In this.s.udy, an analys.s.of the wind energy potential in the s.uthwes. geo-political region of Nigeria was.conducted. A 37-year （1971-2007） wind s.eed data s.t meas.red at 10m height, obtained from eight meteorological s.ations.within the region was.analyzed us.ng a 2-parameter Weibull function. Bes.des. a techno- economic evaluation of large wind energy convers.on s.s.ems.with power ratings.ranging from 0.6 to 2 MW at different hub heights.bas.d on the levelized unit cos. of electricity was.made for the different s.tes.cons.dered. The res.lt s.owed that electricity cos. varied from 0.06997 and 0.11195 s.（kW. h） to 2.86611 and 4.585785/（kW-h） at limit values.of turbine s.ecific cos. band intervals.of 1000 and 1600 s.kW. It was.further s.own that Lagos. having the highes. accumulated power outputs.of 430.10kW/a from DeWind D7 at 70 m hub height, is.the mos. preferred for economically us.ble power generation in terms.of the levelized unit cos..

In this.paper, the end-us. efficiencies.of the different energy carriers.and the overall energy efficiency in the Nigerian res.dential s.ctor （NRs. were es.imated us.ng energy and exergy analys.s. The energy and exergy flows.were cons.dered from 2006 to 2011. The overall energy efficiency ranges.from 19.15% in 2006 to 20.19% in 2011 with a mean of （19.96±0.23）% while the overall exergy efficiency ranges.from 4.34% in 2006 to 4.40% in 2011 with a mean of （4.31±0.059）%. The energy and exergy efficiency margin was.15.58% with a marginal improvement of 0.07% and 0.02%, res.ectively when compared with previous.res.lts. The contribution of the energy carriers.to the total energy and exergy inputs.were 1.45% and 1.43% for electricity, 1.95% and 3% for fos.il fuel and 96.6% and 95.57% for bio-fuel. The res.lt s.ows.that approximately 65% of the res.dence us. wood and biomas. for domes.ic cooking and heating, and only a fraction of the res.dence have acces. to electricity. LPG was.found to be the mos. efficient while keros.ne, charcoal, wood and other biomas. the leas. in this.order. Electricity utilization exergy efficiency is.affected by vapor-compres.ion air conditioning application apart from low potential energy applications. In addition, this.paper has.s.gges.ed alternatives.in the end-us. application and has.demons.rated the relevance of exergy analys.s.in enhancing s.s.ainable energy policies.and management and improved integration techniques.

Abs.rption enhancement has.been cons.dered as.an effective way of improving coefficient of performance (COP) of refrigeration s.s.ems.and magnetic enhancement is.one of thes. methods. A model of magnetic field enhancement in ammonia-water abs.rption s.s.ems.is.pres.nted in this.paper. A numerical model us.ng finite difference s.heme was.developed bas.d on the cons.rvation equations.and mas. trans.ort relations.ip. Macros.opic magnetic field force was.introduced in the momentum equation. The model was.validated us.ng data obtained from the literature. Changes.in the phys.cal properties.of ammonia s.lution while abs.rbing both in the direction of falling film and acros. its.thicknes. were inves.igated. The magnetic field was.found to have s.me pos.tive effect on the ammonia-water falling film abs.rption. The res.lts.indicate that abs.rption performance enhancement increas.d with magnetic intens.ty. The COP of s.mple ammonia s.lution abs.rption refrigeration s.s.em increas.d by 1.9% and 3.6% for magnetic induction of 1.4 and 3.0 Tes.a res.ectively.

The s.udy evaluates.the energy cons.mption of both wet and dry proces.es.cement manufacturing plant in Nigeria. Enrgy cons.mption data collected for the period 2003 to 2011 were us.d to es.imate the energy cons.mption of the crus.ing, milling, agitation, burning, grinding and bagging operations. The total energy evaluation was.bas.d on the three primary energy s.urces.which include electrical, combus.ion and human. The total es.imated energy intens.ties.were 6545 MJ/ton and 4197 MJ/ton for wet and dry proces.es.res.ectively. The percentage cons.mption of energy in each operation is.93.68 and 90.34% (burning), 2.11 and 4.33% (milling), 0.43 and 0.67% (crus.ing), 1.39 and 0% (agitation), 2.12 and 3.90% (grinding), and 0.27 and 0.75% (bagging) of the total energy inputs.for the wet and dry proces.es.res.ectively. Furthermore, the average total energy cos. of production s.owed that wet proces. is.approximately 40% more cos. intens.ve in cement production than the dry proces. while at the s.me time it is.cos. effective to run production on energy through gas.powered plant than the national grid.

Wellbore ins.ability and s.nd production are all common challenges.in the Niger Delta oil province,res.lting in high drilling and production cos. as.well as.damage to oil *** vulnerability of lithologic formations.to wellbore ins.ability and res.ltant s.nd production is.inves.igated in the four delineated res.rvoirs.of the“Areo”field,wes.ern part of Niger Delta *** foundation for es.ablis.ing the geomechanical properties.in this.s.udy was.a 1-dimens.onal mechanical earth model,us.ng gamma ray(GR),dens.ty(RHOB),compres.ional s.ownes.(DTC),and s.ear s.ownes.(DTs.*** the Areo oil field,two wells.well 001 and well 002)were *** evaluated formations.are s.ill primarily compos.d of compacted s.ale and uncons.lidated s.nds.one,with res.rvoir s.nd units.exhibiting lower elas.ic and rock s.rength properties.than s.ale *** compres.ibility and poros.ty make s.nd more brittle,while low compres.ibility and poros.ty make s.ale s.iffer due to high *** maximum force that can be applied to a s.ale unit without caus.ng it to fail is.17.23 MPa,which is.the maximum average rock s.rength of the *** means.that s.ale requires.more vertical s.res. or pres.ure than s.nd does.in order to deform it(15.06 MPa).The three s.nd prediction approaches.us.d in the analys.s.of s.nd production predictions.have cut-off values.that are higher than the average values.of the *** s.hlumberger s.nd production index method(s.I)indicates.that the res.rvoir has.potential for s.nd influx in the two wells.with the average of the four res.rvoirs.s.udied in wells.001 and 002 being 1.551012 ps. and 1.141012 ps. ***,when a formation's.s.nd production index is.les. than 1.241012 ps.,as.it is.in this.s.udy,the formation is.likely to produce *** findings.s.pport the notion that the defined s.nds.one units.are highly uncons.lidated and have a high potential for producing s.nds.therefore,s.nd control techniques.mus. be factored in

Major goals.of indus.rialization include but are not limited to provis.on of employment, es.ablis.ing a platform for overall national development and improving the capital income of whoever is.involved, which invariably improve the overall s.andard of living. A better pre-vis.bility s.udy mus. encompas. a well analyzed economic apprais.l of the plan. The law of mas. cons.rvation was.applied to develop computer s.ftware with a view to analyzing the major preliminary economic indexes.of indus.rial s.lar drying in both developed and rapidly developing economy. The pres.nt work us.d the life cycle cos. method to inves.igate the s.lar proces. economics. In the paper three major geographical locations.in Nigeria (i.e. Ibadan, Kano and Port Harcourt) were s.lected and their res.ective economic apprais.l was.inves.igated. s.mple s.mulations.revealed that, at a realis.ic initial mois.ure content of 30 (% wet bas.s. of the agricultural produce, economic analys.s.of over 20 years.s.ows.that recommended s.lar collector area of 85.46 m2, 80.71 m2 and 75.96 m2 s.pplied about 67%, 88% and 55.8% of the annual energy needed for Ibadan, Kano and Port-Harcourt res.ectively.
