To re-identify and further group 25 isolates of Trichosporon spp. identified morphologically previously, sequences of D1/D2 region of large subunit （LSU） of ribosomal DNA （rDNA） of 25 tested strains for identification and those of ribosomal intergenic space 1 （IGS1） region of 11 strains for subgrouping were detected. The identifications of tested strains were changed except 6 strains. According to the alignment of the IGS1 region, 6 T. asahii isolates tested fell into 4 groups and 5 T. faecale isolates into 3 groups. Polymorphism of 2 T. japonicum isolates was found in 10 positions. With the alignments obtained in this research compared with the relative GenBank entries, it was found that T. asahii, T. faecale and T. japonicum species were divided into 7, 3 and 2 subtypes respectively. Morphological and biophysical methods are not sufficient for Trichosporon spp. identification. Sequencing becomes necessary for Trichosporon diagnosis. There is obvious diversity within a species.

The increased demand for food worldwide,the reduced land availability for livestock pro-duction,the increasing cost of animal feed and the need for mitigating livestock-related greenhouse gas emissions have driven the search for animal feeding systems that proves more *** tackle this problem,we propose the use of computational support to help researchers compare data on feed efficiency,therefore improving economic and environ-mental *** a solution,we present an integrative architecture capable of combining heterogeneous data from multiple experiments related to dairy cattle feed efficiency *** proposed architecture,called FeedEfficiencyService,classifies animals according to feed efficiency indices and allows visualizations through ontologies and inference *** results obtained from a case study with researchers from the Brazilian Agri-cultural Research Corporation–Dairy Cattle(EMBRAPA)demonstrate that this architecture is a supporting tool in their daily work *** researchers highlighted the importance of the proposed architecture as it allows analyzing animal data,comparing experiments,having reliable data analyses,and standardizing and organizing data from *** novelty of our approach is the use of ontologies and inference engines to enable the discovery of new knowledge and new relationships between data from feed efficiency-related *** store such data,relationships,and analyses of results in an inte-grated *** solution ensures unified access to the processing history and data from diverse experiments,including those conducted at external research centers.

Objective:The purpose of this study is to review the impact on the usage of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of obesity,specifically the usage of acupuncture and ***:PubMed and Google Scholar databases were searched to identify randomized controlled trials,which the methodology focused on the use of acupuncture and phytoacupuncture for the treatment of obesity from the beginning of these databases to February 2018,supplementing with literature retrospective and manual ***:A total of 8 trials including 566 participants met the selected *** the alterations of the body mass index and waist circumference,acupuncture and phytoacupuncture seems to have a positive effect as opposed to the subjects who received superficial acupuncture or ***,there were other parameters that showed promising results such as improvements in the levels of(1)serum total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein and serum fasting triglyceride,(2)serum insulin and leptin,plasma ghrelin and cholecystokinin and(3)serum pro-oxidant antioxidant balance,as well as improvements in(4)skin fat thickness in the upper limbs,trunk and abdomen,(5)abdominal fat and deep subcutaneous fat *** main acupoints employed in the selected studies are found along several meridians such as the stomach,spleen and conception vessel,and the plants used had the main objective of accelerating the metabolism,reducing appetite and resolving the unbalances in the genesis of ***:It is suggested that acupuncture and phytoacupuncture can be useful tools for weight *** combined with a life-style change,they can contribute to achieve better results than just a lifestyle change by ***,the need for further studies to clarify mechanisms of action and adequacy of protocols in order to obtain more homogeneous results is also present.

Incidence is increasing and unfortunately nowadays the incidence is almost overlapping to mortality. Objective: To evaluate the chemical components of active extract from Cnidoscolus quercifolius root bark and its cytotoxic potential against several tumor strains. Methods: The high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detection and ~1H and ^(13)C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy of the extract were used to distinguish the existence of possible functional groups in the root bark extract. The in vitro cytotoxic activity of methanol extract on human colon cancer cell lines was evaluated using OVCAR-8, SF-295, HCT-116, HL-60 strains and the samples were assessed by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide method. Results: The analysis of nuclear magnetic spectra of the active chloroform fraction revealed the presence of absorptions bands correspondent to a mixture of favelines such as neofavelanone, deoxofaveline or methyl-faveline, which structures were confirmed by ultraviolet spectra upon high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detection analysis. The active fraction showed cytotoxic effects in the tested strains, HCT-116, SF-295, OVCAR-8 and HL-60 cells with IC_(50) of 72 hours ranging from 4.95 to 15.23 μg/mL. Conclusions: The results suggest that the substances present in faveleira(Cnidoscolus quercifolius) root bark extract have a cytotoxic potential against several tumor lines, showing a broader antitumour potential, and in addition no adverse to healthy cells. Therefore, the root bark extract of Cnidoscolus quercifolius has a possibility of use for anticarcinogenic therapies.

The essential oils from Mentha piperita, Cymbopogon citratus, Rosmarinus officinalis, Peumus boldus and Foeniculum vulgare were extracted by hydrodistillation and characterized and quantified by GC-MS and GC-DIC. The oils induced hemolysis with all the doses evaluated (0.6 to 1.8 μL), and the diameters of the halos varied between 9 and 15 mm. Pre-incubation of P. boldus oil with Bothrops jararacussu venom resulted in potentiation of venom-induced hemolysis (30%) (proteases and phospholipases A2). The essential oil from M. piperita (0.6 μL) inhibited venom-induced hemolysis by 45%, whereas 0.6 μL of R. officinalis oil increased the hemolysis by 20%. For the essential oil from F. vulgare, 100% inhibition of activity (0.6 and 1.2 μL) was observed. The application of C. citratus oil induced hemolysis with all the volumes evaluated. Phospholipase activity induced by the venom was only inhibited (10%) with the 0.6 μL volume of R. officinalis oil. The oils from M. piperita and F. vulgare (1.8 μL) and C. citratus oil (0.6 μL) potentiated the phospholipase activity. The results highlight the need for a broad characterization and regulation of the use of natural products, because they can have therapeutic or toxic actions.

Five formulations (F) of hamburger were prepared from beef and mechanically separated as follows: meat containing sodium erythorbate (F1);deodorized rosemary extract (F2);oregano extract (F3);rosemary plus oregano extracts (F4) and without antioxidant addition, denominated control formulation (CF). The samples were frozen at ?18°C for 24 hours, then submitted to heat treatment in an electric oven with internal controlled temperature of 75°C, and again frozen for a period of 30 days. The lipid oxidation extent (determined by thiobarbituric acid reactive substances— TBRS) was evaluated at 0, 15 during 30 days. After heating in plate to temperature of 75°C, the samples were submitted to color, taste and odor evaluation by 40 untrained tasters. The formulations F1, F2 and F4 presented lower concentrations of TBRS, whereas CF at day zero already showed very high values, indicating oxidation of the product. The samples showed good acceptance in the sensorial analysis.
