On the occasion of“World Water Day 2007”,“Water,the challenge of the century”was said by Jaques Diouf,director general of Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO)of the United Nations,spoke of the critical issues related to water management that man will face in the 21st *** importance of water derives from its being an indispensable but limited *** are not able to produce more than Earth offers,nor can we exploit water resources outside the ***,water remains a fundamental asset whose demand is expected to grow considerably in the coming years:It is estimated that,by 2050,almost half of the world’s population will be exposed to potential conditions of water *** aim of this work is to analyse the role of tourism in the consumption of water resources,in particular,the volumes of water“indirectly”spent to meet the needs of *** will explain in detail what these“indirect consumption”consist of and we will deepen the characteristics of the tourism sector in order to understand the mechanisms that bind it to water resources.

Autoimmune thyroid diseases and Helicobacter pylori: The correlation is present only in Graves's disease

AIM: To investigate the correlation between autoimmune thyroid diseases (ATDs) and the prevalence of Cag-A positive strains of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) in stool samples. METHODS: We investigated 112 consecutive Caucasian patients (48 females and 4 males with Graves' disease and 54 females and 6 males with Hashimoto' s thyroiditis HT), at their first diagnosis of ATDs. We tested for H. pylori in stool samples using an amplified enzyme immunoassay and Cag-A in serum samples using an enzyme-linked immunoassay method (ELISA). The results were analyzed using the two-sided Fisher' s exact test and the respective odds ratio (OR) was calculated. RESULTS: A marked correlation was found between the presence of H. pylori (P ≤ 0.0001, OR 6.3) and, in particular, Cag-A positive strains (P ≤ 0.005, OR 5.3)in Graves' disease, but not in Hashimoto's thyroiditis, where we found only a correlation with Cag-A strains (P ≤ 0.005, OR 8.73) but not when H. pylori was present. CONCLUSION: The marked correlation between H. pylori and Cag-A, found in ATDs, could be dependent on the different expression of adhesion molecules in the gastric mucosa.

Individuals with-Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) often complain of difficulty remembering to carry out intended actions. We investigated the relative efficacy of a different reminder in performing a time-based Prospective Memory (PM) task. The PM performance of 24 participants with amnesic Mild Cognitive Impairment (AMCI) has been compared with that of 24 healthy controls. As ongoing task, samples of the Attentive Matrices Test were used. In the PM task subjects were requested to write an “X” every three minutes during a 9 minutes period. Participants received the task consisting either in a low demand condition (checking number “5”) or in a high demand condition (checking numbers “1”, “4”, “9”). In order to be as punctual as possible, participants were asked to simultaneously write the “X” at task time expiration, using a digital clock. Time monitoring was recorded. Reminder occurring was manipulated in that participants could receive critical, accidental or completely absent reminder. As expected, high cognitive demand was negatively correlated with PM performance and time monitoring. Unexpectedly, all the participants did not benefit from the critical reminder. These findings demonstrated, from a behavioral perspective, that Working Memory (WM) and PM processes are not based on the same memory system and PM may require WM resources at high demand.

Translated literature implies the domestication of a foreign culture,saying more about the recipient than the foreign *** focusing in three aspects of translated literature,this work seeks to explore what is translated when translating literature,with a focus on the translation into Chinese of literature written in *** work studies the selection of literature to be translated based on their performance in the award arena than through a thoughtful study of its literary *** awards as a guide,there is an impact in the reputation of the publishing house,as award legitimize its taste and creates a canon independent of the literary considerations preexisting in the canon of the original ***,this work analyses book fairs as spaces where literature is constructed in terms of market and the exchange of cultural and economic ***,I will study the construction of identities around *** the selection and spaces of literature construct literature beyond its aesthetic value,literature helps participants to reinforced their identity,rounding up the process of *** this is a result of a field work conducted during nine months at a Chinese publishing house based in Shanghai and after collaborating with the management team of one of the biggest book fairs in Shanghai,during 2016 and 2017.

This paper presented the simulation results of the three phase electrical systems supplied by four wires with power quality problems, to which the parallel 3-leg APF （active power filters） are connected. The purpose of this study is to analyze the results obtained in these conditions in order to observe the limits of the 3-leg active power filters and to form a foundation for the future studies of the 4-leg active power filters. For a complete analysis, the APF will be controlled by four control methods： synchronous reference system control, indirect control, instantaneous p-q theory control, and positive sequence control. The analysis will watch the power quality indicators： THD （total harmonic distortion factor）, PF （power factor）, Iunb （unbalance factor）.

Assessment of Triazine Herbicides in Soil by Microwave-assisted Extraction Followed by Gas Chromatography Coupled to Mass Spectrometry Detection

An alternative and fast method for the analysis of a mixture of nine triazines herbicides in soil is presented. The method is based on MAE （microwave-assisted extraction） of herbicides using ethyl acetate as extractant. The economy in the use of solvents coupled with the decrease in extraction time and lower power consumption make MAE a technique that meets the principles of green chemistry. MAE operational parameters, extraction time, mass of the sample and extraction temperature, were optimized by RSM （response surface methodology）. Determination of analytes was completed using gas chromatograph coupled to mass spectrometry detection. The selected triazines could be efficiently extracted by the solvent at 80 ℃ for 10 min, with 80% output of maximum power. When the optimized method was applied to analysis samples, the recoveries of analytes ranged from 81.8 to 106.0% and relative standard deviations were lower than 8.41%. The method is stable and reasonable, which can be used for the determination of ninetriazine herbicides residues in soil.
