Evanescent random walks are instances of stochastic processes that terminate at a specific rate. They have proved relevant in modeling diverse behaviors of complex systems from protein degradation in gene networks(Ali and Brewster(2022), Ghusinga, et al.(2017), and Ham, et al.(2024)) and“nonprocessive” motor proteins(Kolomeisky and Fisher(2007)) to decay of diffusive radioactive matter(Zoia(2008)). The present work aims to extend a well-established estimation and control problem, the so-called Schr?dinger's bridge problem, to evanescent diffusion processes. Specifically, the authors seek the most likely law on the path space that restores consistency with two marginal densities — One is the initial probability density of the flow, and the other is a density of killed particles. The Schr?dinger's bridge problem can be interpreted as an estimation problem but also as a control problem to steer the stochastic particles so as to match specified marginals. The focus of previous work in Eldesoukey, et al.(2024) has been to tackle Schr?dinger's problem involving a constraint on the spatio-temporal density of killed particles, which the authors revisit here. The authors then expand on two related problems that instead separately constrain the temporal and the spatial marginal densities of killed *** authors derive corresponding Schr?dinger systems that contain coupled partial differential equations that solve such problems. The authors also discuss Fortet-Sinkhorn-like algorithms that can be used to construct the sought bridges numerically.

Objective:The objective of this study was to determine the level of methotrexate(MTX)toxicity in the intestines of mice and to evaluate the protective effect of probiotics composed of Streptococcus,Bifidobacterium,and Lactobacillus species on intestinal cells during MTX ***:Mice were divided into three groups:control,MTX group(received MTX injections),and MTX+probiotics group(received MTX injections along with a diet containing probiotics).Morphological and histological changes,the level of mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)damage,the level of lipid peroxidation products,and gene expression in the mice’s small intestine were ***:We demonstrated that intraperitoneal MTX injections significantly increased mtDNA damage in the liver(p<0.001),small intestine(p<0.001),and blood of mice(p<0.01).MTX elevated the quantity of lipid peroxidation products in the liver and small intestine,indicating its strong prooxidative *** induced structural changes in the mice’s intestines,characterized by leukocytic infiltration of *** therapy in mice partially mitigated the morphological and histological changes in the small intestine induced by MTX,reduced oxidative stress,and promoted increased expression of quinone oxidoreductase 1(Nqo1),which participates in both cell protection against oxidative stress and drug/xenobiotic *** prevented the upregulation of the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1b in the small intestine and induced increased expression of genes associated with the Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2/Antioxidant response element(Nrf2/ARE)pathway,an important mechanism of cell ***:Probiotics can be considered an effective approach to reducing the toxicity of MTX during psoriasis or cancer treatment.

The purpose of this study was to examine the secretion of inflammatory cytokines by cultured monocytes/macrophages in patients with premature coronary artery disease (CAD). The study included 38 patients with premature CAD and 35 patients without CAD. A primary culture of CD14+ monocytes was obtained by immunomagnetic separation. The inflammatory response was induced by incubation of a cell culture with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) for 24 hours on Days 1 and 6. Basal and LPS-stimulated secretion of the cytokines, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8) and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) was assessed by enzyme immunoassay on Days 2 and 7 of cultivation. The level of basal secretion of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, MCP-1 was higher in patients with CAD compared to patients in the control group. The levels of re-stimulated TNF-α secretion and the levels of LPS-stimulated and re-stimulated IL-1β secretion on the second and sixth days were also higher in patients with CAD. LPS-stimulated MCP-1 secretion on the second day did not differ in patients of both groups, but re-stimulated MCP-1 secretion was higher in patients with CAD. The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the basal secretion levels of IL-1β and IL-6 were independently associated with premature CAD, along with smoking, body mass index and serum HDL-cholesterol levels.

Paleoclimate Study of Mountain Ecosystems by Multiple Group Biological Analysis

Methodological problems of climatic reconstruction for different periods of Holocene are discussed on the basis of a multiple group biological analysis on peat-sapropel sediments. The possibility of biological analysis is exemplified by the paleoclimatic reconstruction for Carpathian and Altai Mountain ranges. For the ＂Skolevsky Beskidy＂ national park of Carpaty the paleoclimatic scenarios have been drown up aiming at the more precise definition of climatic conditions for the period of mass mountain slope terracing. The stability of terrace systems of various designs in the current climatic conditions has been assessed. It is shown that during periods of humid climate the terraces, whose designs have been focused on drainage, were built. In periods of dry and warm climate the terrace systems capable of accumulating water were built. Both these types of terrace systems are destroyed in nowadays. Only those terrace systems are stable which were adjusted by their builders to contrast variations of precipitation. For Western Altais the paleoclimatic scenario has been done to forecast the safety of the Bronze Age kurgans （burial earth mounds） with permafrost inside the construction. In the Altay region during the Holocene it has revealed two periods of sharp cooling, the peaks of which occurred in the intervals 4500- 4300 and 2500-2300 years pronounced climatic drying ago, and two periods of 4900-4700 and 130-70 years ago. Depletion of the algae composition in the layer corresponding to the last period of drying climate indicates a very sharp change in the parameters of moisture and turning the lake into a dry swamp. Periods of cold weather may have contributed to the formation of special ritual traditions of the Sakan tribes that require the frozen ground to bury the dead. The later climate fluctuations identified have not affected the safety of permafrost in burial mounds constructed in the V-III cc BC.

A geometric setting for generally nonconservative mechanical systems on fibred manifolds is proposed. Emphasis is put on an explicit formulation of nonholonomic mechanics when an unconstrained Lagrangian system moves in a generally non-potential force field depending on time, positions and velocities, and the constraints are nonholonomic, not necessarily linear in velocities. Equations of motion, and the corresponding Harniltonian equations in intrinsic form are given. Regularity conditions are found and a nonholonomic Legendre transformation is proposed, leading to a canonical form of the nonholonomic Hamiltonian equations for nonconservative systems.
