estimated two-fold reduction of HBsAg prevalence in the general population from about 18%-19% to 9.5%, Albania remains a highly endemic country （i.e. over 8% of HBsAg prevalence rate）.
