In vivo assessment of structural changes of the urethra in lower urinary tract disease using cross-polarization optical coherence tomography

Inferring Evanescent stochastic Dynamics from Marginal Distributions

Evanescent random walks are instances of stochastic processes that terminate at a specific rate. They have proved relevant in modeling diverse behaviors of complex systems from protein degradation in gene networks(Ali and Brewster(2022), Ghusinga, et al.(2017), and Ham, et al.(2024)) and“nonprocessive” motor proteins(Kolomeisky and Fisher(2007)) to decay of diffusive radioactive matter(Zoia(2008)). The present work aims to extend a well-established estimation and control problem, the so-called schr?dinger's bridge problem, to evanescent diffusion processes. specifically, the authors seek the most likely law on the path space that restores consistency with two marginal densities — One is the initial probability density of the flow, and the other is a density of killed particles. The schr?dinger's bridge problem can be interpreted as an estimation problem but also as a control problem to steer the stochastic particles so as to match specified marginals. The focus of previous work in Eldesoukey, et al.(2024) has been to tackle schr?dinger's problem involving a constraint on the spatio-temporal density of killed particles, which the authors revisit here. The authors then expand on two related problems that instead separately constrain the temporal and the spatial marginal densities of killed *** authors derive corresponding schr?dinger systems that contain coupled partial differential equations that solve such problems. The authors also discuss Fortet-sinkhorn-like algorithms that can be used to construct the sought bridges numerically.

Objective:The objective of this study was to determine the level of methotrexate(MTX)toxicity in the intestines of mice and to evaluate the protective effect of probiotics composed of streptococcus,Bifidobacterium,and Lactobacillus species on intestinal cells during MTX ***:Mice were divided into three groups:control,MTX group(received MTX injections),and MTX+probiotics group(received MTX injections along with a diet containing probiotics).Morphological and histological changes,the level of mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)damage,the level of lipid peroxidation products,and gene expression in the mice’s small intestine were ***:We demonstrated that intraperitoneal MTX injections significantly increased mtDNA damage in the liver(psmall intestine(ps in the liver and small intestine,indicating its strong prooxidative *** induced structural changes in the mice’s intestines,characterized by leukocytic infiltration of *** therapy in mice partially mitigated the morphological and histological changes in the small intestine induced by MTX,reduced oxidative stress,and promoted increased expression of quinone oxidoreductase 1(Nqo1),which participates in both cell protection against oxidative stress and drug/xenobiotic *** prevented the upregulation of the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1b in the small intestine and induced increased expression of genes associated with the Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2/Antioxidant response element(Nrf2/ARE)pathway,an important mechanism of cell ***:Probiotics can be considered an effective approach to reducing the toxicity of MTX during psoriasis or cancer treatment.

The whole day matters: Understanding 24-hour movement guideline adherence and relationships with health indicators across the lifespan

Paleoclimate study of Mountain Ecosystems by Multiple Group Biological Analysis

Methodological problems of climatic reconstruction for different periods of Holocene are discussed on the basis of a multiple group biological analysis on peat-sapropel sediments. The possibility of biological analysis is exemplified by the paleoclimatic reconstruction for Carpathian and Altai Mountain ranges. For the ＂skolevsky Beskidy＂ national park of Carpaty the paleoclimatic scenarios have been drown up aiming at the more precise definition of climatic conditions for the period of mass mountain slope terracing. The stability of terrace systems of various designs in the current climatic conditions has been assessed. It is shown that during periods of humid climate the terraces, whose designs have been focused on drainage, were built. In periods of dry and warm climate the terrace systems capable of accumulating water were built. Both these types of terrace systems are destroyed in nowadays. Only those terrace systems are stable which were adjusted by their builders to contrast variations of precipitation. For Western Altais the paleoclimatic scenario has been done to forecast the safety of the Bronze Age kurgans （burial earth mounds） with permafrost inside the construction. In the Altay region during the Holocene it has revealed two periods of sharp cooling, the peaks of which occurred in the intervals 4500- 4300 and 2500-2300 years pronounced climatic drying ago, and two periods of 4900-4700 and 130-70 years ago. Depletion of the algae composition in the layer corresponding to the last period of drying climate indicates a very sharp change in the parameters of moisture and turning the lake into a dry swamp. Periods of cold weather may have contributed to the formation of special ritual traditions of the sakan tribes that require the frozen ground to bury the dead. The later climate fluctuations identified have not affected the safety of permafrost in burial mounds constructed in the V-III cc BC.

Nonconservative mechanical systems with nonholonomic constraints

A geometric setting for generally nonconservative mechanical systems on fibred manifolds is proposed. Emphasis is put on an explicit formulation of nonholonomic mechanics when an unconstrained Lagrangian system moves in a generally non-potential force field depending on time, positions and velocities, and the constraints are nonholonomic, not necessarily linear in velocities. Equations of motion, and the corresponding Harniltonian equations in intrinsic form are given. Regularity conditions are found and a nonholonomic Legendre transformation is proposed, leading to a canonical form of the nonholonomic Hamiltonian equations for nonconservative systems.

目的通过调查成都社区50岁以上居民的衰弱情况,探究衰弱相关危险因素并分析运动习惯对衰弱的影响。方法横断面研究。于2022年5月至2023年5月我们采用分层整体抽样方法选取成都市6个社区的50岁以上居民,并使用自制的衰弱调查问卷面对面收集相关信息。运动习惯为每周运动3次以上,每次超过30 min,截至调查之日保持至少5年的生活方式。根据多重缺陷累积模型构建衰弱指数(FI),将调查对象分为非衰弱(FIstic回归探索衰弱相关影响因素,比较各年龄阶段中有无运动习惯居民的衰弱分布和衰弱指数变化。结果共纳入被调查对象999人,其中男性483人(48.3%),女性516人(51.7%);年龄(65.70±9.61)岁。轻度衰弱和中重度衰弱的患病人数分别为346人(34.6%)和107人(10.7%)。单因素分析结果显示,年龄、性别、婚姻状况、教育程度、吸烟、饮酒以及运动习惯是衰弱相关的潜在影响因素(Pstic回归分析显示,70~79岁和80~85岁分别是轻度衰弱和中重度衰弱的预测指标。女性是轻度衰弱(OR=1.196;95%CI:1.262~3.073)和中重度衰弱(OR=2.721;95%CI:1.282~5.774)的独立危险因素。无运动习惯分别是轻度衰弱(OR=1.588;95%CI:1.149~2.193)和中重度衰弱(OR=3.186;95%CI:1.819~5.583)的独立危险因素。60岁以上有无运动习惯居民的衰弱分布和衰弱指数变化均差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论年龄和性别与衰弱的发生密切相关,运动习惯对衰弱的影响在60岁以后开始显现,故倡导中老年人养成运动习惯将有助于推动我国健康老龄进程。

Isotopic Composition of Atmospheric Precipitation in the Cis-Ural Region
