This paper studied the efficiency o. electro.o.gulatio./electro.lo.atio. in remo.ing co.o.r fro. real textile wastewater by using aluminum and iro. electro.es in an inno.ative pilo. external-lo.p airlift reacto. o. 150 L. The reacto. was designed to.o.erate in batch and co.tinuo.s mo.es. The real effluent co.tained 90% o. disperse dye and 10% o. reactive dye. A co.plete flo.atio. o. po.lutants with acceptable mixing was achieved in this reacto. using o.ly the o.erall liquid recirculatio. induced by H2 micro.ubbles. The treatment o. these discharges was easier using electro.es o. iro. rather than aluminum. The o.timal initial pH was 10 fo. bo.h aluminum and iro. electro.es. By using iro. electro.es, the maximum deco.o.risatio. efficiency and Co. reductio. efficiency reached respectively 96% and 65% fo. 90 minutes o. treatment. Similarly, by using aluminum electro.es, the maximum deco.o.risatio. efficiency reached 90%, Co. reductio. reached 51% fo. 120 minutes o. treatment. In the case o. an initial pH slightly different to.10, the required time to.reach 90% ranged fro. do.ble to.triple.
