Background: Adult T- cell leukaemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is a human malignancy associated with human T- cell leukaemia virus type I (HTLV- I). ATLL frequently involves the skin. Objectives: To correlate the clinicopathological features and prognosis in patients with ATLL and cutaneous lesions. Methods: We examined the HTLV- I proviral state and the clinicopathological features of the cutaneous lesions in 80 patients with serum anti- ATL antibody, to clarify the correlation between macroscopic/histopathological findings and prognosis. Southern blot analysis was performed in all cases to detect monoclonal HTLV- I proviral DNA integration. Results: The cutaneous lesions of 46 patients were positive for proviral DNA integration. The median survival time of patients with monoclonal proviral DNA integration in cutaneous lesions was 14 months, which was markedly shorter than that of patients negative for proviral DNA integration (72 months). Of the 46 patients with proviral DNA, 21 had solitary or multiple red nodules (including three with subcutaneous induration), eight had multiple red papules and 17 had erythema. Patients with papules and nodules had poorer prognosis than those with erythema. Histopathologically, the prognosis was poorer in patients with nodular or diffuse infiltration of medium- sized to large lymphoma cells, compared with those with perivascular infiltration of small to medium- sized lymphoma cells. Conclusions: Our results show a close correlation between clinicopathological features of HTLV- I- associated cutaneous lesions and prognosis.

Specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators including maresin 1 mediate resolution but the levels of these are reduced in Alzheimer's disease brain, suggesting that they constitute a novel target for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease to prevent/stop inflammation and combat disease pathology. Therefore, it is important to clarify whether they counteract the expression of genes and proteins induced by amyloid-β. With this objective, we analyzed the relevance of human monocyte–derived microglia for in vitro modeling of neuroinflammation and its resolution in the context of Alzheimer's disease and investigated the pro-resolving bioactivity of maresin 1 on amyloid-β42–induced Alzheimer's disease–like inflammation. Analysis of RNA-sequencing data and secreted proteins in supernatants from the monocyte-derived microglia showed that the monocyte-derived microglia resembled Alzheimer's disease–like neuroinflammation in human brain microglia after incubation with amyloid-β42. Maresin 1 restored homeostasis by down-regulating inflammatory pathway related gene expression induced by amyloid-β42 in monocyte-derived microglia, protection of maresin 1 against the effects of amyloid-β42 is mediated by a re-balancing of inflammatory transcriptional networks in which modulation of gene transcription in the nuclear factor-kappa B pathway plays a major part. We pinpointed molecular targets that are associated with both neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's disease and therapeutic targets by maresin 1. In conclusion, monocyte-derived microglia represent a relevant in vitro microglial model for studies on Alzheimer's disease-like inflammation and drug response for individual patients. Maresin 1 ameliorates amyloid-β42–induced changes in several genes of importance in Alzheimer's disease, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target for Alzheimer's disease.

Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh. and E. globulus Labill. are economically important species for wood and pulpwood materials. Representative heights for assessing whole-tree values of cell-type proportions(vessels, fibers, ray and axial parenchyma percentages) using increment cores were examined by analysis of within-tree variations. Pattern differences were evaluated between trees and species in both radial and axial directions by statistical data analysis(Moses test). In E. camaldulensis,within-tree variation of vessel percentage was generally higher in the upper and outer regions of the trunk. In contrast, E. globulus within-tree variation was unclear. In both species, although no clear pattern of fiber percentages was observed, within-tree variations of ray and axial parenchyma levels were higher in the lower and inner *** differences in patterns were observed in the axial variation between species for vessel percentages and in the radial variation between trees of E. camaldulensis for ray parenchyma percentages. The representative heights for assessing whole-tree cell-type proportions were 0.8 mabove the ground for E. camaldulensis and 2.8 m for ***, regardless of differences in tree height and pattern of within-tree variation of cell-type proportions.

AIM： To evaluate the utility of diffusion-weighted imaging （DWl） in screening and differential diagnosis of benign and malignant focal hepatic lesions. METHODS： Magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） examinations were performed using the Signa Excite Xl Twin Speed 1.5T system （GE Healthcare, Milwaukee, Wl, USA）. Seventy patients who had undergone MRI of the liver [29 hepatocellular carcinomas （HCC）, four cholangiocarcinomas, 34 metastatic liver cancers, 10 hemangiomas, and eight cysts] between April 2004 and August 2008 were retrospectively evaluated. Visualization of lesions, relative contrast ratio （RCR）, and apparent diffusion coefficient （ADC） were compared between benign and malignant lesions on DWl. Su- perparamagnetic iron oxide （SPIO） was administered to 59 patients, and RCR was compared pre- and ***： DWI showed higher contrast between malignant lesions （especially in multiple small metastatic cancers） and surrounding liver parenchyma than did contrast-enhanced computed tomography. ADCs （mean±SD × 10^-3 mm2/s） were significantly lower （P 〈 0.05） in malignant lesions （HCC： 1.31 ± 0.28 and liver metastasis： 1.11 ± 0.22） and were significantly higher in benign lesions （hemangioma： 1.84 ± 0.37 and cyst： 2.61 ± 0.45） than in the surrounding hepatic tissues. RCR between malignant lesions and surrounding he- patic tissues significantly improved after SPIO administration, but RCRs in benign lesions were not ***： DWI is a simple and sensitive method for screening focal hepatic lesions and is useful for differential diagnosis.

A fast video camera is verified to be a powerful t0ol for observation of filaments/blobs near the last closed flux surface （LCFS）. In order to extract the fluctuation component from the raw data of the fast camera, a pre-processing technique, sliding time window averaging subtraction （STWAS） has been developed to remove the background of slowly varying emission from the bulk plasma. By using this pre-processing technique, the fast camera data are analyzed. A method to identify the filaments in the pre-processed image is also discussed.

The present study aims to conduct 2 types of statistical analysis to reveal the impact of the spread of COVID-19 on train delays by comparing the potential contributing factors before, during and after the outbreak of the virus in the metropolitan train lines in Japan. First of all, the result of the present study clearly revealed the changes in contributing factors for train delays caused by the spread of COVID-19. Specifically, the contributing factors for train delays changed due to the decrease of passengers by the effect of the outbreak of the virus. Additionally, though large terminal stations were considered to be a major contributing factor in causing and increasing train delays in the past, this was not the case after the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, under such conditions, it is more effective to make improvements in small to medium stations and tracks rather than terminal stations. Furthermore, as the decrease in passengers also decreased train delays in commuter lines going to the suburbs due to the spread of COVID-19, the contributing factor for such lines is the excessive number of passengers. Therefore, as for countermeasures for train delays after the effects of COVID-19, it is necessary to disperse passengers in order to avoid passengers concentrating in the same time zones and train lines.

High-spin states in the beam energies. A new and 72 γ transitions odd-odd nucleus ^128I are investigated via the ^124 Sn（^7 Li,3n）^128 I reaction at 28 and 32 Me V level scheme of 12sI is established up to high-spin states at I^π = 16, including 48 levels The present level scheme is largely different from the one in a recent publication due to identification of several doublet and triplet γ transitions and their proper placements in the level scheme. The high-spin level structure exhibits no obvious collective properties and is possibly associated with two and multi-quasiparticle configurations.

Crystalline ErCl_(3) nanowires have been fabricated in single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)with high yield(~90%),and the structural and magnetic properties of the resulting ErCl_(3) nanowires encapsulated in SWCNTs(ErCl_(3)@SWCNTs)*** under high temperature and vacuum using high quality SWCNTs results in a high fi lling-ratio of ErCl_(3) nanowires in the *** high fi lling-ratio of ErCl_(3) nanowires and the use of highly pure SWCNTs with only a small amount of residual Fe catalyst nanoparticles enabled us to observe the magnetic properties of ErCl_(3)@*** determination based on simulated annealing calculations and high-resolution transmission electron microscope(HRTEM)image simulations revealed that the structure of the ErCl_(3) nanowires is unusual with respect to the coordination environment of the Eu3+*** work opens up new possibilities to fabricate various metal complex nanowires with high yield and may also be of more general importance in understanding and exploring magnetic properties in low-dimensional magnetic systems.
