Renal injuries are commonly reported in blunt abdominal trauma and are usually associated to other abdominal injuries. Renal rupture may be misdiagnosed and its management, especially in severe lesions, is still controversial. We describe the case of renal rupture diagnosed in the Emergency Department and conservatively managed. The outcome was good thanks to the early diagnosis and the management of the renal trauma. Conservative management in renal rupture is possible in stable patients provided that the imaging is early done.

Suaeda fruticosa is an edible medicinal species belonging to the Amaranthaceae (Chenopodiaceae) family widely distributed in the Mediterranean regions, especially in Tunisia. This species shoots change their colour from green to red-violet along the different seasons, being an interesting matrix to study for its chemical composition. Therefore, in a ground-breaking study, the hydromethanolic extracts of green and red-violet Tunisian S. fruticosa shoots were profiled for their individual phenolic compounds and betalains by High Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled with a Diode-Array Detector and Mass Spectrometry by Electrospray Ionization (HPLC-DAD/ESI-MS), and the in vitro antioxidant, antibacterial, and hepatotoxic properties were also assessed. The obtained results revealed that the hydromethanolic extracts contain interesting levels of phenolic compounds especially O-glycosylated and acylated flavonoids, while betacyanins were the main betalain compounds found. As expected, red-violet shoots were richer in phenolic compounds (45.5 ± 0.2 mg/g extract) and betalains (33.3 ± 0.2 mg/g extract) than greener shoots. Flavonoid/betalains rich extracts presented lower EC50 values for ABTS+, DPPH, and TBARS;as also lower MIC values against Gram-positive bacteria. This study showed that the wild halophyte growing in a hard environment, were drought and salinity are dominant, is an important source of flavonoids and betanin, important molecules that can find application in different industries, given the constant demands for natural bioactives and colouring compounds. Overall, these natural compounds may be valorised and further investigated to validate their potential as functional ingredients.

Mixture of phosphoric and sulfuric acid solutions has been used to investigate the dissolution of natural phosphates (PN) by DRC. The effect of concentration, particle size and stirring speed reaction is examined. Thermochimique properties of each kinetic parameters reaction are determined. It was found that these parameters have a considerable effect on the thermochemical aspect of the attack reaction. It is known that the process of PN sulphophosphoric acid attack leads to the formation of dihydrate (CaSO4.2H2O: DH). The present work shows the precipitation of other residues their formula depends on factors studied. The increase in concentration leads to the formation of hemihydrate (CaSO4v1/2H2O:HH) beside DH for the low values of% H2SO4 due to the solubility of dihydrate on the etching solution and the precipitation of (Ca (H2PO4)2.2H2O) next of DH for low agitation values because of the lack of turbulence between the liquid phase and the solid phase which favors the precipitation of this latter compound.

A calorimetric, Differential Reaction Calorimetry (DRC), study of the thermochemical of the attack of a phosphate ore from Gafsa region (Tunisia) by a mixture of sulfuric and phosphoric acid is undertaken at different solid-liquid ratio and different temperature. The plot of the quantity of heat measured by integrating the raw signal as a function of the dissolved mass in the same volume solution at 25℃ presents three straight segments attributed at the formation of the hemihydrate (CaSO4·1/2H2O:HH), the dihydrate (CaSO4·2H2O:DH) or a mixture of these two products checked by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and thermal analysis (Differential Scanning Calorimeter: DSC). The attack by the acid mixture was performed at higher temperature and showed in addition the formation of another form of calcium sulfate:anhydrous (CaSO4:AH). Moreover, the variation of mass enthalpy versus temperature presents a break at the T = 45℃. According to our results, it seems that the effect of the temperature on the sulfo-phosphoric attack reaction on the natural phosphate (NP) generates a change of mechanism at around 45℃.

针对树木或高大建筑物遮挡以及噪声等因素造成道路提取结果不完整的现象,根据道路的几何特征,在Snake模型中加入道路宽度信息,构造Ribbon Snake模型。为了克服模型对内部参数依赖性较大、容易受到复杂背景干扰影响的不足,采用B样条曲线对道路的平滑性进行约束,与Ribbon Snake相结合建立道路提取算法,通过调节控制点的数目增强曲线的灵活性。从改进的B样条Ribbon Snake的道路网分割结果可以看出,分割的结果更加平滑,精度更高,对噪声具有更好的鲁棒性。

The effect of composition and annealing temperature on charge transfer properties, in a donor/acceptor nanocomposites based on poly (2-methoxy-5-(2-ethyhexyl-oxy)-p-phenylenevinylene) (MEH-PPV) and MWCNTs functionalized with Polystyrene (PS:MWCNTs), have been investigated. The quenching of photoluminescence (PL) intensity of pure MEH-PPV, by adding different amounts of functionalized carbon nanotubes, exhibits that a photoinduced charge transfer has been occurred. Charge transfer efficiency was obtained for an acceptable concentration of PS:MWCNTs about 0.5 wt% and at annealed temperature of about 80℃. Quenching efficiency studies imply that MEH-PPV/PS:MWCNTs nanocomposites reveal a high degree of PL quenching, reaching a value of η = 76.9%.

Objective:To elucidate for the first time the phenological stage effect on polyphenol,flavonoid and proanthocyanidin contents of pennyroyal(Mentha pulegium)as well as their antioxidant capacities and insecticidal potentials against Tribolium castaneum and Lasioderma ***:Crude methanol extracts from pennyroyal(Mentha pulegium)aerial parts were evaluated for their anti radical,reducing power activities and repellent potentials against selected coleopteran insects during different phenological ***:Phenolic contents of pennyroyal aerial parts and their antioxidant effects were significantly dependent on maturity stage of the *** maximum of phenol production was reached during the full flowering *** was the major phenol in Mentha pulegium with an amount of6.01 mg/g of dry vegetable matter during this ***,at fructification stage,the highest antioxidant activity was not related to high phenolic *** repulsive effect of pennyroyal extract showed that Lasioderma serricorne was more susceptible to pennyroyal extract than Tribolium castarneum with corresponding median repellent dose values of 0.124and 0.006 mg/mL ***,great differences in insect repulsion depending on extract concentrations,exposure time and developmental stage was *** the lowest concentration(0.125 mg/mL),the repellent effect against Tribolium reached its maximum(90%)during the fructification stage(after 24 h of exposure)while this repellent effect was 80%during the vegetative ***:Due to the strong insecticidal potential of pennyroyal extracts,this study highlights the therapeutic properties of this plant and encourages its use as a safer,environmental-friendly and efficient insecticide in food industry.

Elaboration and Characterization of Mullite Refractory Products from Moroccan Andalusite

Enrichment of schist mined in Morocco resulted in an extract essentially made of andalusite, quartz and muscovite, which was investigated with the aim to synthesize mullite refractory materials. X-ray diffraction analysis was used to assess phase transformations upon heating at different temperatures. Mullite formation starts as early as 1200℃ and seems almost total at 1450℃. This process correlates with a weak shrinkage (3.5% at 1450℃) and the formation of an important glass phase. Green compacts obtained by unidirectional pressing the extract powder were heated under air in the temperature range 1200℃ - 1600℃. Chemical and mechanical properties of these materials were investigated and correlated with their microstructure.
