Cells,tissues,and organs are constantly subjected to the action of mechanical forces from the extracellular environment-and the nervous system is no ***-intrinsic properties such as membrane lipid composition,abundance of mechanosensors,and cytoskeletal dynamics make cells more or less likely to sense these *** and extrinsic cues are integrated by cells and this combined information determines the rate and dynamics of membrane protrusion growth or retraction(Yamada and Sixt,2019).Cell protrusions are extensions of the plasma membrane that play crucial roles in diverse contexts such as cell migration and neuronal synapse *** the nervous system,neurons are highly dynamic cells that can change the size and number of their pre-and postsynaptic elements(called synaptic boutons and dendritic spines,respectively),in response to changes in the levels of synaptic activity through a process called *** plasticity is a hallmark of the nervous system and is present throughout our lives,being required for functions like memory formation or the learning of new motor skills(Minegishi et al.,2023;Pillai and Franze,2024).

Modelling of the effects of water and different levels of nitrogen on evapotranspiration and water productivity of rainfed soybeans is very important in optimising resource use in the production of the *** objective of the study was to model evapotranspiration,soil water storage and water productivity of rainfed soybeans under different levels of nitrogen fertilizer by using the FAo AquaCrop *** experiments were conducted at the Teaching and Research Farms of obafemi Awolowo University,Nigeria in the rainy seasons of 2015 and *** were five levels of nitrogen,which are 00,25,50,75 and 100%of the recommended nitrogen applications and two varieties of soybeans,which produced a 2 by 5 factorial experimental *** data of the wetter year 2015,were used for calibration of the AquaCrop model because AquaCrop is water *** 2016 data were used for the *** AquaCrop model simulated canopy cover with R2 and EF>0.90,d-in-dex>*** model captured the trend of the soil water storage well,R2 and EF>*** AquaCrop model simulated soil water storage below wilting point for seasonal rainfall less than 600 mm,and it did not overestimate *** model predicted evapotranspirationwith R and EF>0.89,d-index=*** ground biomass was overestimated even though R2>***,nitrogen stress reduced seed yield and water productivity,there was no under or over estimation of the seed *** were predicted with low error under the different levels of nitrogen fertilizer,R>0.99,EF and d-index>*** AquaCrop model is suitable for simulating canopy cover,soil water storage,evapotranspiration,and seed yieldof rainfed soybeans with different levels of nitrogen fertilizer under temporal distribution of seasonal ***,it can serve as a useful tool for smallholder farmers in predicting productivity of soybeans and optimising resource allocation,land and water use in the tropical farming *** recommend simulation of the effe

This paper describes severe plastic deformation(SPD)procedures,which are utilized to form an ultrafine-grained structure in metallic *** the SPD process,a solid material sample is subjected to very high loads without a significant change in sample *** the present work,the high-pressure torsion(HPT)process,as one of the SPD techniques,which achieves a high degree of deformation and ensures refinement of the microstructure,will be discussed in more *** that grain size control is accepted as a method to obtain materials with desired characteristics,an overview of the properties of ultrafine-grained titanium-based biomaterials to be used in medicine is ***,particular attention is dedicated to the influences of HPT process parameters,primarily hydrostatic pressure,and number of revolutions during torsion,on the grain size and physical and mechanical characteristics(modulus of elasticity,microhardness,and tensile properties),corrosion resistance,and biocompatibility of the titanium-based biomaterials.A review of the literature indicates that titanium-based materials obtained by the SPD process show improved mechanical and physical properties without losing biocompatibility and corrosion resistance,which suggests that these methods of obtaining implants are something that should be further developed in the future.

The effects of a harmonically exciting monopole source on an infinitely long cylindrical cavity embedded entirely within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent are examined theoretically. It is assumed that the source is located outside the cavity at a specified distance from the borehole axis. The magnitudes of the hoop and radial stresses beside the pore pressures exerted on the interface and inside the porous medium surrounding the borehole are calculated and discussed. Biot's poroelastic modeling along with three types of boundary conditions for the cylindrical interface including the ideal fluid, empty borehole, and rigid inclusion with a hard boundary is employed for the analysis. Utilizing a proper translational addition theorem for expressing the incident spherical wave in terms of cylindrical wave expansions, the proposed boundary conditions at the interface are satisfied. Stresses are formulated by means of wave potential functions in a three-dimensional(3D) manner. The effects of the frequency and the radial distance between the source and borehole on the induced stresses are examined for the first cylindrical modes over frequency spectra. Two permeability conditions for the interface and three types of soils for the porous formation are considered throughout the analysis. To give an overall outline of the study, a numerical example is presented. The results clearly indicate that the distance is a key parameter and has considerable effects on the induced stress values. In addition, the interface permeability condition and soil characteristics play an important role in determining the dynamic response of the borehole. Finally,the obtained results are compared with the relevant analyses existing in the literature for some limit cases, and good agreement is achieved.

Rainfed agriculture has a high yield potential if rainfall and land resources are effectively *** this study,conventional(NC)and six in-situ water conservation practices were used to cultivate Soybean in 2011 and 2012 in Ile-lfe,*** conservation practices are:Tied ridge(TR),Soil bund(BD),Mulch(ML),Mulch plus Soil bund(MLBD),Tied ridge plus Mulch(TRML),Tied ridge plus Soil bund(TRBD).The practices were arranged in Randomised Complete Block Design with four *** rainfall was 539 and 761 mm in 2011 and 2012,*** soil water storage(SWS)ranged from 485 mm for NC to 517 mm for TRML in the two *** increased the SWS in the upper 30 cm of the soil by 17% while TR increased the soil water content in the lower 30-60 cm by 22% compared with *** reduced soil temperature in the upper 30 cm between 2.2 and 2.9℃ compared with NC,TR and *** crop evapotranspiration ranged between 432 mm for NC and 481 mm for BD in the *** yield increased by 41.7% and 44.3% for BD and MLBD,respectively compared with *** conservation practices increased water productivity for grain yield by 14.0-41.8% compared with ***,it increased average seasonal transpiration efficiency by 15.3-32.5% compared with *** findings demonstrate that when there are fluctuations in rainfall,in-situ water conservation practices improve SWS,land,and water productivity and transpiration efficiency of Soybeans.
