Malaria is a major public health problem in the Cote d＇Ivoire where it is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality. The objective of this study was to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practices of health care providers on the diagnosis and therapeutic procedures used to ensure the management of uncomplicated malaria in the health district of Abidjan. A cross-sectional study was conducted from November 2008 to December 2008 among 169 caregivers who treated 1,691 cases of uncomplicated malaria. Results： The knowledge of the caregivers of the national guidelines regarding malaria was sufficient （89%）. A diagnosis of uncomplicated malaria was established only on clinical arguments （70%）. The percentage of patients who were prescribed artemisinin-based combination therapy （ACT） was 86%. However, 25% of the antimalarials drugs that were prescribed to patients （oral quinine, artemisinin derivatives monotherapy, and herbal medicine） did not meet the recommendations on first choice treatment as suggested by the national program against malaria. These results indicate sufficient knowledge of the national guidelines for the treatment of malaria by health care providers as evidenced by acceptable prescriptions for ACTs despite an incomplete knowledge of the guidelines.

Coarse-grained subaqueous fans are vital oil and gas exploration targets in the Bohai Bay basin,*** insufficient understanding of their sedimentary processes,depositional patterns,and controlling factors restricts efficient exploration and ***-grained subaqueous fans in the Yong′an area,Dongying Depression,are investigated in this *** fans include nearshore subaqueous fans,and sublacustrine fans,and their sedimentary processes,depositional patterns and distribution characteristics are mainly controlled by tectonic activity and *** subaqueous fans developed near the boundary fault during the early–middle deposition stage due to strong tectonic activity and large topographic *** sublacustrine fans developed at the front of the nearshore subaqueous fans in the area where the topography changed from gentle to steep along the source *** the topography was gentle,sublacustrine fans did not *** the late weak tectonic activity stage,late sublacustrine fans developed with multiple stages *** fault activity and related earthquakes steepened the basin margin,and the boundary fault slopes were 25.9°–34°.During the early–middle deposition stage,hyperpycnal flows triggered by outburst floods *** the late deposition stage,with weak tectonic activity,seasonal floods triggered hyperpycnal flows,and hybrid event beds developed distally.

Background:Dietary supplementation of omega-3 fatty acids can reduce the activation of the endocannabinoid system(ECS)by decreasing the availability of arachidonic acid,thus lowering endocannabinoids(e CBs)*** ECS is a modulator of energy metabolism,stress response and inflammation in mammals,yet there is little information on the roles of the ECS in transition dairy *** the periparturient period,the adipose tissue and liver are the main metabolic organs that participate in the adaptations of dairy cows to onset of lactation;however,exceeded adipose tissue lipolysis and accumulation of lipids in the liver have adverse effects on cows'*** we aimed to examine whether omega-3 supplementation during the transition period will modulate ECS activation and affect metabolic and inflammatory indices in postpartum dairy cows,by supplementing twenty-eight transition Holstein dairy cows with either saturated fat(CTL)or encapsulated flaxseed oil(FLX).Components of the ECS,metabolic and inflammatory markers were measured in blood,liver,and subcutaneous adipose ***:FLX supplementation reduced feed intake by 8.1%(P<0.01)and reduced plasma levels of arachidonic acid(by 44.2%;P=0.02)and anandamide(by 49.7%;P=0.03)postpartum compared to *** m RNA transcription levels of the cannabinoid receptor 1(CNR1/CB1)tended to be lower(2.5 folds)in white blood cells of FLX than in CTL(P=0.10),and protein abundance of ECS enzyme monoacylglycerol lipase was higher in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of FLX than in CTL(P=0.04).In adipose tissue,palmitoylethanolamide levels were lower in FLX than in CTL(by 61.5%;P=0.02),relative m RNA transcription of lipogenic genes were higher,and the protein abundance of cannabinoid receptor 2(P=0.08)and monoacylglycerol lipase(P=0.10)tended to be higher in FLX compared to *** 2-arachidonoylglycerol tended to be higher(by 73.1%;P=0.07),and interlukin-6 m RNA transcription level was 1.5 folds lower in liver of FLX
