＜正＞ 1 INTRODUCTION It is important for the seismic design or the evaluation of seismic performance of nuclear facilities to determine the maximum input ground motions, considering large seismic sources that may cause severe damages to the site. In this paper we employ the empirical Green’s function method for the simulation of strong ground motions from the Ulsan fault system in Korea, which is located near the nuclear power plant. The source models are assumed based on the geological survey and the trench investigation to the fault, with the empirical scaling relation among the source parameters derived from estimated source models for past earthquakes mainly occurring in the United States and Japan.

The biosynthesis of host lipids and/or lipid droplets(LDs)has been studied extensively as a putative therapeutic target in diverse viral ***,directly targeting the LD lipolytic catabolism in virus-infected cells has not been widely ***,we show the linkage of the LD-associated lipase activation to the breakdown of LDs for the generation of free fatty acids(FFAs)at the late stage of diverse RNA viral infections,which represents a broad-spectrum antiviral *** of membrane transporter systems due to virus-induced cell injury results in intracellular malnutrition at the late stage of infection,thereby making the virus more dependent on the FFAs generated from LD storage for viral morphogenesis and as a source of *** replication of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A virus(IAV),which is suppressed by the treatment with LD-associated lipases inhibitors,is rescued by supplementation with *** administration of lipase inhibitors,either individually or in a combination with virus-targeting drugs,protects mice from lethal IAV infection and mitigates severe lung lesions in SARS-CoV-2-infected ***,the lipase inhibitors significantly reduce proinflammatory cytokine levels in the lungs of SARS-CoV-2-and IAV-challenged animals,a cause of a cytokine storm important for the critical infection or mortality of COVID-19 and IAV *** conclusion,the results reveal that lipase-mediated intracellular LD lipolysis is commonly exploited to facilitate RNA virus replication and furthermore suggest that pharmacological inhibitors of LD-associated lipases could be used to curb current COVID-19-and future pandemic outbreaks of potentially troublesome RNA virus infection in humans.

Dear Editor,Antibiotics are considered indispensable in numerous treatments against infectious ***,their over-prescription and widespread use are emerging as important global issues,as they lead to resistant bacteria,reducing the efficacy of antibiotics[1].The defined daily doses per 1,000 habitants per day for antibiotics in South Korea is 28,which is much higher than the average of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development countries[1].In animal studies,antibiotic tigecycline was found to inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)cells[2].In addition,isoprenoid antibiotic was found to suppress the growth and invasion of HCC by targeting the signal transducer and activator of the transcription 3 signaling cascade[3].Despite evidence of the beneficial effects of antibiotics against HCC,evidence regarding their effects on the longterm development of HCC is *** regarding the incidence of HCC is provided in the Supplementary file.

AIM To investigate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic stent insertion in patients with delayed gastric emptying after *** In this study, we prospectively collected data from patients who underwent stent placement for delayed gastric emptying(DGE) after distal gastrectomy between June 2010 and April 2017, at a tertiary referral academic center. Clinical improvement, complications, and consequences after stent insertion were *** Technical success was achieved in all patients(100%). Early symptom improvement was observed in 15 of 20 patients(75%) and clinical success was achieved in all patients. Mean follow-up period was 1178.3 ± 844.1 d and median stent maintenance period was 51 d(range 6-2114 d). During the follow-up period, inserted stents were passed spontaneously per rectum without any complications in 14 of 20 patients(70%). Symptom improvement was maintained after stent placement without the requirement of any additional intervention in 19 of 20 patients(95%).CONCLUSION Endoscopic stent placement provides prompt relief of obstructive symptoms. Thus, it can be considered an effective and safe salvage technique for post-operative DGE.

In this work, the influences of alumina addition on cristobalite crystallization and properties of injec- tion molded silica-based ceramic cores were investigated. X-ray diffraction （XRD） was used to characterize phase transformations in the samples, and the XRD result indicated that the addition of alumina pro- moted crystallization of fused silica during sintering at 1180-1220 ℃ and thus increases the amount of cristobalite. The increased amount of cristobalite as well as alumina addition led to much more thermal dilation due to their higher coefficients of thermal expansion than that of fused silica. The flexural strengths at room temperature and 1500 ~C were tested, and it was shown that alumina addition could not affect room temperature strength, but decreased the flexural strength at 1500 ℃. In addition, deflection resis- tance during heating to high temperatures was investigated, and the result indicated that alumina addition speeded up high temperature softening of the samples. XRD and scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectrometry （SEMJEDS） analysis suggested that this softening behavior was related with viscous flow sintering which could be accelerated by the reaction of alumina and silica with a product of mullite.

Due to the increasing amount of photovoltaic (PV)-based power generation being connected to power systems, issues pertaining to the integration of the PV-based generators have attracted intense attention. In this connection, the design of a PV-based stabilizer for enhancing power system dynamic stability is examined. The damping action is achieved through the independent control of real power flow from the stabilizer and voltage at the point of common coupling between the stabilizer and grid system. The stabilizer system is designed based on classical frequency response technique. Robustness of the proposed control strategy in enhancing network dynamic stability is demonstrated through computer simulation.

Most cases of medial patella subluxation occur under iatrogenic conditions that are often associated with a prior excessive lateral retinacular release procedure. We report a case of medial subluxation following minor trauma with no history of previous lateral release. The abnormality was identified on magnetic resonance imaging and was successfully treated by direct repair of the lateral retinaculum. The recognition and treatment of medial subluxation of the patella without retinacular release can be difficult. Therefore, consideration of multiple causes through careful medical history taking, physical examination, and radiologic examination is needed for accurate diagnosis.
