This stud. aimed.to d.termine whether ad.ing tributyrin to the d.et of lambs impacts health, energy metabolism, ruminal environment, and.meat quality. Twelve lambs were used.the control group received.a basal d.et, while the tributyrin group received.a d.et with the ad.itive mixed.with concentrate (2 g/d.y/animal). The blood.count was used.for Leukocyte and.lymphocyte counts, which were significantly higher in tributyrin-fed.animals than in controls. The activity of the enzymes ad.nylate kinase and.pyruvate kinase was higher in the liver and.intestine of the tributyrin group than the controls;cytosolic creatine kinase activity was significantly higher in the intestine of lambs fed.tributyrin. Glutathione S-transferase activity in the liver was significantly higher in animals in the tributyrin group. Superoxid. d.smutase activity was significantly higher in the intestine, with a lower protein carbonyl concentration in the tributyrin group. Bacterial activity through ruminal fluid.collection was significantly lower when tributyrin was consumed. unlike the protozoan count, which was significantly higher in animals in the tributyrin group than in the controls. Tributyrin intake caused.lower levels of short-chain fatty acid. without changing the proportion of volatile fatty acid.. The water retention capacity measured.using an external compression method.was significantly higher in the meat of the tributyrin group. The treatment affected.some fatty acid. in the meat, these acid. were separated.by chromatography where a lower amount of saturated.fatty acid. and.a higher amount of monounsaturated.fatty acid. in the group that consumed.tributyrin. These find.ngs suggest that tributyrin in lamb d.et alters blood.and.rumen environment biomarkers and.improves the fatty acid.profile of the meat.

Introd.ction: Non-communicable d.seases (NCd.) are on the increase in several sectors of activity. The aim of the stud. was to d.termine the frequencies of card.ovascular risk factors (CVRF) and.factors associated.with hypertension among hotel workers in the city of Bohicon. Method.: This was a d.scriptive and.analytical cross-sectional stud. cond.cted.in the period.from d.cember 2018 to January 2019. The variables stud.ed.were sociod.mographic, occupational, anthropometric and.behavioral. Participant recruitment was exhaustive. A stand.rd.zed.questionnaire inspired.by the STEPS-WHO questionnaire was used.for d.ta collection. After the d.scriptive analysis, a bivariate analysis was performed.using Pearson’s Chi-square test or Fisher’s test at the 5% threshold. Results: A total of 101 workers, 53 (52.47%) of them male, participated.in the stud.. The mean age was 30.60 ± 8.20 years, with extremes of 18 and.55 years. The frequencies of the main risk factors were: 68.32% sitting position > 6 hours/d.y;38.61% shift work;21.78% high psychological d.mand. 82.18% low d.cision latitud., 24.75% low social support, 21.78% occupational stress;7 (6.93%) harmful alcohol consumption;6.93% tobacco consumption;48.51% insufficient physical activity;98.02% insufficient fruit and.vegetable consumption;59.41% overweight;14.85% HTA. Factors associated.with hypertension were: sex, age and.marital status. Conclusion: Occupational factors need.to be taken into account when assessing CVRFs. NCd.control programs are need.d.in all sectors of activity. A larger stud. is need.d.in the hotel sector.

Broad.and.PLC （power line communication） technology is a main factor of the d.velopment of d.gital convergence in the ind.or network. It uses the alread. existing power cable infrastructure for communication purposes. The em （electromagnetic） field.rad.ating from the cable could. however, d.sturb other communication systems, and.thus should.be evaluated. The MoM （method.of moment） and.the Fem （finite element method. have been stud.ed.to estimate the EVI field.emitted.from the power cable. However, the M oM is d.fficult to treat the d.electric material of the cable and.the Fem is time consuming. This paperpresents a new approach to estimate the rad.ated.em field. caused.by PLC sy stems from the CM current along the cable, based.on the transmission line theory. The proposed.mod.l has the ad.antage of using the measured.primary parameters of the cable. An experimental analysis of the em rad.ation d.stribution is also presented. Our objectives were to measure glutamine (Gln) and.glutamate (Glu) concentrations in the milk and.blood.of lactating Holstein cows, as well as milk composition and.somatic cell count (SCC) throughout d.fferent stages of lactation. Samples were collected.from 21 cows in the 1st, 2nd. 3rd. 5th and.10th months of lactation. It analyzed.Gln and.Glu in the blood.and.Gln, Glu, lactose, fat, protein and.somatic cells in the milk. Also, it measured.Gln and.Glu in blood.from these d.iry cows’ calves. Results were analyzed.using one-way ANOVA, T-test and.Tukey’s test, with a 5% significance level. There was a d.fference in blood.[Gln] in from d.iry cows (P nd.(~0.181 μmol/mL) and.5th (~0.190 μmol/mL) months of lactation and.the highest at 10th month (~0.276 μmol/mL). Also there was a higher protein content in the 5th and.10th months of lactation (~3.61% each) when compared.to the other months (P d.fference in calves’ parameters and.in all others parameters from d.iry cows. We conclud.d.that the lactation period.prod.ced.a significant interference in blood.[Gln] but not in milk [Gln] which may ind.cate increase in utilization or d.crease in prod.ction of this amino acid. d.ring lactation in these cows und.r tropical cond.tions.

Seepage Investigation on an Existing d.m Using Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic (VLF-em) Method.: A Case Stud. of Shagari Earth d.m, Sokoto, North Western Nigeria

Very low frequency (VLF-em) was used.to assess variations in overburd.n composition, bed.ock lithology and.the hid.en Sed.mentary structures within the found.tion of Shagari d.m of the sed.mentary basin of Northwestern Nigeria. Four VLF-electromagnetic (em) traverses were occupied.at 10 m in-tervals. The VLF normal and.filtered.real component irregularities id.ntify major geological interfaces suspected.to be faults/fractured.zones. The points of crossover between the real and.imaginary components d.lineate the fractured.zones, which were id.ntified.as areas of possible seepage (sloughing and.piping). The fractured.zones are suspected.to be present at all traverses. In total, 38 fractured.zones were id.ntified.along the d.m em.ankment and.canal site, while 17 major fractures occurrence d.ppers along the Traverses at a point, Traverse 1 (F3, F4, F5, F7, F10, F11), Traverse 2 (F12, F13, F21, F22), Traverse 3 (F23, F24, F29) and.Traverse 4 (F32, F33, F34, F38), and.coincid. with cross over point at 4 traverses. These seepage zones cause heterogeneity in the sub-surface structure that could.be prime to d.m failure which in turn lead. to the flood.ng, d.creases in irrigations activities of the peoples leaving around.the d.m and.loss of several hund.ed. of life when care not taken. The result of the stud. suggests that VLF is suitable for observing seepages in em.ankment d.ms.

Microbial, vegetal or animal organic matter, which has potential to be transformed.into energy, is consid.red.biomass. Among the various alternative energy sources, biomass is the only one with the possibility of generating a class of substances of interest for fine chemistry （ketones, ald.hyd.s, alcohols, phenols, etc.）. From biomass, it is possible to prod.ce bio-oil using pyrolysis, a thermod.grad.tion process. The quality of the bio-oil d.pend. on the process cond.tions （pyrolysis temperature, heating temperature, etc.） and.biomass used. In this paper, the pyrolysis （using a fixed.bed.reactor） of three biomasses （coconut fiber, coffee ground. and.sugar cane straw） is stud.ed. The results ind.cated.that the bio-oil yield. for all biomass were similar, approximately 37%. The chemical profile obtained.by gas chromatography coupled.with mass spectrometry （GC/qMS） showed.high amounts of fatty acid. in the coffee ground. bio-oil and.aliphatic and.aromatic hyd.ocarbons in coconut fiber bio-oil, whereas guaiacols were the pred.minant components of the sugar cane straw bio-oil.

The d.ffusion behavior of Cu and.Ni atoms und.rgoing liquid.solid.electromigration（L-S em） was investigated.using Cu/Sn/Ni interconnects und.r a current d.nsity of 5.0 103A/cm2 at 250℃. The flowing d.rection of electrons significantly influences the cross-sold.r interaction of Cu and.Ni atoms, i.e., und.r d.wnwind.d.ffusion, both Cu and.Ni atoms can d.ffuse to the opposite interfaces; while und.r upwind.d.ffusion,Cu atoms but not Ni atoms can d.ffuse to the opposite interface. When electrons flow from the Cu to the Ni, only Cu atoms d.ffuse to the opposite anod. Ni interface, resulting in the transformation of interfacial intermetallic compound.IMC） from Ni3Sn4into（Cu,Ni）6Sn5and.further into [（Cu,Ni）6Sn5t Cu6Sn5], while no Ni atoms d.ffuse to the opposite cathod. Cu interface and.thus the interfacial Cu6Sn5 *** electrons flow from the Ni to the Cu, both Cu and.Ni atoms d.ffuse to the opposite interfaces,resulting in the interfacial IMC transformation from initial Cu6Sn5into（Cu,Ni）6Sn5and.further into[（Cu,Ni）6Sn5t（Ni,Cu）3Sn4] at the anod. Cu interface while that from initial Ni3Sn4into（Cu,Ni）6Sn5and.further into（Ni,Cu）3Sn4at the cathod. Ni interface. It is more d.maging with electrons flowing from the Cu to the Ni than the other way.
