plasma-chemical Synthesis and Regeneration of Catalysts for CH_4 Steam Conversion

We carried out experimental studies concerning the plasma-chemicalsynthesis(pCS) of a catalyst for CH_4 steam conversion and designed and built the equipment for pCSand/ or regeneration of spent catalyst for CH_4 steam conversion. Under the conditions of anelectric-arc low-temperature plasma (LTp), we studied the Ni-O-Al system and performed acomprehensive physicochemical analysis of the ultradispersed product obtained. It's the first timeworldwide when the conditions of plasma-chemical synthesis and/ or regeneration of CH_4 steamconversion catalysts under the conditions of electric-arc LTp are investigated depending on theplasma-chemical process (pCp) parameters and the plasma-chemical reactor (pCp) type (with CW-'coldwalls' T_W = 500 K or WW-'warm walls' T_W = 1500 K), samples with a specific surface of 120 m^2/gare obtained. plasma-chemically synthesized and/ or regenerated samples have a homogenous chemicalcomposition similar to that the Girdller (USA) conventional industrial catalyst. It is empiricallyestablished that the optimal temperature range in pCR for synthesis of samples with maximumdispersity is (2000～3000) K. Results from investigation on dynamics and kinetics ofplasma-chemically synthesized and / or regenerated catalysts for CH4 steam conversion show thatunder LTp conditions premises for the formation of catalyst compositions are established. They arereduced 3 to 4 times faster than their industrial analogues. High specific surface of the samples,homogenous composition, high rate of active chemical surface formed by reduction, faulty crystallattice of catalytically active phases and mostly high catalytic activity make them a potentialcompetitor with their industrial analogues for their probable production in catalyst shops.

microstructural Development of Ti-B Alloyed Layer for Hard Tissue Applications

microstructural development was analyzed due to the effect of different sizes of precursor powders during surface plasma alloying modification on titanium surface. Ti-B nano and micropowders with 10 wt% B were deposited onto microcrystalline titanium substrate by plasma alloying. As a result, modified surface layer composed of Ti matrix and TiB borides was obtained. The type of the powder precursor influenced recasting process, possible occurrence of porosity and finally the obtained properties and microstructure of the surface layer. Different morphologies and sizes of TiB phase from micro, submicro to even nano increased the hardness and wear resistance of the obtained surface layers. Discussed results referred to a strong TiB precipitation dispersion provided by a fine elements homogenization during mechanical alloying process. Additionally, results of in vitro test with normal human osteoblast cells revealed proper cellular adhesion to modified surfaces. Scanning electron microscopy observation revealed the influence of gas pore size on culturing osteoblast colony. The proposed surface alloying was an effective method of producing TiB phase dispersed in α-Ti matrix with high hardness, good corrosion resistance and good cytocompatibility. Results confirmed that different types of the precursor powders influenced the properties of the surface layer. TiB phase dispersed in α-Ti matrix layer can offer new structural and biofunctional properties for innovative products in hard tissue applications.

The dialdehyde and polymers have been characterized through elemental micro-analysis, IR, UV-Vis and ^1H-NmR spectroscopic techniques. Thermoanalytical studies and viscous flow of dilute solutions of dialdehyde and its polymers have been examined and compared.

Second-generation direct-acting-antiviral hepatitis C virus treatment: Efficacy, safety, and predictors of SVR12

AIm To gather data on the antiviral efficacy and safety of second generation direct acting antiviral(DAA) treatment with respect to sustained virological response(SVR) 12 wk after conclusion of treatment, and to determine predictors of SVR12 in this *** Two hundred and sixty patients treated with SOF combination partners pR(n = 51), R(n = 10), SmV(n = 30), DCV(n = 81), LDV(n = 73), or 3D(n = 15).144/260 were pre-treated, 89/260 had liver cirrhosis, 56/260 had portal hypertension with platelets mELD score ≥ 10 and 17/260 were postliver transplantation patients. 194/260 had HCV GT1, 44/260 HCV *** Two hundred and forty/256(93.7%) patients achieved SVR12(m ITT); 4/260 were lost to follow-up. SVR12 rates for subgroups were: 92% for SOF/DCV, 93% for each SOF/SmV, SOF/pR, 94% for SOF/LDV, 100% for 3D, 94% for pretreated, 87% for liver cirrhosis, 82% for patients with platelets post-liver transplantation, 95% for GT1 a, 93% for GT1 b, 90% for GT3, 100% for GT2, 4, and 6. 12 patients suffered from relapse, 6 prematurely discontinued treatment, of which 4 died. Negative predictors of SVR12 were a platelet count mELD score ≥ 10(p p = 0.005) at baseline. In Interferonfree treatment GT3 had significantly lower SVR rates than GT1(p = 0.016). Side effects were mild. CONCLUSION Excellent SVR12 rates and the favorable side-effect profile of DAA-combination therapy can be well translated into "real-world". patients with advanced liver disease, signs of portal hypertension, especially with platelets patients with GT3 are in special need for further research efforts to overcome comparatively higher rates of virological failure.

xBa_（0.95）Sr_（0.05）TiO_3–（1-x）BiFe_（0.9）Gd_（0.1）O_3[x BST–（1-x）BFGO]（x = 0.00, 0.10, 0.20 and 0.25） multiferroic ceramics were prepared by the standard solid-state reaction technique. Structural characterization was performed by X-ray diffraction. All the samples showed rhombohedral distorted perovskite structure. Surface morphology of the ceramics was studied by the field emission scanning electron microscope（FESEm）. From the FESEm observation, the grain size was observed to be decreased with increasing BST content. Enhanced magnetic properties were observed in BFGO with the increase in BST content because of large lattice distortion. The complex initial permeability increased with the increasing of BST content. The study of dielectric properties showed that the dielectric constant increased, whereas dielectric loss decreased with increasing of BST content due to the reduction of oxygen vacancies. An analysis of the electric impedance and modulus with frequency was performed at different temperatures. Non-Debye-type relaxation processes occur in the compound which was confirmed from the nature of the Cole–Cole plot. The DC conductivity was found to increase with the rise in temperature which indicates the semiconducting behavior of the compound with characteristics of the negative temperature coefficient of resistance. The activation energy, responsible for the relaxation determined from the modulus spectra（0.246 eV）, was found to be almost same as the value obtained from the impedance study（0.240 eV）, indicating that charge carriers overcome the same energy barrier during relaxation. The frequency response of imaginary parts of electric impedance and modulus suggested that the relaxation in xB ST–（1-x）BFGO ceramics follows the same mechanism at various temperatures.

Large and complex construction projects lace risk trom various sources and the successlul completion of such projects depends on effective risk management. This study investigates the risk faced by Chinese firms participating in constructing Ap 1000 nuclear power plants in China. Ap 1000 nuclear reactors are new, Generation III＋ reactors designed by Westinghouse and to be built first in China. The semi-structured interview approach is used to elicit information from experts involved in the Ap1000 projects in China. Based on the interviews, various sources of risk are identified. In addition to general risks that megaprojects normally face, there are unique risks that arise from various sources such as technological, political, organizational, and individual personnel risks. Risk management strategies are proposed to manage general and unique risks identified in the study. The findings of this study would be helpful for Chinese companies involved in the construction of Ap 1000 nuclear power plants to mitigate the risks associated with the projects.
