A co.f.rmed diagno.is requires the determinatio. o. iso.atio. o.0}the bacteria in well-equipped labo.ato.ies. Develo.ing co.ntries are f.ced with a huge limitatio. o.0}the labo.ato.y inf.astructure to.diagno.e typho.d disease, which wo.ld o.herwise guide in treating, managing, co.tro.ling, and halting the spread o.0}drug resistant mutants. o.jective: This study, theref.re, was aimed at determining the clinical presentatio., perf.rmance o.0}diagno.tic tests and antibio.ic susceptibility testing o.0}Salmo.ella amo.g adults attending Kangema Sub-Co.nty Ho.pital. Study Po.ulatio.: The study po.ulatio. was residents o.0}Kangema Sub-Co.nty in Murang’a Co.nty, Kenya while the target po.ulatio. was adults. Metho.s: The study ado.ted a cro.s-sectio.al study design that emplo.ed a systematic rando. sampling pro.edure. The study to.k place between April and June 2021. The sample size was 97 respo.dents who.all co.sented and were enro.led in the study. Interviewing the respo.dents was carried o.t by administering structured questio.naires to.co.lect quantitative data. Sto.l samples were o.tained and cultured in Cary Blair transpo.t media and then cultured in appro.riate media at the Murang’a Co.nty Ref.rral Ho.pital Labo.ato.y. A rapid Salmo.ella Antigen (SAT) test was also.perf.rmed o. all the sto.l samples. Data Analyses: Wo.d Statistics and Data (STATA) v 13 was used f.r statistical analysis. Results: The prevalence o.0}Typho.d f.ver was at 6.2% (95% CI) which included S. Typhi (n = 1;16.7%) and S. Paratyphi B (n = 5;83.3%). No.iso.ate sho.ed resistance to.Cipro.0}o.acin.
