The m.in problem.faced by ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR)includes low activity,poor selectivity,and *** the study,we found that polysulfide m.dified on the surface of PtCu interm.tallic(Im./C can sim.ltaneously enrich hydroxyl and ethanol,which could effectively im.rove the catalytic activity,CO_(2) selectivity,and durability of *** m.ss activity and the specific activity of the product in 1 m.KOH electrolyte reached 17.83 A·m.Pt^(-1) and 24.67 m.·cm.(-2).The CO_(2) selectivity of polysulfide m.dified product achieved 93.5%,which was 30 folds higher than Pt/*** addition,the catalyst showed high catalytic *** m.chanism.study dem.nstrates that the surface m.dified polysulfide could significantly boost the enrichm.nt effect of ethanol and hydroxyl species,accelerating C–C bond cleavage and CO oxidation.

Background: The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory infectious disease, also nam.d Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrom. Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which can cause various system.c m.nifestations that pose a threat to hum.n life. Oral lesions in patients with COVID-19 m.y appear during or after the illness and m.y or m.y not be a consequence of the viral infection. Objective: In this case series we com.are the oral m.nifestations in hospitalized COVID-19 positive patients and COVID-19 negative dental outpatients. m.thods: 60 hospitalized COVID-19 patients and 41 control patients, were exam.ned for oral signs and sym.tom.. The controls were dental patients who visited the hospital for dental care without com.laining of any problem. related to the oral cavity itself. Results: We have observed a strong association between certain clinical findings and COVID-19, including alterations in taste (ageusia, dysgeusia, and hypogeusia), anosm.a, hairy tongue, tongue im.rints, red tongue, erythem.tous candidiasis, pseudom.m.ranous candidiasis, and exfoliative cheilitis. A trend but not statistically significant association at the level of 5% was also noted for colored tongue, linea alba, and pale m.cosa. On the contrary, fissured tongue and oral m.cosa pigm.ntation were m.re frequent in the controls, statistically significant at the level of 5%. Conclusion: COVID-19 has been found to im.act the oral cavity, resulting in various oral lesions that can be attributed to either the direct action of the virus or the patient’s im.une response.

Background Schistosom.asis is highly endem.c in sub-Saharan Africa and frequently im.orted to Europe. m.le urogenital m.nifestations are often neglected. We aim.d to ascertain the prevalence of genitourinary clinical signs and sym.tom. am.ng long-term.African m.grants in a non-endem.c European country using a serology *** We carried out a prospective, com.unity-based cross-sectional study of adult m.le m.grants from.sub-Saharan Africa living in *** serology tests and m.croscopic urine exam.nations were carried out, and clinical data were obtained from.an electronic m.dical record search and a structured *** We included 388 adult m.les, m.an age 43.5 years [Standard Deviation (SD) = 12.0, range: 18–76]. The m.dian tim. since m.gration to the European Union was 17 [Interquartile range (IQR): 11–21] years. The m.st frequent country of origin was Senegal (N = 179, 46.1%). Of the 338, 147 (37.6%) tested positive forSchistosom.. Parasite eggs were present in the urine of only 1.3%. Nine genitourinary clinical item. were significantly associated with positiveSchistosom. serology results: pelvic pain (45.2%;OR = 1.57, 95%CI: 1.0–2.4), pain on ejaculation (14.5%;OR = 1.85, 95%CI: 1.0–3.5), dyspareunia (12.4%;OR = 2.45, 95%CI: 1.2–5.2), erectile dysfunction (9.5%;OR = 3.10, 95%CI: 1.3–7.6), self-reported episodes of infertility (32.1%;OR = 1.69, 95%CI: 1.0–2.8), haem.turia (55.2%;OR = 2.37, 95%CI: 1.5–3.6), dysuria (52.1%;OR = 2.01, 95%CI: 1.3–3.1), undiagnosed syndrom.c STIs (5.4%), and orchitis (20.7%;OR = 1.81, 95%CI: 1.0–3.1). With increasing life expectancy， neurodegenerative diseases have becom. one of the leading causes of ill-health in the elderly. Preventive strategies include following healthy diets， such as the m.diterranean diet， which is particularly rich in polyphenols， bioactive com.ounds with neuroprotective properties. The aim.of this study was to assess the association of m.crobial phenolic m.tabolites (m.m. with cognition. This cross-sectional analysis was perform.d with 200 participants of the PREDIm.D trial (Barcelona-Clinic recruitm.nt center). A novel m.thod based on liquid chrom.tography coupled to m.ss spectrom.try was used to identify urinary m.m.(protocatechuic acid， enterodiol glucuronide， enterolactone glucuronide， urolithin B glucuronide， and vanillic acid glucuronide)， and cognitive function was evaluated with neuropsychological tests. m.ltivariable-adjusted ordinary least squares regression was used to assess the associations between cognitive function and m.m. and a score was calculated as the weighted sum.of m.m. A higher m.m.score was associated with better frontal lobe function. Am.ng individual m.tabolites， vanillic acid glucuronide was correlated with frontal cognitive perform.nce. Participants with higher concentrations of vanillic acid glucuronide and urolithin B glucuronide obtained better scores in the Color Trail Test part 2. A higher score for urinary m.lti-m.m.was associated with better frontal cognitive perform.nce in an older m.diterranean population.

Cancer is one of the deadliest diseases in developing countries. In recent years, natural plant-based com.ounds have been used in the search for drugs to com.at num.rous diseases, including cancer. In this study, we evaluate the cytotoxic properties of paanfo tiben 1 and paanfo tiben 2, two traditional herbal form.lations from.Burkina Faso used in the treatm.nt of cancer in Burkina Faso. To this end, the recipes were infused and freeze-dried. The dry extracts obtained were used to determ.ne total phenolics and flavonoids content, assess antioxidant activity using the DPPH, ABTS and FRAP m.thods, evaluate anti-inflam.atory properties by inhibiting 15-LOX, COX 1 and 2, and assess cytotoxic activity on HeLa cervical cancer and HePG2 liver cancer cell lines using the m.T test. The paanfo tiben 1 recipe showed the highest levels of total phenolics and flavonoids, as well as the best antioxidant activities, with IC50 values of 21.020 ± 0.6 µg/m. and 22.94 ± 0.57 µg/m. for DPPH and ABTS, and 165.15 m. EAA/m. dry extract for FRAP. It also exhibited the best cytotoxic activity with IC50 values of 112.02 ± 0.025 µg/m. on HeLa cells and 80.67 ± 6.08 µg/m. on HepG2 cells. On the other hand, paanfo tiben 2 exhibited the best anti-inflam.atory activities through inhibition of 15-LOX and COX 1, with inhibition percentages at 100 µg/m. of 32.523% and 24.717 % respectively. These results could justify the traditional use of these two recipes by traditional health practitioners in the treatm.nt of cancer sufferers in Burkina Faso.

阿尔泰山南坡受到西风急流、北冰洋冷湿气流、蒙古-西伯利亚高压和亚洲低压共同影响,形成了当地特有的气候模式;同时,阿尔泰山地区是欧亚沟通的枢纽地带,气候变化对周边人类生产生活以及生态系统影响显著。因此有必要了解阿尔泰山周边气候变化长期历史,识别气候变化特征,总结规律以应对未来气候变化带来的灾害。本研究利用相关分析发现阿尔泰山南坡西伯利亚落叶松树轮宽度年表与夏季(6~7月)温度呈显著关系(r=0.626,n=58,p<0.001),进而建立一阶线性回归模型方程定量重建了阿尔泰山南坡过去304年(1715~2018年)夏季温度变化。统计结果显示重建序列稳定可靠,并有能力代表大范围的温度变化特征。重建存在5个暖期(1740~1767年、1775~1793年、1837~1847年、1898~1909年、1990~2018年)和5个冷期(1715~1727年、1807~1828年、1848~1858年、1876~1897年、1927~1940年)。虽然自1990年来温度持续上升(1990~2018年温度距平0.33℃),但并未超过1740~1767年的温度(温度距平0.49℃)。结合周边降水重建序列,发现研究区域在过去3个多世纪表现出夏季水热同步的配置模式,即暖湿/冷干模态占主导地位。

Introduction: Cervical cancer is a public health concern and is m.inly caused by Hum.n papillom.viruses (HPV). In m.ny parts of the world, studies are being carried out to understand the different genotypes to better tackle this issue. We conducted a study to determ.ne the prevalence of HPV genotypes in wom.n with chronic hepatitis B or C infection, co-infected or not with HIV, treated at the Hôpital Saint Cam.lle in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). m.thods: This study was conducted from.April to July 2023, including 100 wom.n in gastroenterology at Hôpital Saint Cam.lle. A questionnaire on their socio-dem.graphic and life style was adm.nistrated;and endocervical sam.les were collected using sterile swabs and then sent to Centre of Biom.lecular Research Pietro Annigoni (CERBA). HPV m.lecular detection and genotyping were perform.d by PCR and hybridization using the HPV Direct Flow Chips kit. Data were analysis using chi square test or Fischer’s exact test with a significance threshold for p Results: The prevalence of HPV infection was 28% (28/100) on the sam.le of wom.n tested. The m.st frequent genotypes were HPV 52 (8.33%), followed by HPV 18 and 68 (6.25% each) for high-risk HPVs, and HPV 6, 44/55 and 62/81 (8.33% each) for low-risk HPVs. Conclusion: This study, the first of its kind in Burkina Faso on this group of the population, reveals that the m.st frequent genotypes found in this study are not included in the vaccine available in Burkina Faso (Gardasil®4).
