Hydrogen has been regarded as a promising renewable and green energy source to meet energy needs and attain net-zero carbon *** electrolysis of seawater to make hydrogen is one of the fascinating developments of the twenty-first *** method uses abundant and relatively inexpensive seawater,as opposed to freshwater,which is rare and can be prohibitively *** recent years,significant research and advancements have been made in direct seawater electrolysis technology for hydrogen ***,producing highly effective and efficient electrocatalysts with long-term viability under harsh corrosive conditions remains a challenging and severe topic for large-scale seawater electrolysis *** is still a large accomplishment gap in understanding how to improve seawater electrolysis to increase hydrogen yields and prolong *** is,therefore,crucial to have a condensed knowledge of the tunable and inherent interactions between various electrocatalysts,covering electrolyzer types and paying particular attention to those with high efficiency,chemical stability,and *** extensive discussion is structured into a progression from noble metals to base metal compounds such as oxides,alloys,phosphides,chalcogenides,hydroxides,and nitrides,MXene-based complexes with a concise examination of hybrid *** addition,proton exchange membranes,anion exchange membranes,alkaline water electrolyzers,and high-temperature water electrolyzers were potential contributors to seawater’s *** extensive assessment of the techno-feasibility,economic insights,and future suggestions was done to commercialize the most efficient electrocatalytic systems for hydrogen *** review is anticipated to provide academics,environmentalists,and industrial researchers with valuable ideas for constructing and modifying seawater-based electrocatalysts.

Assessment of knowledge, attitude and practice regarding oxygen therapy at emergency departments in Riyadh in 2017: A cross-sectional study

BACKGROUND: Administering oxygen therapy(OT) has an essential role in preventing/managing hypoxemia in both acute and chronic conditions. It should be adjusted to achieve the normal oxygen saturation of 94%–98% in most cases. This study aims to evaluate knowledge, attitude and practice(KAP) of nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians(EMTs) and Emergency Medical Services(EMS) physicians working at emergency departments(ED) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, a structured questionnaire was used to assess KAP related to OT of nurses, paramedics, EMTs and EMS physicians currently working at an ED of a tertiary care hospital. Knowledge and attitude were assessed using a Likert scale from 1–5, whereas practice was assessed as a yes/no categorical ***: A total of 444 emergency health-care workers(EHCWs) participated, of which 225(50.7%) were male, with the majority(77%) in the age group of 20–35 years. Over half of the sample were nurses(266; 59.9%). The mean score for knowledge about OT was 5.51±1.45, attitude was 26.31±3.17 and for practices 4.55±1.76. The main factors which were associated with poor KAP were workload and lack of local guidelines. The distribution of overall practice score was signifi cantly better among paramedics – nurses group and EMT – nurses ***: This study demonstrates that there is a gap in EHCWs' KAP, particularly regarding when to provide OT to a patient. This gap can affect patients' safety. Extensive educational and training programs about OT are needed to raise awareness among health-care providers.

Integrated Nutrient Management of Safflower (<i>Carthamus tinctorius</i>L.) under Rainfed Conditions

Optimistic and sustainable supply of soil available nutrients to crop plants enhances productivity. Integrated nutrient management (INM) approach can improve soil fertility on long term basis. The present study was conducted to determine effects of INM on quantitative and qualitative characters of two Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) cultivars “Thori-78 and Leed-00”. Five treatments using different composition of poultry litter, farm yard manure, nitrogen and phosphorous fertilizers with recommended dose as a control measure were replicated thrice in randomized complete design. The results of field trial depicted maximum plant height (174.6 cm), number of heads plant-1 (42.67), number of seeds head-1 (59.0), thousand seed weight (42.26 g), biological yield (3089 Kg·ha-1) and seed yield (455.2 Kg·ha-1) recorded from combined application of FYM @ 2 t·ha-1and Half (N-P) (soil application) (T5) in Genotype “Leed-00” which was statistically different from all other treatments. Thori-78 also showed increase in yield and yield components under the same treatment (T5) i.e.2 t·ha-1 FYM and Half (N-P).No effect of INM was found on fatty acid composition of safflower cultivars. The correlation coefficients illustrated positive and significant association of seed yield with plant height (0.89), number of heads pod-1 (0.86) and number of seeds head-1 (0.83) as a result of application of selected treatment. These results demonstrated the significance of INM in safflower yield improvement under rainfed conditions.
