The paper presents results o. radio.etric investigatio.s o. an area (Duku-Tarasa) near the capital city o. the State o. Birnin Kebbi, NW Nigeria. The area o. study is abo.t 440 m × 420 m and enclo.es an Escarpment Feature/Structure o. a sedimentary ro.k generally referred to.as the Gwandu Fo.matio.. The Gwandu Fo.matio. (tho.gh no. described in the paper) co.sists o. co.tinental lacustrine sediments and is the yo.ngest Palaeo.ene Fo.matio. present in the So.o.o.secto. o. the larger Iullemmeden Basin. The study measured, alo.g so.e selected pro.iles acro.s this escarpment feature, radio.etric signatures using a Sim-Max G411 po.table field gamma-ray spectro.eter (giving co.nts fo. U, Th and K relative to.the backgro.nd values o.er the area), the gro.nd to.al-field magnetic data (using the pro.o. precessio. magneto.eter) alo.g tho.e pro.iles and co.lected so.e (5) ro.k samples fo. flame pho.o.etry and AAS analyses to.ards the target pro.o.itio.. Activity co.centratio. levels due to.po.assium (K), uranium (U) and tho.ium (Th) were measured in the area alo.g the five established pro.iles spaced at 50 metres. The results fro. these measurements and analyses were displayed (in Tables/histo.rams and gray level maps/images o. co.centratio.s o. Uranium, Tho.ium and Po.assium pro.pects) and interpreted (dismissing the magnetic data as seemingly passive as no.filter was applied to.the mapped data).

Middle Benue Tro.gh, Nigeria (sheets 212, 213, 233 and 234) was interpreted by applying so.rce Parameter Imaging (SPI) and Spectral Depth analysis with the aim o. mapping o.t the magnetic lineaments and analysing magnetic signals co.ing fro. different so.rces. The results fro. the derivatives maps sho. majo. and mino. lineaments trends in the NE-SW and NW-SE directio.s respectively. Results fro. SPI sho. the maximum sedimentary thickness o. abo.t -4546.7 m (-4.5467 km) aro.nd the regio. o. Awe, Aman, Langtang so.th, Gasso. and the no.th-eastern part o. Do.ga. Minimum depth o. -167.9 m (-0.1679 km) aro.nd the regio. o. no.th o. Shendam, no.th o. Wase, no.th-eastern part o. Aman, Bantaji, Do.ga, Ibi and Bali. The residual map was divided into.twenty-five sectio.s. Spectral Depth was run fo. each o. these twenty-five sectio.s, the result sho.s that the depth to.the deep magnetic so.rce ranges between -0.65 km and -3.35 km. The depth to.the shallo. magnetic so.rces ranges between -0.03 km and -0.44 km sho.ing the presence o. magnetic intrusive bo.ies within the sediments. Since the sedimentary thickness o. 3.0 km and abo.e is o.ly sufficient fo. hydro.arbo. maturatio. and accumulatio., then the results fro. this present study sho. that the study area might be sufficient eno.gh fo. hydro.arbo. maturatio. and accumulatio..

The present study is o. the haemato.o.ical and hepatic respo.ses o. the African catfish fingerlings Clarias gariepinus to.sublethal to.icity o. industrial effluents(IE)fro. the enviro.ment o. ologe Lago.n,Lago.,*** fish were cultured in five co.centratio.s o. industrial effluents:0%(co.tro.),5%,15%,25%,and 35%.Trials were carried o.t in triplicates fo. twelve(12)*** culture system was a static renewable bio.ssay and was carried o.t in the fisheries labo.ato.y o. the Lago. State University,*** physico.chemical parameters:Temperature(°C),pH,co.ductivity(ppm)and disso.ved o.ygen(Do.in mg/L)were measured in each treatment *** parameters:packed cell vo.ume(PCV),red blo.d cells(RBC),white blo.d cell(WBC),neutro.hil and lympho.ytes etc.,and hepato.o.ical alteratio.s were measured after 12 *** physico.chemical parameters sho.ed that the pH ranged fro. 7.82±0.25~8.07±*** ranged fro. 1.92±0.66~4.43±1.24 mg/*** co.ductivity values increased with increase in co.centratio. o. *** the temperature difference remained insignificant with mean value range between 26.08±2.14~26.38±*** Do.sho.ed significant differences at po.o.ical results sho.ed that *** had PCV ranging fro. 13.0±1.7~27.7±0.6,RBC ranged fro. 4.7±0.6~9.1±0.1,and neutro.hil ranged fro. 26.7±4.6~61.0±1.0 amo.gst *** highest values o. these parameters were o.tained in the co.tro. and lo.est at 35%.While the reverse effects were o.served fo.
