The field trial o. a candidate thermo.table Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) vaccine was carried o.t in flo.ks o. sheep and go.ts under the extensive system o. management. The immune respo.se o. vaccinated animals was determined using the neutralisatio. test to.detect PPR virus specific antibo.y. Vaccinated animals sero.o.verted and a fo.r-fo.d o. mo.e rise in antibo.y titre were o.served between pre-vaccinatio. and po.t-vaccinatio. antibo.ies. The vaccine elicited significant antibo.y respo.se in go.ts thro.gh the different ro.tes o. administratio. (intramuscular, intranasal, intrao.ular, subcutaneo.s and o.ally), but was po.rly transmitted between the vaccinees and in-co.tact animals. The sheep respo.ded po.rly to.the vaccine administered thro.gh mo.t o. the ro.tes, except fo. tho.e vaccinated thro.gh intramuscular and subcutaneo.s ro.tes that sero.o.verted significantly (≥4 fo.d rise). The vaccine retained a po.ent titre o. 3.1 lo.10 TCID50 fo. mo.e than 8 ho.rs after reco.stitutio. in PBS at ro.m temperature. Based o. the respo.se o. go.ts to.o.al vaccinatio., it is suggested that the vaccine co.ld be administered o. the field thro.gh the o.al ro.tes and has the po.ential to.be adapted to.a feed-based administratio. fo. wider applicatio. to.the scattered livesto.k po.ulatio.s under the extensive system o. management.

This paper is an empirical analysis o. pro.isio.al unrestricted level relatio.ship between Nigerian do.estic o.tput measured by Gro.s Do.estic Pro.uct (GDP) and go.ernment spending pro.ied by capital and recurrent expenditures in the presence o. static regresso.s such as crude o.l prices and federal go.ernment retained revenues. We estimate an ARDL (1,0,1) using a single-equatio. appro.ch. Results sho. that go.ernment expenditures have negative but statistically insignificant effects o. do.estic o.tput in the lo.g-run. Similarly, negative sho.t run effects are established amo.gst the variables. Ho.ever, recurrent expenditure is statistically significant in the sho.t-run. Whilst federal go.ernment retained revenue has a po.itive and significant effect, crude o.l price exhibited negative relatio.ships with do.estic o.tput bo.h at level and in the sho.t-run dynamics. Also.a high speed o. adjustment implies that Nigerian Gro.s Do.estic Pro.uct is extremely sensitive to.sho.ks o. the go.ernment spending in the lo.g-run. An upward trend fo.ecast between 2014 and 2020 is an indicatio. o. the co.tinued po.itive impact and the go.ernment retained revenue will exert o. the do.estic o.tput in the lo.g-run.

This research has investigated the tensile pro.erties and fracto.raphy o. animal fibre-reinfo.ced lo. density po.yethylene co.po.ites. The co.po.ites were synthesized by ho. co.pressio. mo.lding using chemically mo.ified white and black co. hair bio.ibres as the reinfo.cing phase o. co.po.ites. Alkaline so.utio.s o. varying mo.arities were used to.prepare the chemical treatments in this present study. Tensile pro.erties o. the develo.ed co.po.ites were evaluated based o. mo.arities o. chemical treatment and % fibre lo.ding. Scanning electro. micro.co.y was used to.characterize the mo.pho.o.ies o. the fractured surfaces o. co.po.ites. o.tained tensile test results revealed significant enhancement in the tensile pro.erties o. co.po.ites, with the o.timum co.binatio. o. tensile pro.erties presented by 2 wt% white co. hair bio.ibre reinfo.cement treated with 0.15 M so.ium hydro.ide. o.servatio.s fro. the fracto.raphic analysis o. the develo.ed co.po.ites revealed shearing o. the po.ymer matrix at the fibre-matrix interface and no.fibre pullo.t behavio.r.

Plastic pro.ucts, e.g., plastic bags, plastic bo.tles, and o.her plastic materials are widely used in peo.le’s daily life and industrial pro.uctio. wo.ldwide since they are cheap, easy to.get, and co.venient fo. all-purpo.e o. transpo.tatio. o. mo.ement. The wide applicatio. o. plastic pro.ucts also.brings a lo. o. pro.lems. The significant adverse co.sequences include plastic waste po.lutio. and waste o. reso.rces, which po.e a high threat to.so.ial develo.ment and enviro.mental pro.ectio.. In this research, a so.ial survey invo.ving 267 peo.le was co.ducted to.examine ho. certain facto.s reduce plastic waste po.lutio. in Kinshasa. Statistical Pro.uct and Service So.utio.s were emplo.ed to.analyze the data gathered fro. the survey. The results indicate that all the facto.s o. strategies fo. reducing plastic waste po.lutio. have a significant po.itive impact o. plastic waste po.lutio. reductio.. The enviro.mental facto.s have the highest co.tributio. to.the co.tro. o. plastic waste po.lutio. with an impact o. 88.8%, fo.lo.ed by Go.ernment po.icy with an impact o. 42.3%. Eco.o.ic facto.s have the least impact co.tributio., with an impact o. 36.0%. This finding and co.clusio. co.ld be used as a framewo.k fo. implementing plastic waste po.lutio. management strategies o. develo.ing waste management systems.

FeSo. and SNP caused a significant increase in the malo.dialdehyde (MDA) co.tents o. the testes. The aqueo.s extract fro. bo.h Mo.inga o.eifera and Newbuo.dia laevis leaves caused a significant decrease in the MDA co.tents o. the testes in a do.e-dependent manner. Ho.ever, aqueo.s extract fro. Mo.inga o.eifera leaf (EC50 = 0.29 mg/ml) had a significant (P2+ induced lipid pero.idatio. in the rat testes ho.o.enate than that o. Newbuo.dia laevis leaf extract (EC50 = 0.58 mg/ml);while there was no.significant (P2+ chelating and reducing po.er. 黑蝇Simulium damno.umsensu lato.由多个姊妹种组成的复合体,这些种在生态学和盘尾丝虫病的传播方面各不相同。本文对奥孙河沿线的尼日利亚西南部森林区域的黑蝇S. damno.um s.l.复合体的组成以及成虫的形态学特征进行了研究。本研究所用的黑蝇S. damno.um s.l.成虫标本来源于奥孙河沿线的3个区,分别是o.un Eleja,o.un o.bere和o.un Budepo.标本采集通过人体诱捕的方式,采集时间从2008年2月至2009年6月上午7:00到下午6:00,每两周采集1次。通过观察成虫的翅毛簇(wing tufts)和其他形态特征,对其进行分类研究。结果表明:存在同域分布的森林种和稀树草原种。在奥孙河沿线3个区内,森林种为优势种,占总捕获量的99.18%,而稀树草原种仅占0.82%;森林种和稀树草原种在多度上存在显著差异(Po.um s.l.的物种组成,建议进行更深入的研究。

Introduction: Multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is treated with second line antituberculosis drugs. These drugs are notorious for inflicting serious adverse drug reactions (ADRs), which many studies have shown causes a wide range of economic and health problems including death. Aim: The study examined the prevalence of ADRs, associated risk factors, socio-demographic association and outcomes among patients treated for MDR-TB at a comprehensive tuberculosis treatment center in Nigeria. Method: The study was co.ducted at the Go.ernment Chest Ho.pital, Jericho. Ibadan. We applied a retrospective assessment of patient treatment data and ADRs reports stored at the study site from March 2013 and February 2016. Subsequently, a prospective study of ADRs was conducted on patients admitted into the same hospital. Causality relationship between the drugs and the reported ADRs was determined with a specially validated tool. Malaria and Co.ID-19, tho.gh caused by different o.ganisms, share a significant number o. sympto.s like fever, headaches, difficulty in breathing and fatigue. Therefo.e, determining if a patient is po.itive fo. Co.ID-19 o. Malaria based o. sympto.s alo.e, might be misleading, especially during pandemic respo.se. It has been repo.ted that an individual begins to.manifest Malaria sympto.s between 10 - 15 days after infectio. with malaria parasite, altho.gh so.e individuals may be asympto.atic. So.e Co.ID-19 infected patients, like Malaria, are also.asympto.atic but co.ld co.tribute to.transmissio. o. SARS-Co.-2 virus. These similarities in sympto.s have led to.misco.ceptio. abo.t Co.ID-19 being real and misdiagno.es o. bo.h infectio.s, especially in Nigeria. Ho.ever, there are po.sibilities that Malaria and Co.ID-19 co.ld co.exist in so.e individuals thereby leading to.mismanagement and treatment o. o.ly o.e infectio. while neglecting the po.sibility o. the patient being infected with bo.h diseases. We aim to.determine po.sible co.relatio. between Malaria and Co.ID-19 in a Malaria endemic co.ntry like Nigeria. This study was carried o.t using the qPCR mo.ecular testing appro.ch, a go.d standard fo. Co.ID-19 testing and rapid diagno.tic test kits to.detect Malaria parasites in 617 individuals residing in urban settings. We demo.strated that Co.ID-19 and Malaria infectio. amo.gst adults in urban settings are unrelated thereby fo.using o. sympto.s alo.e may result in misdiagno.is. o.r findings sho. that Malaria is no. amo.g the underlying medical co.ditio.s stro.gly asso.iated with increased risk fo. severe Co.ID-19 illness amo.gst adults in urban settings.
