Determinants of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance in the Arab world:a crosssectional study

Background:The Arab region is highly affected by the COVID-19 *** governments have already started to act against the ***,only a few countries provided COVID-19 *** with vaccination is a major topic affecting proper ***,we aim to explore vaccine acceptance among Arab populations,and compare it with the global ***:An internet-based survey using social media platforms was conducted,targeting adults who were able to read and understand Arabic,had access to the internet,and from all 22 Arab league *** to the response rate variation between participants,the countries were grouped into four categories based on their income:Low income,Lower-middle income,Upper-middle income,and High-income *** about demographics,previous COVID-19 infection,and vaccine acceptance tendency were collected and analyzed using Chi-squared(χ^(2))test and Logistic ***:A total of 870 participants completed the survey.59.3%of the participants were male,53.3%were between 25 and 44 years,and 69.9%were Arabs who live inside of their home *** COVID-19 vaccine acceptance rate was 62.4%.A significant higher tendency toward vaccination was identified in males(65.4%,P=0.04)and people living outside their home countries(67.9%,P=0.02).However,age group,level of education,and previous COVID-19 infection were all factors with insignificant *** of High-income countries were more likely to accept the vaccine(70.2%).Conclusions:Less than two-thirds of Arabs are compliant with COVID-19 *** proportion is relatively lower than the global *** is important to develop strategies to promote vaccine acceptance and reach the ideal coverage needed to achieve efficient immunization.

目的：测量中国汉族人与高加索人的健康成年人口腔黏膜血流参数,比较口腔黏膜血流灌注情况在不同人种间的异同,比较口腔黏膜在上颌与下颌、男性与女性之间的差异性,为口腔种植临床中软组织处理提供参考依据。方法：从德国波恩大学在读学生中招募20名高加索人种学生（男性10例,女性10例,平均年龄25.3岁）和20名中国汉族留学生（男性10例,女性10例,平均年龄28岁）,口腔内设计8个测量点M1~M8,其中于上颌中切牙唇侧黏膜、下颌中切牙唇侧黏膜、上颌腭侧黏膜和颊黏膜各2个点。使用O2C激光多普勒血流仪进行血流参数测量,包括血氧饱和度（saturation oxygen,Sp O2）、平均血红蛋白量（relative amount of hemoglobin,r HB）、单位时间内血流量（flow）、血流速度（velocity）。结果：高加索人种和中国汉族两组之间比较,上颌中切牙血氧饱和度平均值分别为75.6%±8.2%和70.4%±7.6%;颊黏膜血红蛋白量平均值分别为79.9±5.8和83.5±6.6,差异有统计学意义,其余各位点血流参数差异无统计学意义。将测量位点各组之间进行比较：上腭黏膜的血氧饱和度为77.1%±10.9%,平均血红蛋白量为67.8±11.1,单位时间血流量194.1±63.7,相比较其他测量部位差异有统计学意义。男性多个测量位点血氧饱和度普遍低于女性,差异均有统计学意义。结论：口腔中不同解剖部位的黏膜血流灌注情况存在差别,性别之间血红蛋白氧结合能力可能存在差别,并且可能对于软组织愈合能力有一定影响;口腔黏膜血流灌注情况在小样本青年人群中的高加索人种与中国汉族人之间差异无统计学意义。

Our case is a 72-year-old female with Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD) presented to the Emergency Department (ED) with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), more specifically NSTEMI. In ED, troponin levels were elevated and non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) was detected on electrocardiogram (ECG). Computed tomography (CT) scan showed Internal Carotid artery (ICA) pseudoaneurysm. Cardiac catheterization (CATH) was performed and revealed occlusion of the Left anterior descending (LAD) artery. Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) was suspected due to the history of FMD without a history of hypertension, smoking or substance use.

DRASTIC index model was employed in the assessment of the intrinsic groundwater vulnerability to contamination in Kaduna metropolis, Nigeria. The model evaluates the contribution of seven environmental parameters (Depth to water level, Net Recharge, Aquifer media, Soil media, Topography, Impact of vadose zone, and Hydraulic Conductivity) in the protection of groundwater against contamination. The mapping was conducted within the framework of Geographical Information System. The study area has very low, low to slightly moderate vulnerability with highest and lowest DRASTIC values of 131 and 77 respectively. To have better understanding of the spatial vulnerability of groundwater in the area, the DRASTIC map was reclassified into five (very high, high, moderate, low and very low) vulnerability zones. Generally, the distribution of the vulnerability classes indicated the low to moderate vulnerability status of the majority parts of the study area, with high vulnerability at the center. Strict control measures should be put in place when locating land uses with high potential hazards in the high and very high vulnerability areas.

Entanglement due to the interaction of a two level atom with a laser and quantized field is investigated. The role of the nonlinearity due to these interactions is discussed. It is found that the nonlinearity changes strongly the behavior of the entanglement also the detuning parameters have important role in the structure of the measure of entanglement.

Aim: Transforming growth factor (TGF) is overexpressed by tumor cells like other proteins and growth factors. TGF-β1 is then activated in the extracellular compartment but is unable to control cell proliferation because of the absence or low level of TGF-β1 receptors on the plasma membrane of malignant hepatocytes. This potential mechanism might interrupt the autocrine regulation loop of TGF-β1 and its blocking effect on cell proliferation. TGF-β1 is a multifunctional cytokine involved in the regulation of growth and differentiation of both normal and transformed cells. This study aimed to evaluate the association of serum levels of TGF-β1 with disease severity. Methods: A total of 180 subjects were classified into 6 groups according to Barcelona clinic liver cancer (BCLC) classification, 30 patients each:early (BCLC 0 and A), intermediate (BCLC B), advanced stage (BCLC C), and terminal stage (BCLC D) of hepatocellular carcinoma as well as 1 group of patients with cirrhosis only and 1 control group. Serum levels of TGFβ1 were measured. Results: Serum levels of TGF-β1 were significantly higher in patients with HCC (1,687.47 ± 1,462.81 pg/mL) than cirrhotics (487.98 ± 344.23 pg/mL, P < 0.001) and controls (250.16 ± 284.61 pg/mL, P <0.001). Conclusion: TGF-β1 may have a role in tumor growth and progression.

Aim:Epidermal growth factor(EGF)is a mitogen for hepatocyte grown in vitro,and its expression is up-regulated during liver *** also plays an important role in tumor initiation and *** goal of this study is to assess whether EGF is associated with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and also whether it is a predictive factor of shortened ***:Serum EGF levels were evaluated in a total of 151 subjects:51 patients with unresectable HCC,(21 of them were eligible for transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)and serum EGF levels were measured before and 1 week after TACE),40 patients with chronic hepatitis without cirrhosis,40 patients with cirrhosis,and 20 healthy *** demographic and laboratory variables were evaluated as predictive factors of survival in a Cox regression multivariate analysis using SPSS ***:The mean serum level of EGF in patients with HCC was 784.49 pg/mL,which was significantly higher(P<0.05)than all other *** EGF level in cirrhotic patients was 144.69 pg/mL;in those with chronic hepatitis C without cirrhosis,it was 338.64 pg/mL;and in healthy controls,it was 297.15 pg/*** group Ia patients who underwent TACE,the mean serum level of EGF was 759.76±287.88 pg/mL before TACE,and 801.14±276.12 pg/mL 1 week after treatment(P=0.34).On multivariate Cox regression analysis only age(P=0.03)and higher serum EGF level(P=0.005),were inversely correlated with overall ***:EGF levels were found to be significantly higher in HCC patients and together with age were the only predictors of poor survival in these *** was an increase in EGF levels 1 week after TACE in response to hypoxia;however,this increase was not statistically significant.
