Herein,a series of niobium oxide supported cerium nanotubes(Ce NTs)catalysts with different loading amount of Nb_(2)O_(5)(0–10 wt.%)were prepared and used for selective catalytic reduction of NOxwith NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR)in the presence of CH_(2)Cl_(2).Commercial V_(2)O_(5)-WO_(3)-TiO_(2) catalyst was also prepared for comparison.The physcial properties and chemical properties of the Nb_(2)O_(5) loaded cerium nanotubes catalysts were investigated by X-ray diffractometer,Transmission electron microscope,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller specific surface area,H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction,NH_(3)-temperature programmed desorption and Xray photoelectron spectroscopy.The experiment results showed that the loading amount of Nb_(2)O_(5) had a significant effect on the catalytic performance of the catalysts.10 wt.%Nb-Ce NTs catalyst presented the best NH_(3)-SCR performance and degradation efficiency of CH_(2)Cl_(2) among the prepared catalysts,due to its superior redox capability,abundant surface oxygen species and acid sites,the interaction between Nb and Ce,higher ratio of Nb^(4+)/(Nb^(5+)+Nb^(4+))and Ce^(3+)/(Ce^(3+)+Ce^(4+)),as well as the special tubular structure of cerium nanotube.This study may provide a practical approach for the design and synthesis of SCR catalysts for the simultaneously removal NOxand chlorinated volatile organic compounds(CVOCs)emitted from the stationary industrial sources.

Associations of Sedentary Time and Physical Activity with Metabolic Syndrome among Chinese Adults:Results from the China Health and Nutrition Survey

Objective This study aimed to determine the independent and joint associations of sedentary time(ST)and physical activity(PA) with metabolic syndrome(MetS) and its components among Chinese adults.Methods The study analyzed data from 4,865 adults aged ≥ 18 years who participated in the 2009 and2015 China Health and Nutrition Surveys(CHNS). Four types of leisure ST and three types of PA selfreported at baseline were collected. Multivariable logistic regressions were used to determine the independent and joint associations of ST and PA with the odds of MetS or its components.Results For independent effects, higher levels of television time and total leisure ST was associated with higher MetS risk [odds ratio(OR) 1.3, 95% confidence interval(CI) 1.1–1.6, P 7 hours/week(h/w) group was higher than that in the < 7 h/w group in(OR 1.5, 95% CI 1.2–1.9). Higher levels of moderate-to-vigorousintensity physical activity(MVPA) and total PA were associated with a lower MetS risk(OR 0.7, 95% CI0.6–0.9, P < 0.001;OR 0.8, 95% CI 0.7–0.9, P < 0.001, respectively). For the joint effects, compared with those reporting the lowest level of total leisure ST(< 14 h/w) and the most active tertile of MVPA(≥ 61.0 MET-h/w), participants reporting the most total leisure ST(≥ 35 h/w) and the lowest level of MVPA(0 MET-h/w) had the highest odds of MetS(OR 2.0;95% CI 1.4–2.7). Except for people reporting ST(14–21 h/w) within the most active tertile of MVPA, the associations in all other groups were significant.With the increase of TV time and decreased MVPA, the odds of MetS almost showed a curve acceleration.Conclusions MVPA and total PA have independent preventive effects, and sedentary behavior(mainly watching TV) has an unsafe effect on MetS and its components. Strengthening the participation of MVPA and combining the LPA to replace the TV-based ST to increase the total PA may be necessary to reduce the prevalence of MetS in Chinese adults.

Objective This study aimed to analyze the temporal trends and characteristics associated with waist circumference(WC)among elderly Chinese people.Methods We used data from 3,096 adults≥65 years who participated in the China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS),an ongoing cohort study,between 1993 and 2015.We used longitudinal quantile regression models to explore the temporal trends and characteristics associated with WC.Results WC increased gradually among the elderly Chinese population during the survey.The WC curves shifted to the right with wider distributions and lower peaks in men and women.All WC percentile curves shifted upward with similar growth rates in the 25th,50th,and 75th percentiles.The WC means increased from 78 cm to 86 cm during the 22 years of our study.WC significantly increased with age and body mass index and decreased with physical activity(PA).These associations were stronger in the higher percentiles than in the lower percentiles.Conclusions WC is rising among Chinese adults≥65 years.Factors affecting WC in elderly people may have different effects on different percentiles of the WC distribution,and PA was the most important protective factor in the higher percentiles of the WC distribution.Thus,different interventional strategies are needed.

Objective To estimate the association between three B-vitamin intakes and sociodemographic factors among adults in China.Methods We derived our data from the China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS) among 12,241 individuals aged 18–64 years. Log binomial regression was used to estimate adjusted prevalence ratios for factors associated with the inadequate intake of B-vitamins.Results Females with low incomes and living in the north had a higher prevalence of inadequate riboflavin intake than those with high incomes and living in the south. Both males and females living in a village had a higher prevalence of inadequate riboflavin intake than adults living in a city. Adults with low income, low education, and living in the north or in a village had a higher prevalence of inadequate niacin intake than adults with a high income, high education, and living in the south or in a city.Conclusion We found that income, region, and area of residence were associated with riboflavin intake. Education, income, region, and area of residence were associated with niacin intake. Welltailored strategies and policies are needed to improve nutritional status in China.

The nitrogen balance can serve as an indicator of the risk to the environment of nitrogen loss from agricultural land. To investigate the temporal and spatial changes in agricultural nitrogen application and its potential threat to the environment of the Haihe Basin in China, we used a database of county-level agricultural statistics to calculate agricultural nitrogen input, output,surplus intensity, and use efficiency. Chemical fertilizer nitrogen input increased by 51.7% from1990 to 2000 and by 37.2% from 2000 to 2010, concomitant with increasing crop yields.Simultaneously, the nitrogen surplus intensity increased by 53.5% from 1990 to 2000 and by16.5% from 2000 to 2010, presenting a continuously increased environmental risk. Nitrogen use efficiency decreased from 0.46 in 1990 to 0.42 in 2000 and remained constant at 0.42 in 2010,partly due to fertilizer composition and type improvement. This level indicates that more than half of nitrogen inputs are lost in agroecosystems. Our results suggest that although the improvement in fertilizer composition and types has partially offset the decrease in nitrogen use efficiency, the environmental risk has still increased gradually over the past 20 years, along with the increase in crop yields and nitrogen application. It is important to achieve a better nitrogen balance through more effective management to significantly reduce the environmental risk,decrease nitrogen surplus intensity, and increase nitrogen use efficiency without sacrificing crop yields.

This study aims to explore trends in sedentary behavior among Chinese children aged 6–17 years per demographic and social characteristics. Methods A total of 4,341 children aged 6–17 years who participated in the China Health and Nutrition Survey from 2004 to 2015 were included. Repeated measures from mixed-effects models were applied to test trends in sedentary behaviors, which were further analyzed after applying stratification according to gender, age, urbanization level, residential area, and region. Random-effects ordinal regression models were used to examine the trends at sedentary levels. Results From 2004 to 2015, sedentary time among children aged 6–17 years increased from 23.9 ±0.6 h/week to 25.7 ±0.6 h/week(P < 0.001). Increases of 3.1 h/week(P < 0.001), 2.3 h/week(P = 0.012), and 1.3 h/week(P = 0.042) were found among the low-, medium-, and high-urbanization groups respectively and increased by 2.0 h/week(P < 0.001) and 1.3 h/week(P = 0.002) among rural and urban children, respectively. The proportion of Chinese children with average daily screen time below 2 hours declined by 10.2%(OR = 0.51, 95%CI: 0.42–0.63, P < 0.001);a decreasing trend was observed in both boys and girls. Conclusion Sedentary time among Chinese children aged 6–17 years showed an upward trend from 2004 to 2015, especially among children residing in rural areas and regions with low urbanization levels.

为了研究一种通过普通摄像头非接触地拍摄人脸获取人体心率的测量系统,提出基于光电容积描记法原理,从人脸图像序列中可以提取出含有脉搏成分的信号,对该信号进行小波滤波得到血液容积脉搏波,然后用改进的时间间隔差法计算得到心率值。实验结果证明,如果将脉搏血氧仪测量的心率作为标准值,该系统测量结果的95%置信区间为［-2.2139, 2.1539］,该系统与脉搏血氧仪的心率测量结果具有很高的一致性;通过调节光照强度和摄像头硬件参数等能够在一定程度上提高测量准确度。

Background： Prolonged gonadal hormone deficiency in patients with idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism （IHH） may produce adverse effects on the endocrine homeostasis and metabolism. This study aimed to compare basal serum adrenocorticotropic hormone （ACTH） and cortisol levels between male IHH patients and healthy controls. Moreover, this study compared the basal hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal （HPA） axis in patients with and without nonalcoholic fatty liver disease （NAFLD）, and also evaluated the relationship between basal HPA axis and NAFLD in male IHH patients. Methods： This was a retrospective case-control study involving 75 Chinese male IHH patients （mean age 21.4 ± 3.8 years, range 17 30 years） and 135 healthy controls after matching tbr gender and age. All subjects underwent physical examination and blood testing for serum testosterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone. ACTH, and cortisol and biochemical tests. Results： Higher basal serum ACTH levels （8.25 ±3.78 pmol/L vs. 6.97 ±2.81 pmol/L） and lower cortisol levels （366.70 ±142.48 nmol/L vs. 452.82 ± 141.53 nmol/L） were observed ill male IHH patients than healthy subjects （all P 〈 0.05）. IHH patients also showed higher metabolism parameters and higher prevalence rate of NAFLD （34.9% vs. 4.4%） than the controls （all P 〈 0.05）. Basal serum ACTH （9.91 ±4.98 pmol/L vs. 7.60 ±2.96 pmol/L） and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate （2123.7 ±925.8 μg/L vs. 1417.1 ±498.4 μg/L） levels were significantly higher in IHH patients with NAFLD than those without NAFLD （all P 〈 0.05）. We also found that basal serum ACTH levels were positively correlated with NAFLD （r = 0.289, P 〈 0.05） and triglyceride levels （r - 0.268, P 〈 0.05） in male IHH patients. Furthermore, NAFLD was independently associated with ACTH levels in male IHH patients by multiple linear regression analysis. Conclusions： The male IHH patients showed higher basal serum ACTH levels and lower cortisol levels than matched healthy controls. NAFLD was an independent associated factor for ACTH level
