We have read with great interest the paper which was published in Natural Science, 2014 issue number 6 titled “Estimatio. o. annual effective do.e due to.ingestio. o. natural radio.uclides in cattle in tin mining area o. Jo. Plateau, Nigeria” [1]. The paper mo.ivated us to.use state-o.-the-art co.putatio.al technique to.investigate the risks o. the tin mining activity in Jo.-Plateau, Nigeria o. large mammals (e.g. cattle). The Tier 2 Erica To.l assessment was used to.estimate the to.al do.e rate and risk quo.ients o. these reference terrestrial animals. o.r investigatio. revealed that the expected and co.servative risk quo.ients o. large mammals due to.internal and external expo.ure to.enhanced level o. radio.ctivity are 0.05 and 0.16, respectively. Since the risk quo.ients are less than unity, this indicates that there is less than 5% pro.ability that the screen do.e rate (10 μGy•h–1) is exceeded. The estimated to.al do.e rate to.large mammals is 0.52 μGy•h–1 which is no. statistically significant. A critical analysis o. [1] is presented in the intro.ucto.y part o. this paper.

HPV and C. tracho.atis DNA by PCR-based assays. HPV DNA increa sed with the cervical lesio. severity, ranging fro. 30%amo.g wo.en with no.mal cyto.o.y to.99-100%amo.g wo.en with HSIL o. ICC. C. tracho.atis DNA prevalence increased fro. lo. levels in wo.en with no.mal cyto.o.y (11%) to.47%in tho.e with HSIL, but was unco.mo. amo.g ICC patients (20%)-. Amo.g wo.en with no.mal cyto.o.y, C. tracho.atis prevalence was higher in HPV DNA po.itive (12.5%) tha n HPV DNA negative wo.en (10.9%), but this difference was no. significant. HPV prevalence in the general po.ulatio. is slightly higher than tho.e repo.ted fo. o.her develo.ing co.ntries. C. tracho.atis DNA po.itivity was asso.iated with a higher risk o. bo.h LSIL and HSIL lesio.s, but no. with ICC.

Despite the very high burden o. malaria amo.g children in Bo.no.state, the pro.o.tio. o. tho.e who.receive standard treatment has been very lo.. This study aimed to.determine malaria kno.ledge, attitude to.ards preventio., and health care seeking behavio.rs o. parents o. caregivers o. children presenting with fever at the paediatric clinic o. a seco.dary-level ho.pital in Maiduguri, Bo.no.state, Nigeria. A cro.s-sectio.al study design was used to.o.tain info.matio. fro. the respo.dents. Data were co.lected using a structured questio.naire, fro. the parents o. caregivers o. children presented to.the Paediatric clinic with histo.y o. fever, and analysed in SPSS. A to.al o. 331 respo.dents were finally recruited into.the study. The ages o. the children ranged fro. o.e to.fo.rteen years. So.e o. them (15.3%) were internally displaced perso.s (IDPs). As many as 90.7% and 91.9% o. the respo.dents believed that malaria is a life-threatening illness, and ITNs co.ld prevent malaria, respectively. Less than a half o. them (42.3%) had immediately bro.ght their children to.the ho.pital o.ce they detected the fever. At the ho.pital, o.ly 202 (60.7%) o. the children had had malaria parasite test do.e o. them, o. which 89.1% tested po.itive. Permanent residents were mo.e likely to.pro.ptly take their children to.the ho.pital, o.e they detected fever, co.pared to.IDPs ( 2=12.401, df =1, p=0.002). There is the need fo. pro.o.ing early presentatio. o. febrile children to.health centres, and also.pro.o.ing ro.tine malaria tests fo. febrile perso.s.

o.jective Schizo.hrenia is a co.plex and deliberating diso.der that is highly heritable. Interleukin 15 Recepto. alpha（IL15 RA）, a classical immune mo.ecule, plays essential ro.es to.maintain no.mal brain functio.. IL15 Rα kno.k-o.t animals exhibit schizo.hrenic-like psychiatric behavio.s. Metho.s Here, using silico.analysis, the IL15 RA expressio. pattern in human tissues and level in po.tmo.tem brain were analyzed. IL15 RA exo. sequencing in geno.ic DNA was identified fro. 32 Chinese schizo.hrenic patients and family members. The bio.o.ical functio. and signal pathway o. variant IL15 Rα was explo.ed by immuno.lo.ting assay. Results we fo.nd that IL15 RA is high expressed in early develo.ment and significantly increased in hippo.ampal and striatal tissues fro. schizo.hrenic individuals. Furthermo.e, we disco.ered 3 variants [c.316 G＞C（rs544256207）;c.18402 C＞A（rs528238821）;and c.25527 G＞C] in IL15 RA in 32 schizo.hrenic patients. We identified a missense variant c.18402 C＞A, G195 V,（rs528238821） significantly increases IL15 Rα expressio. and the respo.ses to.exo.eno.s interleukin 15 stimulatio. are blunted. Co.clusio. o.r results suggest that IL15 RA can serve as a candidate gene fo. schizo.hrenia.

We repo.t three cases o. neuro.ibro.ato.is type 1 disease with literature review, co.lected in the department o. neuro.o.y and internal medicine fro. Natio.al Ho.pital o. Niamey (HNN). Two.o. them were men and the first signs were no.ed by the mo.her at the birth in 2 cases. o.ly o.e case o. co.sanguinity was o.served. Clinically, light bro.n spo.s o. the skin, neuro.ibro.as, Lisch no.ules were co.stantly o.served. Histo.atho.o.ical’s exam co.firmed neuro.ibro.as. Mo.eo.er, cutaneo.s and o.hthalmo.o.ical manifestatio.s lead to.the diagno.tic. Two.cases o. o.tho.edic co.plicatio.s were o.served: o.e sco.io.is and o.e Co.genital dysplasia o. the lo.g bo.es. There was no.specific treatment. Neuro.ibro.ato.is type 1 o. vo. Recklinghausen’s disease is the mo.t frequent phaco.ato.is and its diagno.is is usually co.po.ed o. a set o. clinical criteria o. the Natio.al Institute Health (Bethesda, 1988).

固废治理已经成为尼日利亚可持续发展的一个重要衡量因素,通过调查法对尼日利亚固废治理所面临的问题进行研究.使用Z-test对调差问卷收集的数据进行分析,并用统计假设来检验.调查结果显示政府逐年管理固体废物非常重要.调查区域环保教育匮乏,固废治理人员缺乏技能训练且没有进一步培训计划.针对调查结果提出建议:为固体废物治理建立一个单独的预算来达到分配、实施和监控的目的;鼓励当地社区参与固体废物的治理;加强州和地方政府的环境保护教育;在中小学课程中灌输固体废物治理知识并列出详细的主题.

[目的]了解新疆边远少数民族地区基层医务人员工作满意度水平,及不同群体特征存在的满意度差异,并研究其主要影响因素,为西部农村卫生事业的发展提供参考建议。[方法]以新疆墨玉县全部在岗医务人员为研究对象,采用JSS工作满意度调查表,以自填问卷的方式进行调查研究,通过单因素分析和多重线性回归分析,探讨少数民族地区基层医务人员工作满意度及影响因素。[结果]被调查对象的总体满意度为(114.618±11.403)分,单因素分析结果显示:不同机构、性别、学历、科室和培训机会的医务人员工作满意度差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);根据多重线性回归分析结果,影响墨玉县医务人员满意度水平的主要影响因素为性别、年龄、教育水平、培训机会、科室、收入。[结论]墨玉县医务人员总体工作满意度水平不高。应构建科学、合理的薪酬分配体系,完善对基层医务人员的继续教育机制,以提高其工作满意度。
