Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is one of the most frequently encountered traumatic ligamentous lesions of the knee. Several intrinsic and extrinsic factors are linked to this lesion. Anatomical factors increase the anterior translation of the knee and thus promote the stretching and rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. Objectives: To determine the anatomical risk factors favouring ACL rupture by comparing morphometric parameters of patients with knee ACL rupture to patients without ACL rupture, as well as the intercondylar notch index and the tibial slopes of the two groups and describing the ruptured ACLs and associated signs. Materials and Methods: We conducted a case-control descriptive analytical study in imaging centres of the General Henri Mondor of Aurillac Hospital Centre in France (CHM) and the Jordan Medical Centre of Yaoundé in Cameroon (CMJ). MRI exam protocols included T1 SE, T2 SE, proton density and Fat Sat sequences, with slices in all three planes. Morphometry knee variables measured in our study were: intercondylar notch index and the tibial slopes. These measurements were obtained from images stored in DICOM format and post processing software OsiriX MD®for CMJ patients and Explore®for CHM patients. Results: The study included 92 individuals, 38 in the case group and 54 in the control group. The mean age was 36.6 years for both groups;35.5 years for the cases and 37.4 years for the controls. The sex ratio was 1.87 men for 1 woman in both groups;2.16 men for 1 woman for the case group. 53% of ACL ruptures are partial, with the predominant direct sign being morphologic and signal abnormalities of the ACL. The most significant indirect sign of ACL rupture was mirror-image bone contusion that was observed in 47.3% of cases. Introduction: The treatment of viral hepatitis B is based on nucleotide analogs(s). In Burkina Faso, tenofovir is the most widely used because of its effectiveness and cost. The aim of this study was to describe viral hepatitis B under tenofovir in Ouagadougou. Material and Method: This was a longitudinal study, carried out in the outpatient department of the University Hospital of Tengandogo from May 1, 2013 to September 31, 2020, i.e. a period of seven (07) years and five (05) months. All patients with chronic hepatitis B virus who had been taking tenofovir for at least one year were included in the study. Cases of hepatocellular carcinoma and co-infections with hepatitis D, C and human immunodeficiency viruses were excluded from the study. Results: Of 321 patients with hepatitis B, 120 were on tenofovir and 34 were included in our study. These were 24 men and 10 women with an average age of 39 years. Hepatitis B was most often discovered following systematic or voluntary screening (44.1%) or pain in the right hypochondrium (23.5%). The mean initial viral load was 7.9 log. Ten patients had moderate compliance and four were non-compliant. No side effects were reported in 91.3% of cases. The virologic response was complete in 72.7% of patients after six months. Nine out of ten patients showed a biochemical response after 16 months. A histological response was observed in 19/27 patients within a mean of 26.7 months. HBs seroconversion was found in 2/24 patients. Conclusion: Tenofovir is effective in the treatment of viral hepatitis B, but HBs seroconversion is rarely achieved.

Background: Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers, requiring a precise complementary assessment. The aim of this study was to contribute to the improvement of the management of cervical cancer by describing the MRI aspects of cervical cancer according to the IFOG-MRI classification. Material and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study, conducted in patients who came for clinical suspicion, extension assessment of histologically confirmed cervical cancer, from October 2020 to March 2021, in Yaoundé (Cameroon). Results: 54 patients were selected, with an average age of 50.4 years. Genital hemorrhage was the most frequent symptom (92%). The mean tumor size was 52.9 mm. According to IFOG staging, stages Ia, Ib, IIa, IIb, IIIa, IIIb, and IV accounted for 9.10%, 10.20%, 12.50%, 29.50%, 5.70%, 12.50%, and 20% respectively. No patient had known metastasis at the time of examination. Conclusion: MRI allows non-invasive, satisfactory tumor staging examination by providing information on tumor size, parametrium invasion, adjacent organ involvement, and the presence of lymph node metastasis.

Dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs) are thought to contribute to reparative dentin formation, and that they may correspond to heterogenous populations of precursor cells or represent distinct differentiation stages along the odontoblastic lineage. DPSCs share many similarities with mesenchymal stem cells of the bone marrow(BMSCs). It appears that the distribution of tissue stem cells is not random and, within the dental pulp, there are potentially several distinct niches of stem/progenitor cells. In addition to DPSCs, other dental stem cell populations have been isolated. As for DPSCs, further studies are still needed to evaluate their potential of differentiation and their regenerative activity. Up today,(1) the formal demonstration that pulpal resident stem cells are actually the reparative dentin-forming cells recruited in response to injury is still lacking; and(2) the origin, localization and precise identity of odontogenic stem cells remain largely unknown. Dental clonal cell lines may represent valuable tool to answer some fontamental questions concerning the dental stem cell biology. Altogether, the presence of dental cell populations displaying stem cell properties has opened new paths for considering regenerative therapies. This might be aprerequisite to design alternative strategies for capping and endodontic treatment, using stem cells.

油菜籽油质的高低取决于脂肪酸的组成成分比,如油酸（C18:1）、亚油酸（C18:2）和亚麻酸（C18:3）成分的高低。多数冬性油菜品种产出的油中有60%的油酸。对于新食品市场和非食品市场（抗氧化性更好）来讲,开发具更高油酸含量的冬性油菜品种是极其必要的。在本研究中,我们分别从经过两轮EMS诱导的突变体和野生型油菜品种中扩增出甘蓝型油菜（***）fad2（源自于***（fad2C）和白菜型油菜的fad2A）)的克隆,并对它们测序。通过比较突变体和野生型品种中fad2等位基因的序列可以发现两个基因中（fad2C和fad2A）都发生了单核苷酸突变。进一步的序列分析使我们得出,脂肪酸含量变化的机理是突变体中两种突变造成的。根据突变体和野生型中等位基因的序列差异,我们开发了两个单核苷酸多态性标记（SNP）,分别对应着fad2C基因和fad2A基因的突变。六个双单倍体群体用于检验fad2C和fad2A这两个突变的等位基因对油酸含量影响的特点。在进行标记辅助选择渗入性状和高油酸含量油菜育种中,这些新的分子标记将对直接选择需要的fad2C和fad2A等位基因十分有用。

在实际科学研究过程中我们常常会搜集到很多的数据，这些数据可能来自于对研究对象的各种测量或观察。但是只有数据还不够，我们需要通过数据去理解事物，因此需要根据数据总结出相应规律。为了揭示这些数据背后所遵循的规律，我们可以用函数的形式对数据进行描画。例如，众所周知第谷·布拉赫通过长期观测积累了大量有关行星运行的第一手数据，在此基础上开普勒给出了“开普勒三定律”，直到牛顿最终通过万有引力定律给出了行星之间相互作用关系的函数表达。可见，对原始数据进行统计研究，进而提出数据所遵循的函数形式，这对于各门科学都具有重要的指导意义。这就是统计学中函数估计所涉及到的内容，而本书则正是介绍该领域最新进展的一本专著。

我们如何能够消除由残留病原体的污染而对饮用水产生的危害？如何使饮用水在不含有毒处理副产物的情况下安全的输送到用户？这些都是水处理人员日常工作中经常提出的问题。当传统手段的优化不足以解决这些问题时，就必须采取其它的措施。正在进行的研究显示，分别使用臭氧化、氯化合UV辐射可以有效地解决这些问题。
