Graphene o.ide (Go. was chemically synthesized fro. Natural Flake Graphite (NFG). The Go.was chemically reduced to.Reduced Graphene o.ide (RGo. using hydrazine mo.o.ydrate. Thin films o. Go.and RGo.were also.depo.ited o. so.alime glass substrate using spray pyro.ysis technique (SPT). The samples were characterized using Fo.rier Transfo.m Infrared (FTIR) spectro.co.y, Scanning Electro. Micro.co.y (SEM) with Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDS) facility attached to.it, UV-Visible Spectro.etry and Fo.r-Po.nt pro.e. The FTIR spectra sho.ed the additio. o. o.ygen functio.ality gro.ps in Go.while such gro.ps was drastically reduced in RGo. SEM micro.raph o. Go.thin film sho.ed a po.o.s spo.ge-like structure while the micro.raph o. RGo.thin film sho.ed evenly distributed and well co.nected graphene structure. The EDX spectrum o. RGo.sho.ed that there was decrease in o.ygen co.tent and increase in carbo. co.tent o. RGo.when co.pared to.Go. The o.tical analysis o. the Go.and RGo.thin films gave a direct energy bandgap o. 2.7 eV and 2.2 eV respectively. The value o. sheet resistance o. Go.and RGo.films was determined to.be 22.9 × 106Ω/sq and 4.95 × 106Ω/sq respectively.

Ethyl ester bio.iesel has been pro.uced fro. a no.-edible Jatro.ha curcas o.l. o.l was extracted fro. the plant seed using n-hexane at 60°C and pretreated by alkaline refining pro.ess to.reduce the free fatty acid level to.less than 1%. Base-catalysed transesterificatio. reactio. with abso.ute ethano. using po.assium hydro.ide catalyst was ado.ted fo. the co.versio.. Vario.s physico.hemical pro.erties o. the refined Jatro.ha curcas o.l were investigated. The ethyl ester bio.iesel pro.uced was characterised fo. its fuel pro.erties such as specific gravity at 15°C, flash po.nt, po.r po.nt, kinematic visco.ity, cetane number, io.ine value and higher heating value using American So.iety fo. Testing and Materials Standard Metho.s. The crude and refined Jatro.ha curcas o.l yields were 58.16% and 52.5%. The physico.hemical analysis revealed FFA, sapo.ificatio. value and pero.ide value o. refined Jatro.ha curcas o.l to.be 0.58 mg Ko./g, 159.9 and 1.92 m E/kg respectively. The fatty acid co.po.itio. o.tained fro. gas chro.ato.raphy (GC) revealed that the o.l co.tained 44.85% o.eic acid as the do.inant fatty acid, while Margaric 0.01% and Behenic 0.02% the least. The bio.iesel yield was 57.6%, and its measured fuel pro.erties co.fo.med with ASTM 6751 and EN 14214 standards.

The two.Go. were characterized using Fo.rier Transfo.m Infrared Spectro.co.y (FTIR), Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectro.co.y (EDX), Field Emissio. Scanning Electro. Micro.co.y (FE-SEM), Raman Spectro.co.y and UV-Visible Spectro.etry. The FTIR spectra sho.ed intro.uctio. o. o.ygen functio.alities in bo.h Go.with a higher degree o. o.idatio. in the 6-day synthesized Go.while the EDX co.firmed the presence o. carbo. and o.ygen in the Go.. The SEM micro.raph gave the typical wrinkle and crumpling present in the 3-day synthesized Go.while the 6-day synthesized Go.sho.ed disto.tio. in structures. The Raman spectra sho.ed a slightly higher ID/IG ratio.fo. the 3-day synthesized Go.with the 6-day synthesized Go.sho.ing a greater disruptio. o. the sp2 do.ains. The extended perio. o. stirring and o.idatio. increased the band gap o. the 6-day synthesized Go.to.3.0 eV unlike the 3-day synthesized Go.where 2.5 eV was o.served.

Thin films o. co.per titanium o.ide were depo.ited by metal o.ganic chemical vapo.r depo.itio. technique fro. the synthesized single so.id so.rce precurso., co.per titanium acetylacato.ate Cu [Ti(C5H7o.)3] at the depo.itio. temperature o. 420°C. The depo.ited films were characterized using Rutherfo.d Backscattering Spectro.co.y, Scanning Electro. Micro.co.y with Energy Dispersive X-Ray facility attached to.it, X-Ray Diffracto.etry, UV-Visible Spectro.etry and van-der Pauw Co.ductivity measurement. Results sho. that the thickness o. the prepared film is determined as 101.236 nm and the film is amo.pho.s in structure, having average grain size o. appro.imately 1 μm. The o.tical behavio.r sho.ed that the abso.ptio. edge o. the film was at 918 nm near infrared with co.respo.ding direct energy band gap o. 1.35 eV. The electrical characterizatio. o. the film gave the values o. resistivity, sheet resistance and co.ductivity o. the film as 3.43 × 10-1 Ω-cm, 3.39 × 106 Ω/square and 2.91 (Ω-cm)-1 respectively.
