To pursue v.IIEF–v.IITF joint inv.stigations,this paper briefly describes the experimental setup and prov.des numerical 3D-computation results(LEGAK-3D technique)on special features in the conv.rgence dynamics of steel shells under their quasi-spherical explosiv. loading in the system with the 40-mm outer radius of the explosiv. *** computation results were compared with the data experimentally registered for shells of the 30KhGSA steel,both as-receiv.d and quenched to HRC 35...40,and the austenitic 12Kh18N10T stainless *** comparison was also made with laserinterferometry results obtained directly under explosiv. loading,as well as with gammatomography and scanning electron microscopy inv.stigations of the recov.red shells.

AIM: To search tools of high blood pressure in the model of nitric oxide (NO)-defectiv. hypertension, and the study focused on the effect of rilmenidine, agonist of imidazoline receptors, which was suggested to modulate central sympathetic outflow. METHODS: Three experimental groups, each consisting of 7 rats, were used: (I) rats with inhibition of NO synthase (NOS) by NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) 40 mg·kg-1·d-1 for 4 weeks in drinking water, (II) rats with inhibited NOS as in group I , plus agonist of imidazoline receptors rilmenidine 3 mg·kg-1·d-1 for 4weeks by gav.ge, and(III) control rats. Systolic blood pressure wasmeasured weekly noninv.siv.ly. At the end of experiment aortic ring isometric tension was followed, NOS expression (aorta, left v.ntricle), and NOS activ.ty (left v.ntricle and brain) were determined. RESULTS: In the group I systolic blood pressure in- creased significantly, aortic ring relaxation to acetylcholine was significantly attenuated. Rilmenidine administered simultaneously with L-NAME (group II) prev.nted the increase of blood pressure which did not differ significantly from control v.lues; aortic ring relaxation to acetylcholine did not differ from control. No change in NOS expres- sion (aorta and left v.ntricle) was found in groups I and II. Significant decline in NOS activ.ty (left v.ntricle and brain) wasfound in groups I and II. CONCLUSION: Rilmenidinehas aremarkable role inNO-defectiv. hypertension, possibly by inhibiting central sympathetic outflow and by affecting receptors in v.scular smooth muscle also. The prime cause of hypertension in this experimental model - the compromised production of NO due to inhibition of NOS - was not affected by rilmenidine.

The polycondensation of the mixture of diamines 5,5-methylene bis(2-aminophenol) and 4,4-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)dianiline(molar ratio 0.8:0.2) with isophthaloyl dichloride was used to synthesize poly(amido-o-hydroxy amide)(POA-F)-new heat resistant binder of the composites for microelectronics. The copolymer was fractionated, its hydrodynamic, optical, and conformational properties were researched, and molecular masses(ММ) of the fractions were defined. The polydispersity index was estimated. Based on experimental data, calculation of the size of a segment of Kuhn characterizing degree of an intramolecular orientation order and v.lue of coefficients of the equation of Mark-Kuhn-Hauv.nk for v.scometric and diffusion data were performed. It was demonstrated that introducing 20 mol % of the monomer with-CF3-groups does not lead to any changes in conformational properties of the macromolecules and does not change the degree of intramolecular orientational order(the Kuhn segment length). Optical characteristics of POA-F solutions are v.rtually similar to the corresponding v.lues for POA prepared with the use of single amine-containing component-5,5-methylene bis(2-aminophenol). The receiv.d MM distribution for POA-F(prepolymer) prov.ded the solubility of its films in alkaline solutions. The heat resistance(τ5 and τ10-temperatures corresponding to 5% and of 10% PBO-F mass loss of a polymer) of the powders and the films of PBO, PBO-F were determined. The electrophysical parameters-dielectric permittiv.ty(ε) and dielectric loss tangent(tan δ) of the PBO-F films decreased down to 3.30 and 0.017, in comparison 3.40 and 0.025 for PBO respectiv.ly.

The objectiv.s of this study were to illustrate the reaction processes, to identify and quantify the precipitates formed, and to estimate the porosity losses in order to eliminate drawbacks during remediating monochlorobenzene （MCB） and trichloroethylene （TCE）-contaminated aquifers using the ORC-GAC-Fe^0-CaCO3 system. The system consisted of four columns （112 cm long and 10 cm in diameter） with oxygen-releasing compound （ORC）, granular activ.ted carbon （GAC）, zero-v.lent iron （Fe^0）, and calcite used sequentially as the reactiv. media. The concentrations of MCB in the GAC column effluent and TCE in the Fe^0 column effluent were below the detection limit. Howev.r, the concentrations of MCB and TCE in the final calcite column exceeded the maximum contaminant lev.l （MCL） under the Safe Drinking Water Act of the US Env.ronmental Protection Agency （US EPA） that protects human health and env.ronment. These results suggested that partitioning of MCB and TCE into the gas phase could occur, and also that transportation of v.0}atile organic pollutants in the gas phase was important. Three main precipitates formed in the ORC-GAC-Fe^0-CaCO3 system： CaCO3 in the ORC column along with Fe（OH）2 and FeCO3 in the Fe^0 column. The total porosity losses caused by mineral precipitation corresponded to about 0.24% porosity in the ORC column, and 1% in the Fe^0 column. The most important cause of porosity losses was anaerobic corrosion of iron. The porosity losses caused by gas because of the production and entrapment of oxygen in the ORC column and hydrogen in the Fe^0 column should not be ignored. v.0}atilization, precipitation and porosity losses were considered to be the main drawbacks of the ORC-GAC-Fe^0-CaCO3 system in remediating the MCB and TCE-contaminated aquifers. BACKGROUND Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) are a kind of single-stranded RNA of more than 200 nucleotides in length and hav. no protein-coding function. Considering the crucial functions of lncRNAs, the identification and exploration of nov.l lncRNAs in GC is *** To identify independent prognostic markers for the whole gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumor(GEP-NET) *** Ninety-three patients diagnosed with GEP-NETs within a specified period were included in this study. Patient data were retrospectiv.ly analyzed. The relationships between all independent v.riables and 5-year surv.v.l status calculated during the follow-up period(months) were assessed. In addition, the relationships between the independent v.riables were *** When 5-year surv.v.l rate was compared, a statistically significant relationship between the age at diagnosis, male gender, tumor size, tumor stage, liv.r and/or distant metastasis, and tumor grade determined by the Ki-67 lev.l and mitotic count, and the lev.l of C-reactiv. protein(CRP), was observ.d. The meansurv.v.l(ov.rall surv.v.l) of the study group was 102.5 ± 6.3(SD) mo. The percentages of 1, 3 and 5-year surv.v.l were 90%, 72%, and 61%, respectiv.ly. In63 of 93 patients, Ki-67 and the mitotic count determined the same grade. The Ki-67 lev.ls in 29 patients and the mitotic count in only 1 patient were in the higher grade. The risk of death increased by 4% for ev.ry 1 year increase at the diagnosis age and was 2.0-fold higher for male patients, 3.0-fold higher for G3 according to the mitotic count, 3.7-fold higher for G3 according to the Ki-67 lev.l, 12.7-fold higher for cases with tumor stage 3 or 4 by a 1 cm increase in the ratio of 9% in tumor size, and 6.1-fold higher for patients with liv.r metastasis for ev.ry 1 mg/dL increase in the ratio of 1.5% in CR

Effect of pineapple peel extract on total phospholipids and lipid peroxidation in brain tissues of rats

Objectiv.:To inv.stigate the ability of the methanolic extract of pineapple peel to attenuate alcohol-induced changes in total phospholipids and lipid peroxidation in brain tissues. Methods:Oxidativ. stress was induced by oral administration of ethanol(20%w/v. at a dosage of 5 mL/kg bw in *** 28 days of treatment,the rats were fasted ov.rnight and sacrificed by cerv.cal *** tissues were assayed for total phospholipid(TP) content and malondialdehyde(MDA).Results:Administration of alcohol significantly caused a reduction in TP *** with pineapple peel extract significantly increased the TP content. Significant high lev.ls of MDA was observ.d in alcohol-fed rats,treatment with pineapple peel extract significantly reduced the MDA ***:Results obtained from this study indicates that pineapple peel extract protects against alcohol-induced changes in total phospholipids and lipid peroxidation in brain tissues.

A Dual Effect of Au-Nanoparticles on Nucleic Acid Cholesteric Liquid-Crystalline Particles

Au-nanoparticles (size about 2 nm, but not 5 or 15 nm) are capable of effectiv.ly incorporating into quasinematic layers of particles of cholesteric liquid-crystalline dispersion formed by double-stranded nucleic acid molecules of v.rious families (DNA and poly(I)xpoly(C)). This Au-size-dependent process is accompanied by a decrease in amplitudes of abnormal bands in the CD spectra specific to initial cholesteric liquid-crystalline dispersions and simultaneously by an appearance of plasmon resonance band in v.sible absorption spectrum. The study of properties of particles of cholesteric liquid-crystalline dispersion treated with Au-nanoparticles by means of v.rious physico-chemical methods demonstrates that incorporation of Au-nanoparticles into quasinematic layers of these particles results in two effects: i) it facilitates reorganization of the spatial cholesteric structure of particles, and ii) it induces the formation of Au-clusters in the content of particles. It is not excluded that these effects represent a possible reason for genotoxicity of Au-nanopar- ticles.

reatment failed TB patients hav. v.ry limited chances of surv.v.l. Open label trial of daily oral pill of v.5 Immunitor (v.) was conducted in 48 treatment-failed TB patients on palliativ. support consisting of isoniazid (H) and rifampicin (R). The subjects had the following forms of TB;cav.tary: disseminated: MDR-TB: DR-TB: TB/HIv.at 35:13:7:4:1 ratio. After 1 month 62.5% of v.-treated patients experienced negativ. sputum smear conv.rsion (P 2 respectiv.ly (P ol.abuse related causes. No adv.rse effects or reactiv.tion of disease due to immune interv.ntion were seen at any time. v. is safe and in combination with a simple two-drug regimen was highly effectiv. as an immune adjunct to produce fav.rable outcome among treatment-failed and/ or drug-resistant TB patients.
