The small and medium enterprise firms are renowned for improving the nation’s economy through the provision of job opportunities for its populace,improving the financial and investment status of the countries and provision of innovative products that meets the need of the *** are key players in the economy,through sustainable development goals(SDGs)enabling them to thrive in the open business environment and actively applying the digital transformation,promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization should be the core of any country *** research is designed to explore the influence of government intervention and support on enterprise performance and growth in five business sectors-Hospitality,Education,Health care,Bottled Water Production and Transport and Logistics *** research paper had a descriptive research design with a randomly selected sample size of one hundred and ninety-seven *** research hypotheses were tested using(Factor Analysis and Ordinal Logistic Regression Analysis)with Statistical Packages for Social Science(SPSS)version *** results of the study reveal that government intervention policies and intervention programmes when instituted will promote the growth of business firms in *** identified are relevant recommendations that serve as motivation for policy administrators,entrepreneurs,and business managers to ensure that relevant intervention programme is adopted to boost performance and growth of the SME sector in Nigeria.

The cultivation of desirable aquatic organisms is becoming increasingly important as one of the fastest-growing agro-industrial activities in the world. Nigeria, over the years, practised traditional methods of aquaculture in tidal pools and floodplains of inland waters. Recently, the coastal region has been the focus of aquaculture development with introduction of cage culture system. Nigeria is one of the top aquaculture producers in Africa with numerous opportunities for large-scale production, and 80% of production is from small-scale farmers who involve in brackish and freshwater cultivation, except mariculture which has several setbacks. Nigeria is yet to show feasible interest in non-fed aquaculture （macroalgae） which is among the world＇ s most efficient mass producer of proteins and other products. Constraints to production in the industry have been identified, while the prospects can be achieved by expanding aquaculture zones, enhancing management practices of production systems and improving product quality with the resultant creation of jobs, regular income and investment, etc.. This paper explores the status of aquaculture in Nigeria, and the components and the systems of commercial aquaculture were elucidated.

Evaluation of Tp-e Interval and Tp-e/QTc Ratio among Patients with Steady State Sickle Cell Disease

Sickle cell disease (SCD) has been regarded as an inflammatory and pro-?coagulatory disease with profound cardiovascular abnormalities including propensity for ventricular arrhythmogenesis. Tp-e and Tpe/QTc ratio however has?been proposed as better indicators of arrythmogenesis and has?been shown to be prolonged in many inflammatory conditions and correlate with levels of inflammatory markers. However, correlation between Tpe/QTc ratio and the level of highly sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI) have not been reported in SCD. This study aims at evaluating Tp-e Interval and Tp-e/QTc ratio among steady state Sickle cell disease patients in relationship to the degree of anaemia, inflammatory and profibrotic markers.?Methodology:?A cross-sectional hospital-based study comprises?30 sickle cell anaemia patients in steady state with an?equal number of controls having genotype HbAA and HbAS ***, laboratory and ECG parameters were obtained.?Results:?A total of 90 participants?are?with mean age 24.2?±?5.6. The study showed that sickle cell disease patient had significantly lower level of PCV and higher level of PAI, platelet and total white cell count (p value??0.05). C-reactive protein was also higher in them. 76.7% of HbSS patients had abnormal ECG. QTc and Tp-e were also prolonged in sickle cell disease patients compared with controls. An association was found between the level of PCV, PAI and prolonged Tp-e and QTc.?Conclusion:?Sickle cell disease patients have higher levels of inflammatory markers and abnormal ECG patterns are common in them. Moreover, the levels of these inflammatory markers correlate with Tp-e parameters.

Background: Nigeria attained the milestone of being certified wild poliovirus free in the year 2020. However, a drop in the key performance indicators of polio surveillance system was across various Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Oyo State. This drop highlighted the need for an innovative way of enhancing polio surveillance in Oyo State. Methods: This study was conducted in four phases and each phase utilized a cross-sectional study design and purposive sampling technique to select eligible LGAs and participants. LGAs that met at least two of the set-out criteria (had not reported at least a case of Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) 12 months preceding the survey, with decline in AFP case detection rate, had not met AFP key indicators, are densely populated, and has an international border) were selected. A concurrent mixed method of data collection was utilized, and quantitative data were collected with a semi-structured questionnaire administered using Computer Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI) during community active case search, health facility retroactive case search (HFRACS). Qualitative data collection was done through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Surveillance intensification activities were conducted over eight weeks period. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel Software;summarization was done using frequencies and percentages while presentation was done using charts and spot maps. Results: A total of 1277, 49, 259 and 632 settlements, households and health facilities respectively were visited across 24 (73%) LGAs in Oyo State. Of the 150 suspected AFP cases identified, 45 (30%) were rejected cases, 33 (22%) were missed cases and 72 (48%) were true AFP cases. Non-Polio AFP Rate (NP-AFP rate) increased from 2.7 to 6.9 (P Conclusions: Innovative strategies implemented in AFP surveillance across Oyo State have resulted in improvement in AFP surveillance performance indicators in the State.
