Methionine(Met)is an.e.sential and first limiting amino acid in the poultry diet that plays a significant role in chicken.e.bryonic development and *** present study examined the effect of in ovo in.e.tion of DL-Met and L-Met sources and genotypes on chicken.e.bryonic-in.e.tinal development and *** eggs of the two genotypes,TeTRA-SL layer hybrid(TSL)—commercial layer hybrid and Hungarian Partridge colored hen breed(HPC)—a native genotype,were randomly distributed into four treatments for each *** treatment groups include the following:1)control non-in.e.ted eggs(noIn);2)saline-in.e.ted(SaIn);3)DL-Met in.e.ted(DLM);and 4)L-Met in.e.ted(LM).The in ovo in.e.tion was carried out on 17.5 d of embryonic development;after hatching,eight chicks per group were sacrificed,and the jejunum was extracted for *** results showed that both DLM and LM groups had enhan.e. in.e.tinal development as eviden.e. by increased villus width,villus height,and villus area(Ped to the *** DLM group had significantly reduced crypt depth,glutathione(GSH)con.e.t,glutathione S-transferase 3 alpha(GST3),occludin(OCLn)gene expression and increased villus height to crypt depth ratio in the TSL genotype than the LM group(Pe HPC genotype has overexpressed insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF1)gene,tricellulin(MD2),occludin(OCLn),superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1),and GST3 genes than the TSL genotype(Pn conclusion,these findings showed that in ovo in.e.tion of Met enhan.e. in.e.tinal development,and function,with genotypes responding differently un.e. normal *** also influen.e. the expression of in.e.tinal antioxidants,tight junction,and growth-related genes.

Simplified seismic scenario analysis of existing masonry buildings accounting for local site effects

This study discusses the effects of local sites and hazard amplification on the seismic vulnerability assessment of existing masonry *** this con.e.t,a rapid seismic evaluation procedure was implemen.e. on an old masonry building stock in the historical cen.e. Galata,located inİstanbul,to determine the seismic risk priority of the built *** scenarios were generated for all soil classes,different moment magnitudes,and source-to-site distan.e. to obtain more accurate results for the seismic vulnerability assessment of the studied building ***,damage distributions estimated un.e. nine different scenarios with/without site effects were compared and illustrated in maps to discuss chan.e. in vulnerability owing to amplification *** this study,by re-examining the rapid seismic evaluation procedure by including geo-hazard-based assessment,the importan.e.of site effects on the vulnerability and risk assessment of built heritage was *** proposed framework in.e.rating field data and local site effects is believed to advan.e.the current applications for vulnerability assessment of masonry buildings and provide an improvement in the application of rapid seismic assessment procedures with more reliable results.

In addition to their visible motion such as swimming(e.g.,with the help ofﬂagella),bacteria can also exhibit nanomotion that is detectable only with highly sensitive instruments,and this study shows that it is possible to detect bacterial nanomotion using an AFM detection *** results show that the nanomotion characteristics depend on the bacterial strain,and that nanomotion can be used to sen.e.the metabolic activity of bacteria because the oscillations are sensitive to the food preferen.e. of the bacteria and the type of surrounding medium.

Gallbladder adenomas are rare lesions(0.5%)associated with potential malignant transformation,particularly with gallbladder adenomas that are≥1 cm in *** detection and management are crucial for preventing lethal carcinoma *** polyps can often be distinguished from the more often non.e.-plastic cholesterol pseudopolyps(5%-10%),which are *** is the first-line tool for initial diagnosis and follow-up when *** question is whether cholecystectomy is always necessary for all *** manage-ment of gallbladder adenomas is determined according to the size of the tumor,the growth rate of the tumor,the patient’s symptoms and whether risk factors for malignancy are ***≥1 cm in size,an age>50 years and a familial history of gallbladder carcinoma are indications for immediate laparoscopic ***,ultrasound follow-up is *** adenomas 6-9 mm in size,the absen.e.of≥2 mm growth at 6 months,one year,and two years,as well as an adenoma sizedexisting risk factors indicates that no further surveillan.e.is ***,it would be preferable to individualize the management in doubtful *** in.e.ventional modalities for preserving the gallbladder n.e. further evaluation.e.pecially to determine the long-term outcomes.

Directed x-rays produced in the in.e.action of sub-picosecond laser pulses of moderate relativistic in.e.sity with plasma of near-critical density are in.e.tigated. Synchrotron-like (betatron) radiation occurs in the process of direct laser acceleration (DLA) of electrons in a relativisticlaser chan.e. when the electrons un.e.go transverse betatron oscillations in self-generated quasi-static electric and magnetic fields. In anexperiment at the PHeLIX laser system, high-current directed beams of DLA electrons with a mean.e.ergy ten times higher than the pon.e.omotive potential and maximum energy up to 100 MeV were measured at 10^(19) W/cm^(2)laser in.e.sity. The spectrum of directed x-raysin the ran.e.of 5–60 keV was evaluated using two sets of Ross filters placed at 0°and 10°to the laser pulse propagation axis. The differential x-ray absorption method allowed for absolute measurements of the angular-depen.e.t photon fluen.e. We report 10^(13) photons/sr withenergies >5 keV measured at 0°to the laser axis and a brillian.e.of 10^(21) photons s^(−1) mm^(−2) mrad−2(0.1%BW)−1. The angular distributionof the emission has an FWHM of 14°–16°. Thanks to the ultra-high photon fluen.e. point-like radiation source, and ultra-short emissiontime, DLA-based keV backlighters are promising for various applications in high-energy-density research with kilojoule petawatt-class laserfacilities.
