Correlation between hydration properties and electrochemical performances on Ln cation size effect in layered perovskite for protonic ceramic fuel cells

PrBa_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(1.5)Fe_(0.5)O_(5+δ)(PrBSCF) has attracted much research interest as a potential triple ionic and electronic conductor(TIEC) electrode for protonic ceramic fuel cells(PCFCs). The chemical formula for Pr BSCF is AA'B_(2)O_(5+δ), with Pr(A-site) and Ba/Sr(A'-site) alternately stacked along the c-axis. Due to these structural features, the bulk oxygen ion diffusivity is significantly enhanced through the disorder-free channels in the PrO layer;thus, the A site cations(lanthanide ions) play a pivotal role in determining the overall electrochemical properties of layered perovskites. Consequently, previous research has predominantly focused on the electrical properties and oxygen bulk/surface kinetics of Ln cation effects,whereas the hydration properties for PCFC systems remain unidentified. Here, we thoroughly examined the proton uptake behavior and thermodynamic parameters for the hydration reaction to conclusively determine the changes in the electrochemical performances depending on LnBa_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(1.5)Fe_(0.5)O_(5+δ)(LnBSCF,Ln=Pr, Nd, and Gd) cathodes. At 500 ℃, the quantitative proton concentration of PrBSCF was 2.04 mol% and progressively decreased as the Ln cation size decreased. Similarly, the Gibbs free energy indicated that less energy was required for the formation of protonic defects in the order of Pr BSCF < Nd BSCF < Gd BSCF. To elucidate the close relationship between hydration properties and electrochemical performances in LnBSCF cathodes, PCFC single cell measurements and analysis of the distribution of relaxation time were further investigated.

Hematite(α-Fe_(2)O_(3)) based photoanodes have been extensively studied due to various intriguing features that make them viable candidates for a photoelectrochemical(PEC) water splitting ***,we propose a Zr-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) photoanode decorated with facilely spin-coated Au nanoparticles(NPs) and microwave-assisted attached Si co-doping in conjunction with a SiO_(x) overlayer that displayed a remarkable photocurrent density of 2.01 mA/cm^(2) at 1.23 V *** kinetic dynamics at the photoelectrode/-electrolyte interface was examined by employing systematic electrochemical *** Au NPs played a dual role in increasing PEC water ***,the Schottky interface that was formed between Au NPs and Zr-Fe_(2)O_(3) lectrode ensured the prevention of electron flow from the photoanode to the metal,increasing the number of available charges as well as suppressing surface charge ***,Au extracted photoholes from the bulk of the Zr-Fe_(2)O_(3) and transported them to the outer SiO_(x) overlayer,while the SiO_(x) overlayer efficiently collected the photoholes and promoted the hole injection into the ***,Si co-doping enhanced bulk conductivity by reducing bulk charge transfer resistance and improving charge carrier *** study outlines a technique to design a metallic charge transfer path with an overlayer for solar energy conversion.

Elevators are essential components of contemporary buildings, enabling efficient vertical mobility for occupants. However, the proliferation of tall buildings has exacerbated challenges such as traffic congestion within elevator systems. Many passengers experience dissatisfaction with prolonged wait times, leading to impatience and frustration among building occupants. The widespread adoption of neural networks and deep learning technologies across various fields and industries represents a significant paradigm shift, and unlocking new avenues for innovation and advancement. These cutting-edge technologies offer unprecedented opportunities to address complex challenges and optimize processes in diverse domains. In this study, LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) network technology is leveraged to analyze elevator traffic flow within a typical office building. By harnessing the predictive capabilities of LSTM, the research aims to contribute to advancements in elevator group control design, ultimately enhancing the functionality and efficiency of vertical transportation systems in built environments. The findings of this research have the potential to reference the development of intelligent elevator management systems, capable of dynamically adapting to fluctuating passenger demand and optimizing elevator usage in real-time. By enhancing the efficiency and functionality of vertical transportation systems, the research contributes to creating more sustainable, accessible, and user-friendly living environments for individuals across diverse demographics.

While hypoxic signaling has been shown to play a role in many cellular processes,its role in metabolism-linked extracellular matrix(ECM)organization and downstream processes of cell fate after musculoskeletal injury remains to be ***(HO)is a debilitating condition where abnormal bone formation occurs within extra-skeletal *** andhypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α)activation have been shown to promote ***,the underlying molecular mechanisms bywhich the HIF-1αpathway in mesenchymal progenitor cells(MPCs)contributes to pathologic bone formation remain to ***,we used a proven mouse injury-induced HO model to investigate the role of HIF-1αon aberrant cell ***-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)and spatial transcriptomics analyses of the HO site,we found that collagen ECM organizationis the most highly up-regulated biological process in *** mesenchymal cell-specific deletion of Hif1α(Hoxa11-CreER^(T2);Hif1a^(fl/fl))significantly mitigated HO in ***-seq analysis of these Hoxa11-CreER^(T2);Hif1a^(fl/fl)mice identified the PLOD2/LOXpathway for collagen cross-linking as downstream of the HIF-1αregulation of ***,our scRNA-seq data and mechanisticstudies further uncovered that glucose metabolism in MPCs is most highly impacted by HIF-1α*** a translational aspect,a pan-LOX inhibitor significantly decreased HO.A newly screened compound revealed that the inhibition of PLOD2 activity in MPCssignificantly decreased osteogenic differentiation and glycolytic *** suggests that the HIF-1α/PLOD2/LOX axis linked tometabolism regulates HO-forming MPC *** results suggest that the HIF-1α/PLOD2/LOX pathway represents a promisingstrategy to mitigate HO formation.

Background:Transmembrane 4 L six family member 5(TM4SF5)translocates subcellularly and functions metabolically,although it is unclear how intracellu-lar TM4SF5 translocation is linked to metabolic *** is thus of interests to understand how the traffic dynamics of TM4SF5 to subcellular endosomal membranes are correlated to regulatory roles of ***:Here,we explored the metabolic significance of TM4SF5 localization at mitochondria-lysosome contact sites(MLCSs),using in vitro cells and in vivo animal systems,via approaches by immunofluorescence,proximity labelling based proteomics analysis,organelle reconstitution ***:Upon extracellular glucose repletion following depletion,TM4SF5 became enriched at MLCSs via an interaction between mitochondrial FK506-binding protein 8(FKBP8)and lysosomal *** labeling showed molecular clustering of phospho-dynamic-related protein I(DRP1)and certain mitophagy receptors at TM4SF5-enriched MLCSs,leading to mitochondrial fis-sion and ***4SF5 bound NPC intracellular cholesterol transporter 1(NPC1)and free cholesterol,and mediated export of lysosomal cholesterol to mitochondria,leading to impaired oxidative phosphorylation but intact tri-carboxylic acid(TCA)cycle andβ-*** mouse models,hepatocyte Tm4sf5 promoted mitophagy and cholesterol transport to mitochondria,both with positive relations to liver ***:Our findings suggested that TM4SF5-enriched MLCSs regu-late glucose catabolism by facilitating cholesterol export for mitochondrial reprogramming,presumably while hepatocellular carcinogenesis,recapitulating aspects for hepatocellular carcinoma metabolism with mitochondrial repro-gramming to support biomolecule synthesis in addition to glycolytic energetics.

Microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of binary Mg-xBi(x=2,5,and 8 wt%)alloys

The microstructures and mechanical properties of Mg-x Bi(x=2,5,and 8 wt%)were investigated compared with pure *** ascast Mg-Bi billets consist of dendriticα-Mg grain matrix,divorced eutectic Mg_(3)Bi_(2) phase and secondary precipitated Mg_(3)Bi_(2) *** homogenization,secondary precipitated Mg_(3)Bi_(2) particles were all dissolved into the matrix,while most of the divorced eutectic Mg_(3)Bi_(2) intermetallic compounds *** the as-extruded samples exhibit fully dynamic recrystallization(DRX)and the average grain size decreases and the amount of nano-scale Mg_(3)Bi_(2) precipitates increases with increasing Bi ***,Bi alloying has little influence on the texture of the as-extruded pure Mg,with all the samples showing typical basal *** the results of grain refinement and precipitation hardening,the strengths of the as-extruded samples increase under both tensile and compressive ***,the yield asymmetry significantly decreases with Bi ***,all the as-extruded samples represent similar ductility under compression,while the tensile elongation first increases and then decreases with more Bi *** as-extruded Mg-5Bi alloy demonstrates good combination of strength and ***,Mg-8Bi alloy displays lower tensile ductility than that of Mg-5Bi alloy due to the presence of abundant undissolved coarse Mg_(3)Bi_(2) particles,which act as cracking sources during tensile ***,the strain hardening rate,strain hardening exponent n,and hardening capacity Hc are greatly reduced by Bi addition,mainly owing to the enhanced synergy effects of grain refinement and numerous Mg_(3)Bi_(2) precipitates.

In this pape,~ we study uniform L1-stability and asymptotic completeness of the Vlasov-Yukawa-Boltzmann （V-Y-B） system. For a sufficiently small rand smooth initial data, we show that classical solutions exist globally and satisfy dispersion estimates, uniform L1-stability with respect to initial data and scattering type estimate. We show that the short range nature of interactions due to the Yukawa potential enables us to construct robust Lyapunov type functional to derive scattering states. In the zero mass limit of force carrier particles, we also show that the classical solutions to the V-Y-B system converge to that of the Vlasov-Poisson-Boltzmann （V-P-B） system in any finite time interval

Real time sensing of crop yield is critical for a successful implementation of precision *** monitoring system is an optional component of a 55 kW multi-purpose combine harvester,developed in Korea,for both domestic and global markets,especially Asian countries where field sizes are relatively *** aim of the present study was to fabricate and evaluate the performance of a grain flow sensor suitable to the mid-sized full-feed type combine for rice,soybean,and ***,commercially available non-contact type sensing modules(optical,ultrasonic,laser,and microwave modules)were chosen for alternative candidates,to be further tested in a laboratory *** the laboratory tests,the ultrasonic module was selected as a potential approach and the performance was improved by increasing the number of modules and their ***,the improved grain flow sensor was evaluated during field harvesting *** tests with the improved grain flow sensor showed a good potential for rice(R^(2)=0.85,RMSE=126.14 g/s),soybean(R^(2)=0.78,RMSE=43.87 g/s),and barley(R^(2)=0.83,RMSE=37.39 g/s).Further research would be necessary for improvement and commercialization,through various signal processing and field tests under different field and crop conditions.
